They did start off-road in 2013, then went to on road in 2014. Probably more venues, better sponsors, and more opportunities.

SST is the best pro racing to watch right now by far. It just goes to show that things can be competitive and interesting to watch. Every lap is interesting to watch, there's literally never a dull moment.

Now this is real entertaining race! Would be more interesting if they make part of the track off-road race oriented in my opinion. Still, great driving skills and race regardless!

It's insane how much more speed Brabham and Gordon are pulling through the corners compared to the others.
SSTs are awesome and having identical cars creates so much good action! I really wish they made a couple of improvements though. Like showing replays and pit interviews during the competition caution instead of during the racing, encourage the teams to have more of their work in the the garage etc., filmed and put online, and to have more licensing to make it easier to watch races and qualifying sessions around the world.
As much as people like to crap on F1 for its problems (me included), they have been doing a fantastic job the last years in terms of quality output of videos regarding everything related to the sport; podcasts with racers, engineers, designers, team bosses, various interviews, highlights, throw backs, etc.
Bring this too Norway.
Except of course that Davies gapped them both and they got NONE it back!
Guessing f1 has a way bigger budget and bigger following. More money involved makes all those things easier

Although this isn't exactly my favourite racing series, it always feels just a bit lame to go back to watching 'regular' racing after watching this stuff. Must be all about big ass trucks and big ass jumps and the general weirdness of the concept.

kinda feel bad for Matt Brabham when he skidded at the end, he might have taken a pass on Robby Gordon, I think that hit slowed him far more than it did gordon, so he mighta stolen second. On the flip side, Brabbam might have had a crazy run (like he has many times in this race) and stolen the lead.
Either way that ending could have gone very different. It could even have been a worse crash, scooped up davies, and handed the win to Greg Gardiner. Epic ending in any case.
NASCAR needs to watch what a "real" race looks like.
Are all the trucks identical or at the teams allowed to modify them?
There are some things that drivers may change (like shocks), but the trucks are otherwise identical.
I'm not in this sport bit I quit watching after the Hot Wheels car lost its position 🤷♂️
Great action packed series that I really like but those competition cautions are just complete bs as in every series where they exist. There's enough ongoing excitement and action without them.

I agree the TV coverage of this race wasn't very well done. Interview mid-race, and cutting away from the racing way too long to replay the opening spins in slow motion over and over and over.

I can't help but think they would go a lot faster if they weren't on three wheels on the corners.
That's actually wrong. Torque wheelie out of the left turn carries way more speed than if you drove with all 4 tires planted. Of course, people who have never driven an SST will find this hard to believe, but the timer doesn't lie.

I just found this kind of racing and it's my favorite. I'm a new RC hobbyist and wanting to see one of these trucks with "Team Losi" and/or Traxxas paint schemes 🙂

They got a pneumatic wrench. Hard to explain. Unless you go to pitlane and get a look.
For super trucks tho they change them with hand wrenches etc. All others do it with power tools

You'd probably enjoy supermoto races then, they have a mix of dirt and asphalt sections and are usually running slicks so it can get interesting

Matt Brabham's driving skills are too good. He made a great save on that flailing land at the last ramp. We rarely ever see him make a mistake (or take damage), but that just shows us that he is in control, and not just along for the ride!
Pretty awesome control how he corrected it and still somehow carried momentum into the corner to almost catch Gordon on the straight, top level stuff!
Kingsoupturbo Brabham went into the back of Gordon when he landed and pushed Gordon past his braking zone, so they both had compromised exits into the final straight. Gordon just barely had the edge!

If im not mistaken the mx (mx v atv) unleashed series usually had trophy/stadium trucks, but its not solely SST racing.
Almost the entire Australian forest burned, and guess what? They maintain this kind of event that pollutes af and doesn't improve anything to have a better living. I have no clue of what humanity is doing to this planet. And I DO LIKE racing but I know when to stop when it's needed.

I do love this racing!! I don't quite understand it. RG starts 1st race in pole, but starts 2nd and 3rd races dead last?!? How do they decide who starts where? Is there separate qualifying for each race and Gordon qualified First, Last, Last. That doesn't really ad up either. Does he get penalized for winning the 1st race?
That's s good question
I'm pretty sure its normal qualifying but the fastest guys start from the back. In the first race they mentioned that Brabham was the fastest and he started last. Robby possibly missed qualifying or had an issue which didn't let him make a lap. After the first race I do believe they take the finishing order and flip them around. So last place finisher will start on the pole and the winner starts last. Makes it really exciting through the race to see the fastest guys have to pick their way through the trucks and eventually try to do it in enough time to go for the win.
They do have qualifying for each race and inverted grid for the racing, robby gordon had truck problems and did not qualify (qualify last) with the inverted grid started first
as far as i know, there is a reversed grid on each of the races on a weekend
which means that RG had the slowest qt so he was forced to start first in round 1
round 2 he had to start last because of his win in round 1
about round 3 i am not sure but it was a close finish round 2 finish but brabham did win imo and RB shouldn´t have started dead last
so i only can imagine that there was somthing behind the scene going on, maybe a technical issue
