Keying in on the direct family members aspect, would it be permissible for multiple family members to use multiple devices simultaneously under a single license, or is it intended to be one user at a time under a single shared license?
I still need somebody to guide me step by step to get a GMRS. Who should I call? Apply the through internet is too confusing. It appears that allot of other options shows up that has nothing to do with GMRS license application. I wonder if I'm going down right path. What I want is to have somebody to sit with me and guide me step by step. Do I have to pay cash to have somebody help me?

Do you have to input a code once you get your license how to you get access to reach more ?? How does your radio reach more watts do i input my radio # there?
As of July 2022, the FCC has retired the CORES system so this walkthrough is somewhat outdated in the final steps. The FCC seems to have a new system to use. Unfortunately, the FCC hasn’t linked to it in an intuitive manner. One can easily get lost in a hyperlink loop.
Thanks man! Their website is confusing as shit. The only thing I would add is I had already created a CORES account before I saw your video. When I created an FRN it did not give me an option for a password, but then when I logged in I used the FRN with the CORES password and it worked. Not sure if that’s changed since your video or that happened because I had the account already. Anyway everything else was good.
I found it very helpful and appreciated the pauses so I could wrap my mind around the process. I felt confident enough to apply following this video. Thank you SO much

Horrible website, typical government webpage. It keeps giving me an "error" when I try and register. The website looks nothing like what you're showing, they must've "fixed" it.

Thank you! Good question. The FCC Part 95 says “Any individual who holds an individual license may allow his or her immediate family members to operate his or her GMRS station or stations. Immediate family members are the licensee's spouse, children, grandchildren, stepchildren, parents, grandparents, stepparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.”

When I clicked to make the payment, it only gave me the login option as if I need to start over
You’re correct in order to pay you have to login again sometimes. It will not restart the process it will just take you straight to the payment page

The FCC will assign you one! It will come in the mail with your license.
Why get one at all? Do you like spending money that you don't need to? No law says you need one.

No need! You can simply skip right to the login section and after you login with your FRN, then you just apply for a new license (left hand side)

Your GMRS license will cover your immediate family members. No need for them to register!
