I retired and purchased a 2015 MB B-class electric and love it. Does everything I need 90+% of the time. For just a few other trips like dump runs, garden supplies, etc. I use my old 2004 F150. If nothing catastrophic happens this will most likely be my last car.

For Caribbean also consider BMW i3. The BMW i3 is extremely light (carbon fiber body), no maintenance, just tires and 12V battery. Plus being in a hot climate no range loss during winter. There is an i3 owner I found with over 160K miles on the odometer and still running - ruclips.net/video/E5W1E6gPVTE/видео.html

I just bought a used 2016 B250e over the internet. Without proper research about an electric car, I just bought it as it looked really good.
When the car was delivered, it displayed the range as 41 miles and I have been charging it for the last 8hr and it is still showing as 41 miles.
Also, I just read in the below comments that replacing the car battery costs up to 15k. Is this real? I already spent 20k on this used vehicle which is 5 yrs old. The # of miles on the car is ~16k only. Is the battery going to go bad any time?
Am I scammed or I did a foolish thing buying this car?

The traction battery is reliable. It's a Tesla battery pack. Mercedes give an 8 year warranty as long as the car is serviced annually. All they do on the battery is change the two dessicant cartridges which is free (as stipulated in the owner's handbook).

1 week back I bought a used 2016 B250e online. As I do not have the Title/Temp tag yet, I parked it in my garage after it was delivered to my home. When I started the car, it displayed 41miles. So I plugged in the charger to see max miles when fully charged and forgot to unplug it. It was kept on the charge for 3 days. This afternoon when I checked the car, nothing was on display, it was shut off. I tried to lock/unlock the car with the remote key. Nothing was working. Thinking that probably I need to take out the charging cable, I removed it and closed the flap. I tried to start the car again, NO IT WON'T START.
I tried to open the charging flap thinking maybe battery is drained as I kept it for charging for 3 days. Now the charging flap won't open. I tried using a little force, nothing worked. I'm totally feeling down and scared that I got scammed and lost all the money. Except the rare hatch door, other doors were unlocked since I brought the car into my garage. I cannot open this rare hatch door now, its locked. I was able to open it 3 days back.
Any suggestions from anyone why the charge flap is stuck/locked and why am I not able to start the car? It displayed 41 miles 3 days back, now the display screen is off.

@@danielone06 Thank you for responding, you are savior. The driver and passenger car doors are open. To lock/unlock these doors, is the battery needs to be in good shape? Before buying the car, I had it checked by a mechanic and he reported all good with the car. I'm surprised that the battery could have drained, not sure why and how. I want to suppress the bad feeling I'm getting and I hope it's just the battery - I guess replacement is around $150-200

This car kills the 12V battery every two years. I put in an LiFePO4 12V battery and it has been going strong for four years now. Lighter and totally worth it. Pros: Tesla motor, Tesla battery. Cons: Front wheel drive with skinny tires can't get going on a hill in the rain. Mercedes plastic seats stink like plastic forever. Mercedes thinks you need to pay their garage every year.
