  • The B-Class is powered by an advanced high voltage battery pack. As you drive, the battery charge is consumed, much the way a conventional car uses gasoline. Learn more about your B-Class Electric Drive, and how to re-charge your vehicle in this video.

    Why did Mercedes skip the fast charge option? Seams like a no-brainer. I noticed the RAV4 did the same thing. Both have partnerships with Tesla. Was there an behind the scenes arrangement with Tesla to not offer this feature as it might canibalize Tesla sales? I guess if it was behind the scenes, you won't likely admit it on a public comment on here...The i3 REX looks pretty impressive with its Range Extender....

    How do you check for battery degradation? The leaf has bars.

    My B Class is brand new and I have never seen it read higher than 71 miles at the start of a fully-charged battery on the display despite it being 100% full.

      *4 years ago right 2015 - Well I was in Dortmund in late 2016 as a selected number of high priority customers, and can now reveal that in 2020 Mercedes is launching a Hybrid 'A' & 'B' Class that will cover up to 50 Miles pure electric, and astounding MPG overall. Such is progress. I have a B200CDi AMG (W246) which is fantastic and have achieved max of 74.3 MPG and 143 MPH (Not at the same time) but overall 20k + Miles 52.4 MPG with a lot of high speed/Town and Local Runs.*

    Can i used the provided 120 charger in 240 volt outlet ?!?

      Likely not but a modern charge cord can be used like that and are around $100. In 2017 they worked like that but not in 2014 etc... depends on year of your car.

      It lets you charge to 93% of the battery instead of 77%. EPA rating of 105 miles vs 87. More if you drive slower.

      However, in most real world situations, you’ll get around 95

    Mercedes VASTLY undersold & downplayed this car. I've had mine for several years and its performance exceeds specs. I routinely get 100 miles to a single charge. And it only takes 8 hours, not 30 to full charge but even that is from 0% to 100%. They should have highlighted that is does from 15% to 70% in under 3 hours. And mind you this is a low 120 v, you won't notice it on your electric bill. You can do 240v and charge the whole thing in under an hour, that 15-70% in under 20 min. It's incredibly quick (tesla motor) with room for a family and cargo. I've owned a few Mercedes and this one surprised me as my favorite. Went to production before EV's were cool, I guess.

    *Check out your **_Electric Bill,_** and you will quickly realise this is not saving 'fuel' costs by much, it will on most cases take at least 12 years to recoup additional costs. However 'You are Saving The Planet" so sleep easy ! and you now have a 21st Century Miracle - a Car that can do around 100 Miles on Electric Power, after that Push & Shove !*

      I don't have this particular electric car... I have a used i3. I've gone from 100$ per month in gas to 25$ a month in electricity. Not sure if it's saving the planet but it's been a blast to drive!

    • @MylesV
      @MylesV 3 года назад +1

      I went from $200/month on gas with a hybrid to $30/month in electric with an EV. I wake up with a full charge each morning, 100 miles is more than enough. My car was $12k used so no additional costs over a similar gas car.

      @@MylesV are you in the US? I’m looking at one as well as my gas is about $225 month as my daily commute is 60 miles. What year do you have? I thought the range only went to 80 miles. Thanks!
