Hi im nee to using Tech 2. Just bought it. On a saab 9-3 year 2000 I fitted a second hand twice unit from the breakers yard. Along the way someone said I had to change the vin of the car I think to match the vin of the twice unit before I could program it in to the car. Then to change the vin back afterwards. Do you know anything about this? Heres the message I see on most screens. Wrong selection made! Please check selected model year. Or if there is an invalid vehicle identification number in DICE
When I first tried my tech two I plugged it into the candi module then plugged that into the obd. It said to me candi module detected. Please unplug. What?

Um wait.. I'm confused.. my car isn't starting because the key needs to be reprogrammed... Somehow my key got disconnected from the security unit and the mechanic I bought it from said I would need a mechanic with a tech2 program to reprogram the key
Hi came across this video i have a 2011 Saab 9-5 that has some codes that need to clear try other code readers they don’t work how can I get a copy of TIS2000 your help would be appreciated thanks
If you can't clear the code with a standard reader, its probably a persistent code -- one that will stay there until the error condition is resolved. Even if you code remove it, it would pop back up. As far as getting TIS2000, with a 2011 you'd also need a subscription (they increased the security in the later models.) There are folks on the Facebook groups that can probably help you get around that.
How did you get your vin and car info to stay in tis2000? When I put in doesn't save and only lets me have type 3 access. How did you get it to give Type 1 access?
I also have a tech 2. Are you familiar with headlight leveling malfunction?! I had no issue whatsoever until I thought it was a good idea to calibrate the headlights by adding ahl and that when I got the message! Any help would be greatly appreciated .

I've got a 2003 Saab 9-3 Arc. In order to add any module, I needed a computer running XP 32 bit and Tis2000 with Security Access along with a Tech2 and the Candi adaptor. Lots of handshaking. Good luck!
Don't bother trying to get this running on a modern computer directly. You'll need to use a Virtual Machine (eg: VMWare Workstation/Fusion) with a Windows XP install. I'm having trouble talking to my GM tech 2. I have a windows computer with windows 7 a GM tech 2 with a usb-serialport-ethernet and cant seem to get the computer and tech 2 talking. I also don't have the security access program inside my TIS2000 any way to point me in the right direction to get the files?
The serial adaptor is a real issue with the Tis2000. You need to get a USB adaptor that is verified to work. Check the forums and they'll link a few that have been confirmed.

do you need to re-connect the laptop everytime you program the same saab?Or does the tech 2 remember the security once put in?
From what I've used, it'll at least have security access for the last VIN permitted. It might keep it for more than one, though.

Why do you need a laptop? Can't you go from the Tech2 to the OBDIi port...?

2008-2009 is the latest cars you will have access to, that's when gm moved from software release CDs to the web, not 2000 as you stated on the video..

scorpiomaj27 there is an issue with the alarm module. Just goggle it, you'll find a way to fix it or send it to get fix and you don't need a Tech2
