Magnificent capture! And the ATC communication makes all the money! Biiiig like!
Totally agree!
Only recently did I learn about this airport ("Saint Martin in the Med') or otherwise I would have watched this years ago.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
The plane done a go around
At 1:02
haha :-D you made my day
It was actually at 0:59.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
@@Matmamtmamtmamtmamtm Spoil sport! Bet you're the life and soul at a bbq.
Fabulous as always from you...like others have said, having the ATC commentary really makes it!
I was there that day when this Thomas Cook A321 did a go around due to the wind,i'am in the crowd,a great day.
This runway is only 5,341 feet long. No room for errors.
That was amazing! I flew into Skiathos in July (G-TCDX) its funny because I had a go around at Stansted on the way back on G-TCDJ
GREAT capture!!

Very good video mate!
Has to be quiet special to see such a low Go-Around at Skiathos!
mmmmm that beautiful sound of an airliner going from near zero throttle to max. So erotic
Everyone be like: JEREMY GET THE CAMERA
The pilot: sike u aint seein landing today suckerss
picture perfect landing???? it was a hard landing!!!!
I mean, please show us how to do it better, on a 1600 metre runway :)
great catch!
Some time i need to go there too :D Maybe catch a Volotea 717 to get there.

imagine if you're just a tourist there, not an aviation geek/guy who knows anything aviation - and you see this aircraft about to touch down increase power and climbed instead.
MY FAVORITE AIRBUS✈✈
Top job mate!Better to go-around if in doubt. He certainly powered it away.Get the job done l say!Great😎👍!

why the 1st pleane didnt land?
Killer! That rocked.
Too dam high. Fail.
It was actually a tailwind they were worried about....
Uh, ALL Go-Arounds must be "powerful," or you crash.
Actually, there is reduced thrust go around (GA) and full go around (N1) in Boeing aircraft, whereas the Airbus has the equivalents of TOGA and GA SOFT (retrofit/recently introduced).
So much of audience made the pilot nervous hence took a second attempt!!!
I know the pressure of trying to make your designated Latest Touchdown Point 😳 Check out yesterday’s post on my channel where I talk about my first landing on a short runway in the 737!
My first thought was, if they had a 13 knot tailwind on the first attempt, why didn't they try landing from the opposite direction? There was some ATC comms discussing the wind on the second attempt, but I could not understand it.
Thanks for watching! At 00:09 the wind was reported as 060/4 (4 knots headwind) when they were cleared to land. This wind measurement, however, is taken from a 10m/33ft height at a designated measurement point at the airport - it can differ on final approach, especially when winds are light and variable. The pilots got a reading of their actual wind from the aircraft's instruments. Stay tuned for more Skiathos videos!
The second reason is because the runway 02 has 1% upslope, so it helps so decelerate. In this case, when the wind is variable and considering the fact that the runway is pretty short, it’s better to use runway 02
Misleading thumbnail...
*10 inches away from actual go around shown in the video*
omg frikin misleading
@@CMGTHELABEL it wouldn't have enough space to go around any lower than that. And no, the thumbnail was taken from the actual landing, so it isn't misleading...
Demetri, was this landing of the Monarch A-321 the only approach final and aborted landing you had witnessed from this day of spotting, or were there others as well? Is a swelling up of a brisk tailwind, with no specific warning, a common occurrence at Skiathos? Your video is a superb exercise in videography. Also, If you're following the hurricane relief efforts on the Leeward Islands of the Eastern Caribbean, here is a link to The Cable News Network (CNN), and a relief news story from that region: LINK: www.cnn.com/2017/09/13/americas/hurricane-irma-caribbean-one-week-on/index.html
RIP Thomas Cook in Canary Islands is popular for Holidays
I think I saw this plane while at the beach of Skopelos' Adrina Resort. Can you tell me when it was shot?
Demetris, is that my photo being used in the FR24 shot at 1:33?? 😂
AWESOME catch! ATC adds a lot, big like!
The pilot was distracted by everyone taking photos.
Awesome video mate!
Amazing video, what scanner are you using??
Great catch! Awesome you got to visit Skiathos again!
Nice Catch Mate.
Awesome catch man.
Thanks a lot! Feel free to check out my new Skiathos videos from 2022!
Ouch he planted that
Better safe than another go-around!
Amazing Greek island summer...
i remember thomas cook
Me too. Flew with them once.
RIP Thomas Cook😔
They were very regular visitors at JSI, at least you can still hear the Viking callsign for Sunwing flights.
WOW! Absolutely stunning!
Canon makes a badass camera. Well done
That was absolutely epic!!!
Okay now imagine that space shuttle were able to do go around. wow ...
L' Aviateur that is the definition of spaceplane
It was a very nice video friend
Thomas Cook is my Uncle
It’s Zakinthos Airport
Is it just me who really struggles to understand what they say on Atc sometimes
Jack Smith It's not just you. It's mainly because the recordings we get don't keep 100% of their original quality, and also, you must be a bit adapted to them because they talk in a quite specific way.
Thanks for the subs.
Very nice catch!
Great work Demetris ...
Awesome nice one!
Wow, that was nice!
yo
Yo!
Excellent video!
WOW!!!!! :)
Fantastic
I thought thomas cook on.y had a 757 XD
Who has 757s these days, TC are nearly all Airbus now
Wonderful!
Dude, this video is lit af

I wonder how people like to be burnt by radio altimeter , doopler and weather radar that radiate rays as microwaves oven but on aircraft it has many kilowatts.
Friend of mine got leukemia and died soon ,diagnosis was that he was irradiated, probably by aircraft radar because he worked as aircraft mechanic.
So good luck in catching low passing and miss apps
Makan
Possibly
However leukemia can have many triggers.
I was on that plane and felt more scary on board than it looked on video.Lots of tears and screaming on board but then big round of applause on second successful landing
Why applaud, he is doing his job
Crute Martyn I was cool with it but many people we scared it's a scary place to land any way.Yes he was doing his job but did it very well I think the applause was relief from he's that were scared.
SnowyOwl Have you ever landed there?Lots of passengers don't like flying and there is no room for error at all there.Only 10% of pilots can land there not like your big international airports where planes nearly land themselves.Look at the air Italy landing there a couple of years ago and see how much of a near miss that was..Don't diss people who are scared there will be something that scares you thar doesn't bother them.
Makes me scared to fly
How so?
This is only a go around a completely normal thing for a plane to do.
