Glad to see Rusty seems back to his perky self. Yay! Stay safe Mr Clutch and Rusty. 🙏💕
I noticed that your trailer license plate light is on. This is usually connected to the same circuit as the tail lights. Multiple tail lights are out, suggesting that it is a common connection issue to all the tail lights (only). I suspect a ground connection first, then the common place where both the tail lights and license plate light come together.
You’re right. Bare wire on frame
check the pigtail and contacts on the tractor/trailer connection? Stay safe and thanks for the update Clutch!
Mr.smarty britches rusty doing his adorable doggie dance 😊ya'll warm and most of all be safe
Over 40 years ago i was a mechanic at the original Sapp Brothers and many times the ice would cause damage to the truck and trailer wires.
Yep
That cereal/lignite gig is workin nice. Ride the wave baby. 😂
Try running a jumper wire in your light cord plug. Look at the plug, not the top one, but the one left and right from the top. The marker lights have 2 different circuits, a jumper wire ties them together. When pulling doubles I had a light cord end with the jumper wire, so when there was a problem, I could plug in the cord to the rear of the rear trailer and all the lights would work.
It was a miracle that it broke down in the day time. I never lucked out like that lol. And trailer light problem can cause a man to go crazy. I hope it is nothing serious they can find it fast for you.
You might clean your pins and spread them. Check your pig tail. Maybe its loose.
Small easy fixes , trailer lights always have problems. Fox lights save the day nice! Stay safe Clutch & Rusty!
Used to love that Oren jct. Truckstop. It was like 20 plus years ago but a nice couple used to run it
Still not bad. Always my stop after getting loaded in Glenrock
Love the dashcam, I never got to drive wet of the Mississippi (two times to Cali from NC, but no other states.. Also, I drove for a Mom Pop company (MST- Roseboro, NC) so, we had a toolbox and fixed what we could until we got back to the shop. Every nickel and dime counts and easy(simple) repairs save hundreds and thousands. I would love to see the remodel. I saw a portable freezer, not a fridge, and would like to have one myself; along with a fridge. I could cook meals at home, freeze, and heat up along the road. Yet, if I want some other food I would buy it, but home-cooked is the best!
Clutch, some time when you are on a 34, I think it would be interesting to see you cooking a meal..
Ok
There are 111 updates on my remodel project. Scroll deep under the video tab to see them
Just a quick thank you for your channel. Have a great week 😊
Thank you! You too!
I had the hard time wit my head lights and windshield wipers on my Coronado. Ever time it would rain the bulb on the headlights would blow. OMG what a pain. Stay safe brother
Ever since I started using the LED bulbs. Haven’t had that problem. Look up Auxbeam on Amazon. They are cheap. And work great
Morning clutch your a busy man. Hope you get your lites fixed. I got two of those foxfire lights. I use them for hauling long loads. I bought them a few years ago at farm dealer a few years ago for 35.00. Tough lite. Say hi to rusty.
I forgot to mention on the last video that it is great that it was just the food that bothered him. I am glad it was not something more. My mom used to give the cats tuna as well when they were not eatting or feeling well.
Tuna is good for dogs and us when we have stomach issues
Quick plastic a poxy kit would come in handy😊
Hey Clutch - I'm glad the TA did NOT over-charge for the Fox Fire lights. I know it can be a "rare" thing - but not everything is over-priced at TA/Petro at least in the Truck Service area.
Yes
You could always run with your hazard flashers on too!
Yep. Did that till I got the FoxFire lights
Very good video thanks for sharing
My lower radiator hose let go yesterday. Which caused, yep 11 gallons of coolant come shooting out. All because of a clamp, Luckily I was parked when it happened.
So glad it wasn’t in the roadside. You won that battle
Those Alliance brand red coolant are the cheapest to purchase from the dealership. They are the same thing the manufacturer puts in your truck and it’s way cheaper (half price) than the Peak brand. I carry a dozen gallons under my trailer storage compartment
It is a shame when they did the work they did not replace this hose as well.
You can jumper that low coolant sensor with a paper clip or short piece of solid wire if you ever have a slight leak that takes you below the sensor but there's still antifreeze in there enough to get you down the road a little bit...
Yep. Done that before
Thank you always💯❤🐕
I feel your pain. I had my coolant line going to the apu bust last week. Lucky I was able to close the cut off valves up front and get coolant delivered. I put it in and got load delivered then crawled under the truck over the weekend to cut the hose and put coupling in and good to go.
Glad it was an easy fix. I got an email saying this month they start new reward and did away with gear 5.
Really. Interesting about gear five. Thanks Tony
Heya Clutch 🤠 . I know it sucks when a roadside gremlin pops up unexpectedly but I love it when it turns out to be a stupid simple repair & that's a great idea and quick thinking on those Foxfire lights 🤓 . I worked @ Western trailer in Boise for a couple years and I'm thinking the issue with your running lights is either a loose ground wire or a loose or broken connection. You just need to trace your tail light wiring from one end of the trailer to the other but it doesn't matter which end you start at & if the wiring junction box is in the same location we used at Western you'll find it underneath the trailer on the inside of the frame rail about halfway between the landing gear and the rear tires. Hopefully you find the issue in a matter of a few minutes and it turns out to be something stupid simple as well 🤓 ..
Was a bare wire hitting the frame from a top marker light
You are the man.
If ain't one thing it's another... Stay safe neighbor!
Always
Those Firefox lights will come in handy in the future. Aaaasnd literally as i write this an oversize carrying steel beams pulls up next to me with amber ones on the overhang....
😂
Try wedging something in between the pigtail and the connector on the trailer to make a tighter connection that usually works
Not the connection. It was the upper marker light wire causing a short
Your trailer has 2 circuits that do the marker lights. A cheap test light at the back of the truck can make sure both those circuits are getting power. Usually a diagram on the cap of the trailer what each pin does and the color code. Verify you have power there on both and you’ll know its not the truck. Hate to see ya pay a couple hundred bucks to the trailer shop for diagnostics if its a fuse issue. If you have power there and on your green cord then i’d let the trailer shop take a look.
They started with that. That’s a good shop.
What a coincidence I just had coolest leak on my def heater lines had me shut down for over 24 hrs. We had to wait for the parts to come in and then it took about 5hrs to fix it.
Ouch
It's your cable and where it's connects to trailer loss or worn out loss wire at seven pin
No. That was first check
Yeah buddy!!
Hello from Mars
Having pressure test on coolant saves a.ot of problems. I don't get one often enough.
But didn’t have to pressure test when I saw it spewing out! 😂
Anything from a truck stop is costly💲💲. Even washer fluid 2 for $10.00 at some places in CO.😱
Yep. And $1.64 at Walmart
Dig the weather, what will the weather be in March? Safe travels!!! 🙏🙏🤞✌️👍🌭🌭🌭🍔
Who knows
Wooooooo!!!!!!!!
Check the trailer light fuse
👍🖖
Have you tried running a hot wire from ground-to-ground to test? Cause that's what it looks like just a bad ground off of a certain circuit😮
And it was. A short from the top marker lights onto frame
12v test lite ?
Hi, could it be your power cable? I've had situations where some of my trailer lights weren't working, and I swapped cables and all the lights worked. I keep a spare power with me.
The shop had a tester for the cable. That’s where they started. It was a short on an upper marker light
You have a hand pull hand trailer breakto test your break lights😮
Yes
And since they're only magnetic, you probably want to pull them off and put them inside with you. So somebody does not get a five finger discount😮😢
They’re tucked away. 😂
Sounds like you've got a massive air leak
Now fixed.
Ok I’ve got to ask why is Rusty called the meatball dog?
When I was a kid acting silly. My parents always said I was being a meatball. That’s where it comes from. Because Rusty is silly
Those spring clamps are horrible
Yes!!!!!!!!
Just passed ya, hwy 29 Thorp WI
Yep. Heading to Chippewa falls to get trailer lights fixed
@@ClutchTrucker go get em tiger
black wire in cord
Check for sabotage 😮😢
No. Just worn wires
All the marker lights have the same power but different grounds so if some of the lights work it’s a ground issue
It was. Bare wire on metal frame
On cold nites do you stay warm up in your bed? Better yet How do you stay warm?
Got an APU providing heat up there through duct work I added during the remodel. Plus, I over insulated the box extension
