If you are going to have a quad rail on a garand, might as well fit a grenade launcher on there. the allies used rifle grenades during the war, but they had to hand load blanks that came with the grenades. having the launcher be a tube under the barrel would have saved a lot of time
"do you actually have an engineering degree?" "ya, i graduated" "did we interview him at all?" "NO!" bit when you find out a guy you hired is likely smarter than you are.
Smarter in engineering. I’ve met many engineers and BA/BS degree holders of other various degrees that couldn’t point out Siberia on a map, telling me why the crusade started, the difference between a cetacean and crustacean, etc. Degrees do not make you smart, unless you are Garand Thumb; I hear just breathing, makes anyone smarter. 😝 Not a dig at you. I’m just tired of many people (with/without degrees) assuming a degree or graduating college makes you smart. The amount of people who cheat to get through and get useless degrees is staggering. That’s why many graduates never use their degree in the work force. I’m a career bartender and the amount of servers who graduated college is about every other. They all walk around so pompous and constantly berate “the system” for failing them, but they chose “social work”, “art”, and other low paying degrees. Their attitude also suggest working in “the industry” is beneath them and those who made a career of it are “dumb”, yet they can’t find a “real” job.
@@syn4057 engineers(of all types) have the lowest unemployment rate out of any major. You can still very rare find bad or dumb engineers, but on average they are smarter than the average person.
@@duitk when did I disparage engineers? When did I say they couldn’t find jobs, get low pay, or have useless degrees? I know two bartenders who have engineering degrees; one decided not to go into computer engineering and the other didn’t want the stress of mechanical engineering or like his peers. I know they decided not to pursue their degrees, so you will find at least two. To assume engineers are smarter than the average person is assuming a lot. Better at doing engineering stuff? Absolutely. Are there engineers that know a lot more stuff than engineering? Absolutely. But just having an engineering degree or any degree, doesn’t make you smarter. That’s all I said. Jack of all trades is the master of none, but is oftentimes better than the master of one.

@Solo Renegade But making a Gucci M14 makes more sense. An M14 is already an "improved" M1 Garand. It's chambered in 7.62x51/.308, it has a detachable box magazine, and it's got an improved gas system, among other differences. The M14 has already been modified into the EBR among other variants. Why start from a more restrictive platform?

In all semi-seriousness, if you were to time travel to go back and fight in WW2, this would be the best gun to take with you. Edit: People responding with weapons using calibers that weren't commonly used at the time didn't understand the assignment, lol
The Garand was indeed a wonderful invention, ahead of its time. Deadly, reliable, and accurate. Too bad they had to strap it to a telephone pole. Today however, an 8-round en bloc clip makes it a sentimental way to revisit a bygone era. I live a few miles from Gallenson's, an amazing smorgasbord of guns and ammo that will make you drool. If you're ever in Salt Lake City, look it up. And yes, they just love to tinker with guns. That being said, the Garand has been fine-tuned throughout the years, which makes tinkering with the gas system an 'iffy' proposition. What works well in an indoor range sometimes goes screwy in the field.
I haven't been in a while because it's me least favorite 15 minute drive in America, but they are so consistently decent that I also know I couldn't go in there without buying shit I wasn't planning on. One of my fondest memories, no shit there I was in basic at Ft Benning GA. We were training on digging fighting positions, and after digging for what seemed to be hours, my battle buddy and I dug up what seemed to be some cloth material. I couldnt imagine what that guy was thinking when he buried those two in the ground or what he was trying to hide hahaha
I WANTED to hate that rifle, but I just couldn't. Probably has to do with that Sage stock. Those ARE pretty sweet. If only I could run one on one of my M14s. They both are rear lugged recievers, BTW. Great review, quite impressive over all. Thx.

I'm not going to lie. That doesn't look as bad as I had in mind. It actually looks half decent.
The lack of a front iron sight as well as any ability to use back-up co-witness due to both the height-over-bore and the fact the holo sight model is effectively a solid brick makes this gun gross to me.

Not as cool at 2 Nazis walking into a Garand
If you are going to have a quad rail on a garand, might as well fit a grenade launcher on there. the allies used rifle grenades during the war, but they had to hand load blanks that came with the grenades. having the launcher be a tube under the barrel would have saved a lot of time
Or you could keep a shotshell like the hornets nest in it lol
15 rounds of .22 in case of a moving target
I would rather have an M79 grenade launcher that can get passed around.

Not a dig at you.
They can't tell you why or when the crusades started because that is not their specialty, they also make the most upon starting out of any 4 year degree, people who get engineering degrees don't have useless degrees you won't find them bartending and are definitely smarter than most of the population.

Slade's design on that optics riser sure is nice! Can't wait to see what the SC Irregulars/irregular defense option looks like!
