  • Having canned beef, canned venison, or canned pork on your shelf makes mealtime so quick and easy! The longest part of cooking any meal is cooking the meat. This is ready to serve and eat! It makes it's own gravy. This is great served over rice, noodles, or potatoes.
    The same canning process works for pork, beef, or venison.

    I just did some beef roast from my freezer. I'll use it later to make a quicker vegetable beef soup.
    Awesome that y'all got some venison.

    My Goodness, I just love you! ❤ My spouse bought me an American canner a couple of years ago. I have been so afraid to do it. Well... I wasn't until my neighbor said, I hope you don't blow up your house. You are giving my guts to do it. 😅 Do have a certain jar you like best? He bought me several Ball ones but I heard something complain once about the lids. I am embarrassed to say all of this especially since I am from Arkansas and my Grandmother's and Mom canned. I look forward to your videos. ❤

      Girl you can do it! If yours is All American everyone says that a top of the line! It doesn't have a rubber seal but locks tightly by screwing down those bolts. I don't have a preference for jars. I have Ball, Kerr, Mason...I usually order my lids and rings on Amazon or pick up at Walmart. (Ball). Looks like you have some good supplies!

      @@AtHomewithMrsJoan I am excited now! I am going to get my canner out of the garage. Sadly It's still in the box. I'll be canning this weekend! Thanks you, Mrs. Joan! I've got the Courage! You explained it perfectly. I love you and your little family. You and Jordan remind me of myself and my Momma. ❣️ We are always cutting up. Much love to you all. And thanks again. God 🙏 Bless Y'all.

    Thank you for showing me that you can add some liquid to the raw pack so the meat gets covered. There's never enough broth in the end for us. Now there will be!

    I have a question. I'm new to using a pressure canner. I don't know how to find the elevation for Smithville, MS and what weight I'm supposed to use. Any help would be appreciated.

      You can search Google for the elevation where you live. Ask how far above sea level is your town. Hope this helps. Below 1,000 feet is 10 pounds of pressure. That's what I am.

    I have a legit question and i just dont know the answer to this.
    Ive canned both raw and cooked meat. Sometimes the hambuger ive done smells like a canned dog food. I dont know how else to describe it. Do you know why that would be? Am i just being too sensitive?

    • @AtHomewithMrsJoan
      @AtHomewithMrsJoan  6 месяцев назад

      I don't have the answer as we grind our own meat to make the ground meat (hamburger) so I know what is actually in our meat. I'm wondering what's actually in what you bought up to pressure can that's other than pure meat that might produce the smell. I understand as I have a sensitive smell too. Let me know what you learn . This is only my guess.
