eeMore.com and MaxxMMA asked us to preview some of their new offerings. I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun this piece of equipment was to train on. Great for beginning students and still a fair workout for more experienced athletes. Definitely a good starting point if you find a double end ball too fast or too hard to control.

that jumping knee was super slick. i tried it and hit my head on the ceiling.
I hit mine with an uppercut and popped the bag... these are fun like he said for beginners but if you have the space go with the heavy/speed bag combo. Thanks for taking your time for us with the video!
Dont punch slow just because the bag rebounds slowly. I think its better to wait for it to come up more, TIME the shot, and pop it quickly. Dont get in the habit of throwing slow punches.
Agreed!
Agreed also!
+Curt Shaw i disagree. for a beginner u concentrate on the fundamentals and technique first. know matter how slow. so slow in the beginning for a beginner is a good. disagree with that !! paTNNNA!
Um, its a demo video...
Curt Shaw agreed. I find myself punching slowly sometimes so I'll focus on popping the punches fast then snapping back to high covers or various guards and letting the bag hit me.
I can't avoid thinking your neighbor form the lower floor listening to it and thinking "damn, there goes that maniacal again with that old spring mattress!"
lol
lol literally. I live on a 4th floor apartment and have a reflex bag, I don't know if my downstair neighbors notice, but if they do, at least they think it's just sex lol
You have to be courteous to your neighbors for sure! LOL
I cut a foam noodle so it can wrap around the metal. It provides some protection. Also, I lightly hit the foam to get better at closing the gap with a low kick.
Hi from France, thank you very much for your video, as beginner your instructions are very helpful!
Excellent! Keep it up!
They need to make these models faster
Spring at the bottom =s slowest - spring nearer the top are fastest - Cobra Reflex bag top notch. This is a good beginner bag
I did not even think about adding a weight to the bottom. Thank you for the tips!! Going to try blocking and jump knees now.
Its pretty decent, if you want the real thing join a boxing gym. This a great product for those with limited space who still want to participate in light to medium reflex work out. Theres benefits to everything our job is to find them.
Just got one today. Noticed it's easy to tip over, so i tried putting my weight's on it, except that mines were those cheap small plastic ones that wouldn't fit too well. But damn i love this bag. Whoever said bags don't hit back, hasn't been smacked by this bag at the rebound. You gotta be careful not to hit to low or else you'll hit the metal portion of it. (It all makes sense now, never did understood why that was their beforehand on some bags). It works up a sweat definitely. I try working around it, dodging, or hitting straight, trying to keep it wobbling only forward an back sometimes, to work on my straights punches. Or side to side to work the hooks and crosses. I also practice super short throws to get a feel of fighting in confined spaces. After that, i started looking for videos on the tube, and that's when i found you're video. great demonstration, and i was even surprised to find that you too used weights to support you're bag. Except actual bigger metal weights, then the shitty plastic cement filled ones that i have lol. And the ending of you're video is just painfully adorable. And i definitely will get my son to have a go later on when he gets big enough. He's just (2 1/2) , in all honestly, he's a tough little dude who hits pretty hard. I got him little boxing gloves and even found a little heavy bag. And he wrestles with this funny cute toy rubber goat that's bigger then he is. So, i think our kids will do alright in school lol. Although i'm not trying to raise a bully neither, so he receives discipline as well. Teach them young so they grow up with it. What i always say.
You give the training with the reflex ball a new meaning man. Thanks. Great demo. I just decided to add one to my home training equipment.
Keep up the good work :)
I completed a double end ball and speed bag video too! Let me know if you guys have questions!
Looks perfect for practicing dodges with. If you can reduce the amount of times you get struck in a fight, you'll increase your chances of success being that you'd take less kinetic force than your opponent. Not to mention dodging their punches wears them out as well.
these are fun to use for sure. i have an everlast one but its not too strong. it broke but i modified it for body strikes
thank you for explaining! my brother just got one of these and I wanted to know how to best utilize it, and this video was really helpful!
I always use the heavy wide bag 150 and skinny 100lbs bags, this is good, you move around and punch it, even with hooks and upper cuts-elbows and blocks as well. But I couldn't see myself doing round house or front leg kicks, i might brake it unless I used it for timing and for techniques
Yes, Manny, this bag I think is best for upper body strikes only. I will be sharing a Heavy bag demo soon, and I will add the leg kicks and combinations too!
I need to get my 10 year old doing what your girls are doing, good work and thanks for the videos sir!
I'm glad I watched it until the end. That kid is working the bag is super cute!
Your demo tipped me over t
he edge to get one.... Cheers
looks awesome, i was told not to get one of these by a mate but since i moved to a smaller place difinatley getting one but i think i might end up looking like that little girl at the end
I practice peak a boo style on mine,it is really helpful in teaching me how to slip
Nice work, looks like it can help eye hand coordination, depth perception, targeting, motion, I like how you blended elbow strikes too.
Ray...you're a fucking genius for putting a weight on the stand! I am definitely getting a reflex bag now!
perfect.. I'm getting this instead of a punching bag😎
Thank you dude for the vid I just got one them bags your demonstration is appreciated
Thank you for the positive feedback!
Best review so far, i learned so much watching you move and what i can do to better bag for myself. No 1Teacher
Thanks for the demo. I just bought one on a whim and was looking for a decent way to use it. You just motivated me to work this thing. Thanks again.
I never thought of doing that.. I have 45 plates all over the place, great tip, gonna do that now for weight to hold down my stand... awesome you got your lil princesses learning those skills!! peace
I like how everyone says its too slow. BUY A SPEED BAG THEN! 😂 , I wouldn't want that bar flying back at me super fast anyways. Nice video im gonna have to invest in one of these.
good review. I just got myself a reflex bag and am trying to find a way to increase the spring tension so it doesn't fly away to the same extent. I should add that i am blind so obviously I am needing the bag to return to where I am punching as quickly as possible. Unfortunately at the moment I just don't have the set up for a heavy bag and boxing gives me the best work out i've ever had and isn't boring like other exercises. Anyone reading this who has come up with some make shift ways of getting the bag to return to it's starting position quicker would be welcome. Cheers
thank u!! now i can add this to my new studio to get list. keep up the great work!
The cobra bag from Ringside is Simply the best, too bad they don't make they any more
It seems like things on video are always moving slower than in real life, especially when being filmed with a phone and not some professional camera. But if the bar was stationary at the bottom and had the spring part in the middle of the bar than it would move a lot faster, when it moves from the bottom it has a lot more space to move and it’s going to slow it down a lot.
Nice presentation! Cheers!
Thanks man! I appreciate your support!
Great review! The ending part is classic!
This doesn't look half bad as a piece of training equipment. I've seen something similar to this but on a smaller scale. Russian boxer, Vasyl Lomachenko, ties one end of an elastic string to the brim of a hat and the other end to a tennis ball. As he punches the tennis ball, it shoots out and comes back at different angles, forcing him to track it with his eye and adjust his punches. It achieves a similar purpose as this.
There is a similar but more function equipment sold on the Amazon which name "spinning bar".I used to buy one fron Innolife
Thanks
Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome. I just got one of these and I needed some movement inspiration
Congratulations
I am getting one soon. I am using it for taekwondo training. it be good for me and my techniques.
Nice review. I think i need this during this times. Hey can the spring be adjusted to the middle for quicker bounce and return?
There is an adjustment bar that prevents the bending angle. Or get the newer versions w the spring high up as those are faster.
Thanks for the vid.. Got one. No gloves or pump included, but the ball i also somekind of plastic foam not with air inside. Guess an upgrade from that version.
Did you buy the Everlast? That’s the only solid head/bag I’ve seen.
@@RayWhiteMMA Yeah i bought an Everlast. Been good so far..
Yes, that be nice please, I can't wait to see the video-:)
great tool
Oh man...watching the kids at the end. That's adorable! :-D
Nice thank you man I appreciate the content
Nice review. Im gonna buy the ringside reflex bag. Its the most heavy duty & its only $99
Now over 1 million views!
Great video!
Thank you 🙏🏼
I'd like buy this for training at home. Dou you recommend it? I heard some complaints about, such as it collapses too early, can be broken easily from the bottem and the ball breaks off.
Are you able to adjust the spring for a faster reflex when you hit it ?
Yes you can stiffen it so it doesn’t bend as far.
Good démonstration !
+Fabien Sanchëz thanks Fabien
Ola
Yo me hice una pero con el resorte más fuerte para tener más velocidad. 👍🥊
Man thanks for a great review!
Is it recommended to use the ball with gloves or is it just fine without them ?
if your gonna hit it hard, it is recommended to wear gloves and if you have strong bones you can just not wear it.
I didn't wear my glove, so now my wrist hurts a little.
cant find this particular bag anywhere. are the everlast ones as good?
yea, they're pretty good as well
It starts al 5:25.
Nice. Good explanation.
What gloves are good to use? My husband has one in the garage and I want to try using it too.
For 99$ not bad! Great for kids. Also solution for the bar being hit a pool noodle and some duct tape would work on the cheap. 👍🏼
is it too loud for an apartment?
Richard Leston Exactly my question
Richard Leston 4
No ive got one here and im 14.but im punching really hard it isnt too loud just a bit sound.
Yeah for me it pretty lound with that spring and the sound of hitting bag
Richard Leston no
Really good demo. Can anyone tell me what amount of space I'd need to properly work out on this?
Probably a good 10x10 area so you can circle around it. but if you had a narrow area you'd just have to adjust how you use it.
I need me one of these...would be quite useful.
If you have a shed or garage with a decent wooden or metal beam then a Floor to ceiling ball is a far better tool for this type of thing. They don't cost too much & you will get a far better workout on one. Check them out on RUclips, there are lots of good videos.
Thanks for the video. Bless
Can it be used as cardio workout
dear mr. white.
I just got one of these and it looks just like yours. but i destroyed the head. i punched it so much and now it wont hold air. any idea where i can get a new head?
I have an everlast Worldwide reflex bag I am not to happy with.......have you used the everlast Bag, if yes how would u compare it to this product???
Robert Gomez Haven't used the everlast one, but if I remember it has more joints in it so it moves a little differently. You may want to try a double end ball if you are looking for more challenge.
3:50 whats the name of the gloves youre taking please
just got mine but and having an issue with it. I don't think im punching it too hard? but ive used it twice and the bottom of the leather is starting to rip? Is anyone else having this problem?
Can you move the spring to a differnet height
No spring itself does not move.
Should I get this or a heavy bag????
How loud is this thing? Can I use it in an apartment?
The spring on your one looks rather softer compared to mine, small jabs dont make mine swing twice until i hit the crap out of it.. Is mine normal?
buk lau lol nice name ya yours is normal mine is the same way he has a different reflex bag
its satisfying
I agree!
Who makes the brand with the spring near the ball? They rebound fastest.
Does this help with hand speed for boxing ?? These free stand bags ??
Which do you prefer between this one and the double end ball? thanks @ray white
Ty
I need to learn how to use mine more like you
Thanks, keep practicing and have fun!
I just added some new drills for the reflex bag. Check my channel!
Can you give me the link to those gloves please
i need one of these.
How hard can it take the punches ? Do we have to go slow on it bcz i punch really hard and thats what i love to do
You can punch fast and snappy, but not hard like a heavy bag.
Thank you for posting this Amazing clip. I hope everyone subscribes to show YOU support. Keep up the excellent work and we will see you at a Grapplers Quest event next year!
Hi would this be a good b day present because im going to get this for my 16 year old nephew so would this be suitable 🥊😊👍👍
Great present for youth.
Great workout Ray, i just bought me one from Everlast. your 6'2 , 185 shouldn't you be in the 200?
I am curious does your Everlast reflex bag still work? Mine broke after a month. The metal pipe in the middle of the spring broke and the entire ball and pole assembly took flight in my home gym nearly destroying a flat screen TV.
Any one who is a beginner and on the fence trust me these things are fun. Just not many fair priced options. The Everlast reflex bag is 70bux and they only last a few weeks of moderate use.
both of ours our still good, one at the gym, one at home.
+Ray White (MMA Coach) cool, I just got tired of looking for a good one that would not break at the spring. I ended up just getting a ringside 9" double end bag and some bungie from home Depot. I also found a tennis ball size double end ball in Walmart. As much as i liked my Everlast reflex bag they are just cheaply made. Maybe the cobra and the max mma are better.
Can you fill it with sand aint that heavier and more stable?
Sand and water together works great.
I like to add sand then water. That’s the heaviest. Then add a weight plate if needed.
How can i modify the reflex bag to get it back faster?
some models have a spring tensioner that firms up the movement, or you can get one with the spring in the middle or top. The higher up, the faster the motion.
This equipment is so cute underrated. I bought it, set it up, then few minutes later I am sweating my armpits.
great review!
I don't use gloves, when i first started my knuckles would bleed now they don't and it feels so good hitting without gloves just gotta get your hands conditioned to it
I did that when I was younger and started getting sore tendons on the knuckles. I don't recommend it. You want to have good hands when you're 50 like me!
@@RayWhiteMMA thanks for the advice i appreciate it, im gonna start wearing gloves so i don't mess up my hands.
Good for kids. Would be nice if it went taller and had stronger springs to add.
Mines about 6 ft I throw a double jab then front head kick just got mine tonight
nice work
The models with the spring in the center move a lot quicker!
double end bag all day
+Brian Arthur I like a double end bag too. The main difference is availability and convenience.
Found one in the trash today son knocked the top off dented hardwood floors
I need this
