Coming late, but still I wanted to tell you how amazing your vids are. I hear all your vids and guides on the way to work for the last month. The game assumes min level for confusion, so it will last 7 rounds despite that nymphs are low level. Since you can summon a lot of them, they can also fire off a lot of checks in short time similar to using sequencer, and as a "level 7 spell" it will bypass globes. You get access to this even with Jaheira in BG1. Putting this on the divine caster himself is a meme though. - Apparently, energy drain was patched at some point to stack, as a poster on Reddit used it in solo run to repeatedly drain dragons and run away. It's a *permanent* effect, so it can be used to cheese now. Making Firkraag level 1 makes him a lot less effective. Killing an enemy by taking them to 0 destroys equipment, so avoid that if you want it.

The mass greater restoration was a TOB bug. basically, it used the wish version of greater restoration. I think it was properly a single target spell in SOA. Enhanced edition fixed it.
I can 100% confirm greater restoration used to hit everyone in the original game. It’s the only way I was able to beat the game as a kid when I extremely poorly sped’d characters 😂
Lol I'm sure I did the same then, I feel like I should have remembered but i spent so much time playing video games its starting to blur for me. Thanks for watching and commenting friend!
43:55 Yes, I learned about that recently. In OG BG2: SoA it healed _one_ person, but when they released Throne of Bhaal it was changed unintentionally to affect the entire party. That was a bug that the EEs fixed.
ב"ה I totally disagree about Fire Storm. Fire storm ignore magic resistance, so it is actually pretty decent against drow and other enemies with lots of Magic Resistance. Incendiary cloud do deal a lot more damage, but ignoring Magic Resistance is more usefull against enemies with high magic resistance. Sunray can affect demiliches. It is at least worth mentioning, and it make the spell more decent.
Incen cloud does 1d4 per level up to 20d4 save vs spell for half but it lasts for a full turn. Firestorm is 2d8+20 for 4 rounds so 8d8+80 vs 80d4 (incen cloud over 4 rounds same duration as fire storm) Firestorm is definitely more reliable damage up front and is nice against enemies with MR for sure, if enemies do fail their save incen cloud does quite a bit more, if they save, it will do a fair bit less. Incen cloud lasts more than twice as long and can be launched from a CC as well though its also a higher level, firestorm would require twice the XP to do the same thing but would be quite deadly too. Honestly I don't really use either of them that often, I find it really risky, the times you would want to use these would be against sendai etc, and if one of your casters gets dispelled, RIP, it's why I stick to horrid wilting despite incen doing a hell of a lot more damage.
Good point about sunray on liches, though I prefer the bolt of glory tbh. Fair point about mind flayers as well since you're really unlikely to be dispelled while fighting MFs. Thanks for watching and commenting friend!
Yes the Sunray spell always damages Lichs and ignores any protective spells the LIch might have up. That and the casting time is good and is party friendly.
with the resurrection spell, you can use it as just a heal, it says range is "touch" but its actually pretty far, so can be used as a heal but from a safe distance, same with the rod of res
I just need you to know how much I love your videos and how informative and entertaining you are. I never watch twitch because I just don’t have the time with work/family but I always listen to your videos in the car on the way from work or at night if I’m gaming. Gonna try and catch a stream of yours soon
Your spell guides are really awesome! One thing about priest and mage fiend summoning spells. With my version of SCS, lawful characters will get devils (bone fiend, cornugon and pit fiend) and chaotic characters will get demons (Nabassu, Glabrezu and Balor). Neutral characters will get a random one.
...And you get so few level 7 spells as a Druid, too. I left the level/spell progression unmodded. I currently have Cernd in my party at level 23 - and he has THREE level seven spells slots.
Cheers Dav!! You did man... Arcane and Divine spells guide, completed. The GOAT of BG, with the GOAT guides. Can't wait for the class/kit guide :) Ghast striking as +4? Wow... That's news to me :) 17:40 "Eyeball people", these are my dudes
It was this series that convinced me to try BG trilogy again after struggling on easy. With this knowledge, you've helped me beat it on core. Thank you for putting this out there.
Nice. I played this game and the following many, many times, and I still do. I play custom parties now, tired of all the drama. Right now I started a new game with an all-mage group in BG2 : necromancer, sorcerer (fireball factory), dragon disciple (in front with only protection spells, iron skin all time, very resistant), illusionist/thief, summoner, priest/mage. The game is longer because of micro management, but you can freely use every spell available at any time (except from druid's but they mostly suck). Can cast four fireballs at the time, rince and repeat. My advice to new players : for big fights, stay away from foes, let your priest stack buffs while mages cast zone spells (sleep, web, etc.) The enemy will not attack, so when they are all down, paralized or whatever, then cast fireballs till they're all dead, and finish with bows. You can avoid some difficulty in the early game by doing this.
@@Davaeornlol Thanks for going back to the roots of rpg. BG2 and Fallout 2 are for me the two sides of the same coin. If you played both, you have nothing to learn from modern rpgs.
Why? Gorion failed very hard, early on. And he failed to prepare his ward for what the future had in store for them. The protagonist wouldn't have been lvl 1 at the start of the game, if Gorion didn't lie to them and didn't hold them back.
Something I did to check out the stats of summoned creatures is to CTRL-Q to look through them ingame. I wish I thought of mentioning that ages ago so you could show off their sheets.
Yeah I should have done so on stream I checked them offline with EE keeper etc in the past but it be useful indeed. I'm going to redo the series at some point soon (didnt have iwd spells for arcane at all) so ill do this for sure, thanks for watching an commenting friend!
Say what you want about Finger of Death on its own, but I've always been partial to the Necromancer->Cleric dual class combo. It's situational, but there are three Silver Dragons in all of BG2 (Adalon in SoA, and two in Dorn's ToB quest) that are Good aligned. The reason I specify that is with three sequencered Lower Resistances, Doom, Greater Malison, and Unholy Blight a Necromancer->Cleric can cast Finger of Death on a Silver Dragon and force them to save on a die roll of 18 or higher. That's an 85% chance to kill those creatures even on SCS. You can stack those debuffs to give FoD a 75% chance to kill using companions like Eddy and Icky Vicky but a Necro-Cleric's ST penalty really helps seal the deal.
Nature's Beauty works exactly as advertised. The reason you're not impressed is probably because you expect it to kill things despite its saving throw bonus, and because you're playing with SCS which nerfs blindness by improving enemy AI. In unmodded game the spell is overpowered because of how devastating blindness if for enemies. Especially seeing as it (counterintuitively) doesn't break invisibility, so you can sneak among the enemy group and neutralize them without giving them a chance to act.
I actually don't really expect the kill effect to go off at all since when I used wail of the banshee it wouldn't kill shit and natures beauty has even a less chance of doing so XD, but the blind I expected to work better, If you run your melee out after a blind they should go to where they saw you last, then start searching, that's not the case when I've used natures beauty. It doesn't help in BG2 enemies have a variety of tools to prevent or get around that (if not outright ignore it) but for shit like gromnirs fighters, it should be pretty noticeable, especially since my frontline is ALWAYS hasted making it easier to juke the AI as I mentioned earlier, idk. Just never seems to work right for me. Thanks for watching and commenting as always friend! God bless!
I don't know what's going on with Nature's Beauty in your install, but in vanilla BG2/ToB the blind works exactly as advertised, making NB near S tier.
Shambling Mounds' strength lies in their resistances. Probably varies between games, but I think they're always immune to lightning, fire and crushing.
Something you probably didn't realize, but Earthquake ignores MR. It's A tier, if not S tier for that reason alone. Open up a fight against drow or monks with that spell and just slaughter them. It can't hit your party if you aren't standing in it. And let's face it, the number of times the enemy gets the drop on you, rather than the other way around are negligible, which means you can almost always open up the fight with it. When I found this out, Sendai's enclave went from difficult to a cake walk.
In my latest version (long after this guide was made) it doesn't go through iron or stoneskin or MR which def tones it down a bit more in my book :( I need to redo the series sometime this year.
It's finally here! Any chance of a party member tier list down the line at some point? All I know is that Edwin and Monty are good. Thanks for these btw!
I love to use finger of death on dragons. It dose take a wile to lower their resistance, and doom them, and greater malison. But it is really cool to do.
On my version The Balor behaves exactly like you said (kills the caster and then sits there) unless I cast protection from evil. While it doesn't work on other demons, it does work on my own. Maybe there's a scripting or A.I. error without protection from evil.
I really like these videos man, so much more you can do....Races/Classes, party compositions, combat/creature guides......what a game, and you make it look so easy! I can barely play it on normal and always save scum
Give Daystar to a frontliner and have them cast Sunray in melee range! Works get for clearing out hoardes of undead and can pack a decent punch on some harder ones too. Being a +4 weapon against Evil creatures is great too, given how early it is available.
Yeah but with the mods and difficulty we have doing the crooked crane lich is something we almost always skip. You cant retreat and if the fight goes bad, you're going back to bg1 XD
Not playing on Insane difficulty yet, my first run through of SCS is on Hardcore difficulty, but interesting fact: the Liches casting Time Stop, Improved Alacrity and dumping spells on one character, for some reason the AI targets your Wizard Slayer, if you have one in your party, probably because of the threat of causing miscasting but then the Magic Resistance actually helps keep them alive quite a lot.
Well, it's been a full year since the last guide... I know you're sick, but hope you're doing at least OK. Have you thought about creating a new guide?
10:53 it seems that party AI in EE also follows this principle. If I cast sleep on bunch of gnolls and let Kagain with STANDARD ATTACK AI attack them, he will go for those who are awake, he does not attack sleeping gnolls.
Hey Davaeorn! Your videos are inspiring me to play with more spellcasters than usual (I often did more balanced parties with only 1 sorcerer or mage, did some heavy physical damage party once, etc.). So I cleared every BG1 area before resuming the story and just reached Baldur's Gate city and am currently in Sorcerous Sundries buying all of the spells I was missing. I plan on running through the whole series and did a full custom group. F/M multi (Charname), Berserker>Mage dual at 9 (Berserker for all of BG1), Sorcerer, Invoker, Priest of Tempus, Shadowdancer (planned on dualing to fighter but I'm not sure anymore). I'm a bit scared that I may struggle too much with magic resistant enemies with BG2 SCS (I play on Tactical and only cleared full BG1 SCS once before) so I'm not sure yet if I'll keep the Berserker>Mage dual and also unsure about the Shadowdancer (I'm afraid that he will be useless in combat if I don't dual him into a fighter but might be too long of downtime without a thief in my party if I dual him and play through SoD on top of it). All this to say that I still love your videos and am watching back some of your older guides as I can finally afford to play with many more spells than just go with the core most important ones. Unfortunately, I'm realizing that you did not include the IWD EE spells in your Arcane spell guides. I only played through IWD once (while I did several BG1/2 runs) so I did get to try some of those spells but I really don't know them as well and would have been very interested in knowing your opinion about them (tier and uses for spells such as Mordenkainen's Force Missiles, Vitriolic Sphere, Beltyn's Burning Blood, etc. etc.). I think most of them aren't so great unfortunately but maybe there are uses I don't know of. It would be really great if you could do a short video or just at least maybe a tier list for them. Keep up the good work!
Yeah when I made the arcane series the IWD part of SCS didn't exist at the time, I'll be re doing the arcane series at some point to add those. Shadowdancer is fun as hell i wouldnt recommend dualing it tbh as their hlas are fun to play with. Up to you though. Hope you enjoy your runs and thanks for watching and commenting!
I used to use gate on mages before I figured out how to strip spell protections. It works against a lot of enemy mages, especially if you can just leave the room after casting it.
IMO Fire Storm is S tier as it bypasses MR and is castable by a planetar. 1 planetar + 2 druid/cleric casting this can clear a drow war party in a very short time, just need protection from fire on your whole party. I just cleared house jaellat in Ust Natha using this strat
It's ironic because I just had a monk that had two fire storms dropped on him by a planetar and died in them so I guess I can't talk shit but I'm still going to. The reason I don't like using this (and incendiary cloud) is if you get dispelled you're pretty much guaranteed to die instantly, and almost certainly permanently. You can walk into stacks of cloudkill or acid fog np, but stacks of incen and firestorm will murder anyone that isn't wearing resist gear, which basically means anyone that isn't a fighter sadly. It's damage is GOOD, but it's just really risky. In my next video I'm probably going to bump incen cloud down a peg, just because it's so damn shady. If you're a solo dragon disciple tho, oof.
@@Davaeornlol I play on Tactical, not Insane, and have only gotten through Yaga-Shura on the main storyline (still screwing around in Watcher's Keep) so I dunno what late ToB is like but isn't it pretty unlikely for the AI to break through Spell Shield, Spell Deflection, Spell Turning, Spell Trap, and SI: Abjuration before getting killed themselves? I mean, it hasn't happened to me yet which is why I love the area of effect fire spells. I get that non-mages can get dispelled pretty easily since you can't put spell protections on them and on Insane they'll get chunked fast but as long as you keep them away from the area of effect, shouldn't it be reasonably safe for the mages to go to town with the incendiary clouds and firestorms or is the AI just better at breaking through spell protections later on and/or at higher difficulties?
@@295Phoenix Yes they are much much better, it's not uncommon for a lich to timestop and wish for an aoe breach which strips you basically butt ass naked, high level mages will frequently time stop and strip you naked, or you're fighting multiple mages at once and you can get stripped in an instant. There are also lots of times where you can't refresh buffs at all, because you're dodging planetars or other nonsense and can't be caught with your pants down. Beholders are a lot more common in ToB fights as well and they don't give two shits how many spell protections you got up. Anti magic ray eyestalk go brrrr
Yes!!! I love these guides they are so much help. Have you ever played pillars of eternity? It’s hard to find good guides like these for spells and such for games such as this. Also I was curious about your thoughts on BG3 or if you already talked about it in a past stream I must have missed that I need to dig up
It looks fun but it wont be anything like bg1 or 2, we'll stream it for sure though. I will be playing pillars and some other rpgs as we get closer to bg3s release
Your cleric spells are VERY different from mine, I'm using a really old (from 2014) megamod install on the good old 5 disc version and the disc versions of bg1 stuck together with BGT, I have some of these spells but I use Divine Remix with the Sphere system for clerics and the new kits, it's super cool, but I miss out on some of these amazing IWD spells in return. It's still cool to see your opinion on the spells we share and see the spells I'm missing, I sure would like to have that Impervious Sanctity of Mind spell around... in my version Creeping Doom is also insanely good, I don't think there's a version where it isn't! As someone who plays the disc versions, I have no recollection whatsoever of Greater Restoration restoring everyone in the party, and it's certainly a single target spell in my version. I've googled it and it says there was supposedly a bug with Throne of Bhaal release versions where that was happening, but I think it was probably patched at some point because I do not see that happening on my end. In any case, it's not a full-party super heal for me, that would be truly busted if so! I think that Mist of Eldath spell should just last for a few rounds (maybe 1 for every 5 levels of the caster??) and then it would be pretty awesome, but it sounds like doo doo at the moment. Anyway, keep up the content bro live well and prosper!
Hey Dav - I dug into the game files to see what was going on with Nature's Beauty. It appears that it is coded to affect Humanoids only, despite the description saying "anyone". Here is a screenshot of the details of the slay effect: imgur.com/a/xdrtxzk
I'm glad you are back up and posting Dav, you're the only reason why I can play a Ranger/Cleric correctly. Looking forward to your kit guide, I just appreciate the time and passion you put into this shit. PS. Been waiting for them godly Dav streams.
I seem to have a spell not on the list (likely added by mods) greater shield of lethander. It seems quite good, not experienced enough to tell if it’s overpowered or not though.
Yes mateeeee! Finished watching your full blade playthrough recently. Who coulda known it would be a blade to defeat meli! Thanks for all the streaming and entertainment man. Are you going to try Divinity original sin 2 in prep for baldurs gate 3? Good game, just a little imbalanced but some good balance mods out there
Hello, I'm pretty late for a short discussion here. Regarding with my experience, the divine spell, Gate, is actually also bugged. I have the latest version of the Enhanced Editions (EET) with the QoL mods, and the summoned Balor actually full wiped my party, confusing me throughout my session until I watched your video.
Heya, Dav! Love your guide, as always, but just a minor nitpick re: Nature's Beauty. In my game, it doesn't seem to break invisibility for some reason (I think it's treated as a self-buff, like drinking a pot), so you can sneak around and disable multiple groups. Even if they cast True Sight, the rest of the enemy group is struck blind.
Also, Fire Storm ignores MR - ir's one of the few damage spells to do so. This means that drow MR does jack shit against it. In fact, it's amazing if you want to clear improved Ust Natha in SCS.
Sorry for spamming comments, not used to commenting on RUclips. Don't the shambling mounds come with some baller resistances? I thought they had 50/50/90 for P/S/C and tons of status immunities, making them pretty good at 2-for-1. Anyway, still loving your work!
@@Davaeornlol Most classes are item-dependant to cause damage (fighters, rogues). This leaves us with casters: mage, druid, medic, sorcerer/ess. Mages need scrolls to be able to cast anything, thus fall out in Poverty as scrolls are items. Druids and medics are practicaly the same aside druids being slower casters, and not able to multiclass for The Trap of Cheese. Neither class has anything from high levels. Medic's demise (also druid's) is, they can't do anything to Ravager aside minor damage with Energy Blades HLA, and that's not enough. That leaves Sorcerer/ess to try. Which has a lot of downside, like lacking the casting speed w/o the Robe of Vecna + Amulet of Powah, and it needs many spells just to get over certain obstacles. Despite all that, I managed to reach Abazigail with it, then lost all enthusiasm for the whole thing.
On your playthrough videos (they are 2 years old I guess?) you mentioned that you prefer Aerie over Viconia because the later tends to get chunked by backstabs, while here and in the stream you say that you prefer Viconia. What changed?
SCS added IWD spells which allows you to cast divine intervention giving viccy a lot more breathing room, as for being a cleric viccy was always better, it's just her survivability compared to aerie that was so much worse, but the latest SCS helps level the playing field a bit. Aerie is still going to scale better into late, but 3 mil to 5 mil viccy is going to be a lot more useful to keep the front line up.
Awesome stuff! So much knowledge, appreciate it! Regarding the Symbol spells, all the descriptions talk about "opponents" and "enemies" so they should be party friendly? Or is it another one of those "few" discrepanciens between descriptions and effects :P
Spell guide completion? --> Ja Baby, ja! Kit (or even better: companion) evaluation next sounds good? edit: Never mind, just finished :D. Class guide, yayyy! :)
According to the wiki, Gate, and the other divine and arcane demon summons do not add to the summon limit. Summon 3 skeleton warriors, a wizard eye and haste them, and then summon 10 demons. 😳. Lead the skeleton warriors via wizard eye, and the demons should follow. Long range strikes are possible. 🤣
I have absolutely no idea why you have trouble with Nature's Beauty. That spell is S-tier even if it didn't have a kill effect on it. The range is supposed to be 15 feet, but the game actually programs it as 16, so it should be _slightly_ better than intended. It might be getting nerfed by SCS, if you play unmodded this spell breaks everything. Anything blind immediately falls upon its default creature AI so this doesn't just screw up frontliners, this will make mages stand still until someone gets close and then they'll try to hit their target with a fuckin' stick even in Throne of Bhaal.
Liches are the toughest enemies in the game, stronger than dragons, but you can avoid them and come back in the late game when you have an OP team. Nothing works on them, the best way to defeat them is to destroy their magical defenses with your casters, and pray that your warrior hits him at least once before he casts his combo. It's always about dice rolls, so quick save, try it, try it again and at some point, you'll be lucky enough to kill the liche before it does anything.
Quite possibly, that's the trouble with baldurs gate and mods is you go through so many damn iterations of the game that shit gets changed and you always continue the original assumption. Prismatic spray/comet/ so many others were not party friendly before, they are now. Sarevok had true magic immunity in the original, that got taken out with a patch. I'll give it a fresh test to make sure. Thanks for commenting friend!
I tried playing as a pure Cleric but the spells for me are hit and miss, I love playing a Cleric/Mage and one time i played through as an Avenger Druid and had fun but Arcane is the best.
I never play a pure cleric, the benefits are small compared to a warrior/cleric, or mage/cleric. You got a few more spells but you don't need a full time priest, just some heal and protection time to time.
Just waiting on my last two comp parts to come then Ima make my comp and we're gonna get rollin hard. I'm not making a patreon. Maybe once I start putting up youtubes all the time but like. I'm pretty inconsistent atm with being sick an all.
Bolt of Glory doesnt work in watchers keep on the lich, you have to go in and out of the area were the demich lich is and have minsc finish him off with improved hast,so umm mods might make it work finger of death is crap, playing on core rules man i used alot of death fog and cloudkill in the final level. Core rules no mods man watchers keep final level before imprisioned one woud up using alot of cloudkill and drath cloud for me it workes against the mage and lich, dragon a peice of crap though ticked me off somehow killed it after multiple failures, finger of death is crap though.Watchers keep is doable before you go to spellhold just do everything before.I would say i dont think your wrong but it proabably depends on mods and your dificulty, core rules is hard enough for me.Watchers keep aint so bad just spawn a bunch of fire elementals for chromatic demon.Maybes it because I have Anoman,Minsc,Jaheria,Yoshimo,My cleric and Edwin.
Its tough with SCS it gets snatched right away, same with cloak of mirroring, still good for a round or two though especially if you space them out with good positioning.
13:45 doesn't it say 2d8 +1 per level fire damage? so at level 13 when you get it, it should be like 15-29 damage. It's still not a lot but that's a big difference. I don't know how scs ai works, but if you put a lot of fire protections on your fronline and just cast it there, sounds like a strat against those who are killable by fire. Can't a imagine a situation like that really lol but still
Yeah it's just incendiary cloud does 1d4 PER LEVEL. Comparing it to the other cloud kill shit just makes it fall short imo. Thanks for watching and and commenting friend!

I didn't know the Cancer symbol was over-powered.
Coming late, but still I wanted to tell you how amazing your vids are. I hear all your vids and guides on the way to work for the last month. Came back to the game as my daughter started talking about DnD and I felt the nostalgia to play BG1 again.

I used it a lot vs drow and some of the dragons I fought along the way through TOB. I cast protection from fire on frontline and cast it with my cleric/druids it works great.
True thanks for watching and commenting friend god bless!
I forgot to mention this when it posted. Firestorm IGNORES MAGIC RESISTANCE. Drow killing spell. 🧐
Too true god bless friend.
- Confusion at 7 is both bad and good for divine, but mostly good! The only spellcasters you get that will ever use confusion are nymphs from the level 4 spell to summon them.
Damn man, I've played these game so many times and the best thing about them is that I always find or see something new with each playthrough, usually just little details nowadays, thought I knew the magic system prety well but this is pro.
Nature's Beauty is amazing for me. I've never had it not work, outside of the fact that it can't overcome magic resistance.
ב"ה
I totally disagree about Fire Storm.
Not so sure about Incendiary Cloud having better damage. Fire Storm has higher minimal damage (per round), and there's no save for half.
Good point! Thanks for watching and commenting friend!
Loving it bro, great job!

I just need you to know how much I love your videos and how informative and entertaining you are. I never watch twitch because I just don’t have the time with work/family but I always listen to your videos in the car on the way from work or at night if I’m gaming. Gonna try and catch a stream of yours soon
Awesome man I'm glad you enjoy them! God bless you and thanks for watching and commenting!
Can't wait for the class/kit guide :)

I see that i missed the stream :| I'll catch up on it. But it's so good that you're back man!
It was this series that convinced me to try BG trilogy again after struggling on easy. With this knowledge, you've helped me beat it on core.
Thank you for putting this out there.
Glad to hear it friend thanks for watching and commenting!
True true, thanks for watching and commenting friend!
@@Davaeornlol Thanks for going back to the roots of rpg. BG2 and Fallout 2 are for me the two sides of the same coin. If you played both, you have nothing to learn from modern rpgs.
Should've called yourself Gorion considering the amount of knowledge you have on this game.
Why? Gorion failed very hard, early on. And he failed to prepare his ward for what the future had in store for them. The protagonist wouldn't have been lvl 1 at the start of the game, if Gorion didn't lie to them and didn't hold them back.
A magical weapons guide would be awesome!
We might do so!
You’re right D. In the classic game, with TOB installed, G Restoration cured the entire party. Per the wiki, this is fixed in the Enhanced Edition. 😉
Sad indeed
I've had a lot of people tell me they enjoyed it I might try it on stream at some point.
Sunray is my favourite spell
@@johnmaccallum9737 Apparently it only affects humanoids according to the near infinity engine editor, who knew?
@@Davaeornlol I wonder if that's an SCS change, as I have some vague memories of having blinded a dragon or two.
Shambling Mounds' strength lies in their resistances. Probably varies between games, but I think they're always immune to lightning, fire and crushing.
Ah, yeah in my version they're not immune to any of those things :(
Something you probably didn't realize, but Earthquake ignores MR.
Yep! It's right after we do the class guide / kit list since they'll kinda go hand in hand, God bless you friend!

Finally! Great way to start the day!
Hell yeah buddy hope you have an awesome day today too.
I love to use finger of death on dragons. It dose take a wile to lower their resistance, and doom them, and greater malison. But it is really cool to do.
Yeah it's pretty hilarious to be sure. Thanks for watching and commenting friendo
Or polymorph them to a squirrel ;)
On my version The Balor behaves exactly like you said (kills the caster and then sits there) unless I cast protection from evil. While it doesn't work on other demons, it does work on my own. Maybe there's a scripting or A.I. error without protection from evil.
Thank you for another great video! I have to commend you, that you never give up and keep on going on BG1 and BG2!
Never ever! Thanks for watching and commenting friend!

Great ! the set is now complete ^_^
Now we gotta redo the arcane series to add IWD spells XD
Give Daystar to a frontliner and have them cast Sunray in melee range! Works get for clearing out hoardes of undead and can pack a decent punch on some harder ones too. Being a +4 weapon against Evil creatures is great too, given how early it is available.
Yeah but with the mods and difficulty we have doing the crooked crane lich is something we almost always skip. You cant retreat and if the fight goes bad, you're going back to bg1 XD
Can't wait for the divine spell guides for levels 8 and 9.
Lol
Not playing on Insane difficulty yet, my first run through of SCS is on Hardcore difficulty, but interesting fact: the Liches casting Time Stop, Improved Alacrity and dumping spells on one character, for some reason the AI targets your Wizard Slayer, if you have one in your party, probably because of the threat of causing miscasting but then the Magic Resistance actually helps keep them alive quite a lot.
Greater Restoration is really all-party spell in the original BG 2... absolutely busted.
Yeah there was quite a few spells that were changed over time. I still have no idea when prismatic spray became party friendly.
Well, it's been a full year since the last guide... I know you're sick, but hope you're doing at least OK. Have you thought about creating a new guide?
Yup companion guide when im up to it. And class guide.
Don’t divine casters get animate dead before wizards do?
Excellent point friend they do! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Davaeorn my pleasure, I love your guides. They’ve been a great help in my current BG 2 game.
Firestorm bypasses MR i believe so it can be useful. Does the regeneration spell tick twice as much when you are hasted like item regeneration does?
It does indeed I forgot to mention that. Thanks for watching and commenting friend!
10:53 it seems that party AI in EE also follows this principle.
If I cast sleep on bunch of gnolls and let Kagain with STANDARD ATTACK AI attack them, he will go for those who are awake, he does not attack sleeping gnolls.
Yeah it seems that way.
Aura of flaming death missing?
Yeah true I hate those off screen shenanigans though i do use em myself at times
Any chance that you'll make a companion tier list? :D
It's next on the list after class kit guide.
Do druids get Impervious Sanctity of Mind?
yep
You too friend thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey Dav - I dug into the game files to see what was going on with Nature's Beauty. It appears that it is coded to affect Humanoids only, despite the description saying "anyone". Here is a screenshot of the details of the slay effect: imgur.com/a/xdrtxzk
That explains quite a bit! thanks for sharing friend!

Could there be a catch up video about the IWD mage spells? I don't think the earlier videos covered them.
I'm going to re do the whole arcane series after I finish class and comp guides!
Most spells are the same in IWD, I remember more direct damage spells like acid based projectiles and all but no big changes.
I seem to have a spell not on the list (likely added by mods) greater shield of lethander. It seems quite good, not experienced enough to tell if it’s overpowered or not though.

Love you buddy
Wow, I always thought Earth Elementals were the best summons out of devas/planetars. This will help me out on saving myself a lot.
They're not BAD per se just not as good as others XD
@@Petycon I checked the files they don't in BG for some reason :( They just keel over quickly.
@Davaeorn wow, that sucks, they were way tougher in IWD! Thabks for clearing that up!
Now I'm double sure Solo Poverty run is only available for Sorcerer/ess, if at all.
I believe in you buddy!
Great Video. Thanks man. You know I wanted to buy BG for PC lately. Can I buy it on Steam or is modding then harder?
I personally avoid steam if i can as I have heard those things too, but I also heard people say you can do it just fine.
i personally own it on steam and is heavily modded and works just fine
Mods work fine on my Steam version
Awesome stuff! So much knowledge, appreciate it! Regarding the Symbol spells, all the descriptions talk about "opponents" and "enemies" so they should be party friendly? Or is it another one of those "few" discrepanciens between descriptions and effects :P
BG symbols are NOT party friendly but now that you mention it the IWD ones might be! Thanks for watching and commenting friend!
Dude does videos that are very informative and last 1-2 hours and hasn't even 10000 subscribers...........
I'd say insect plague is better than creeping doom. Ok it does less dmg overall, but it disables enemy mages for whole 6 rounds, instead just for 3
At one point undead weren't immune to bugs so creeping doom actually hit liches which was fkn DISGUSTING.
Spell guide completion? --> Ja Baby, ja!
Kit (or even better: companion) evaluation next sounds good?

According to the wiki, Gate, and the other divine and arcane demon summons do not add to the summon limit. Summon 3 skeleton warriors, a wizard eye and haste them, and then summon 10 demons. 😳. Lead the skeleton warriors via wizard eye, and the demons should follow. Long range strikes are possible. 🤣
True indeed!
The problem with demon summons is that when they kill something you dont get XP. Or have I misunderstood this?
Well that's one of the problems lol. But yeah you don't get xp for what they kill NOR killing them
Helpless noob here. Have you considered making a NPC guide? That would help those eternally undecided on how to build a party tremendously, man.
I want to make the class / kit guide first then NPC guide second. Soon .tm I hope.
I totally didnt miss that baka!
XD
Creeping Doom not working against liches - is this really after a nerf, or is it SCS thing?
SCS doesn't let them work on undead yeah
Liches are the toughest enemies in the game, stronger than dragons, but you can avoid them and come back in the late game when you have an OP team. Nothing works on them, the best way to defeat them is to destroy their magical defenses with your casters, and pray that your warrior hits him at least once before he casts his combo.
It's always about dice rolls, so quick save, try it, try it again and at some point, you'll be lucky enough to kill the liche before it does anything.
Either my dudes and dudettes save on the stun symbol all the time, or it only hits enemies.
How about one about all the playable characters, now that the spells are all done and done?😀
Class guide then companion guide are up next!

I tried playing as a pure Cleric but the spells for me are hit and miss, I love playing a Cleric/Mage and one time i played through as an Avenger Druid and had fun but Arcane is the best.
Yeah for sure, CM is definitely one of my favorites!
I never play a pure cleric, the benefits are small compared to a warrior/cleric, or mage/cleric. You got a few more spells but you don't need a full time priest, just some heal and protection time to time.
Where is the kit/class video? A magical items walkthrough would also be great. Where is the patreon page? Do we need start funding e

Gauntlet in watchers kepp posed me of beholder diapered but you have to close gat and let them in one at a time in the final level.
I leave beholder slaying to Korgan with Balduran’s shield
