***Video Edited*** Hello everyone! I'm really sorry but I had to edit and remove a portion of the video that shows me flipping through my new craft books. It has come to my attention that showing contents of the craft books could cause copyright issues. I thought it was ok to show a few pages but that might not be the case. So to avoid any potential problems, I have removed that part of the video that shows me sharing my new craft books and flipping through them. I'm really sorry for causing any inconvenience and disappointment that may have caused. 🙏😞
Hello, I'm so sorry you had such issue. But please, would you be so kind as to give all the references? There were 2 that I wanted to buy...and now I won't be able to find them. 🥺 Thank you so much for your help, truly. And thank you for this amazing video. 💗 Greetings from France!
Hi Kimo. You you say you are doing a review of the item (you make sure you mention the name and publisher, provide a link back) you should not have any problems.😁
I love your work. A suggestion, a light pad will enable you to trace your design directly on the fabric. They are not expensive. The other option are Sulky iron on transfer pens. Hope this is helpful. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much for watching! I have a light pad and tried it with other projects. I have a hard time seeing through the cotton linens. If I use plain cotton fabrics, its easier for my eyes 😅
I loved the little cats, they are so so cute. You do such beautiful work, I really enjoy watching your videos they are so inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
Dear Kiko, Thank you so much for your video! Now you have beautiful cats on the board! ❤❤❤ I'm looking forward to finishing the project with a blanket very much. Best regards, Tatiana
Beautiful stitching. May I share a tip with you? I noticed that when you separate 6 strand floss you are doing it the hard way. Try holding the 6 strands near the end between your thumb and index finger of your left hand. Then tap the top end of the floss with the index finger of your right hand to make the ends of the floss "bloom" out and separate so you can see each strand. Then, while still holding all 6 strands snugly in your left hand, grab one isolated stand and pull it up and put of your left hand. It will come out smoothly. Don't worry if the remaining floss in your left hand appears to bunch up as you do this. It will smooth right out by smoking it down with your right hand once the strand is removed. Repeat for each additional strand you want to use. Then hold your removed strands even at the end and give them a stroke to combine them. You will get better coverage and less tangling with these recombined strands too!
At first I thought you were making Christmas tree ornaments, but they turned out great! Only thing I would suggest is stick the magnet inside the cat body before you sew them closed - you might have to use a stronger magnet, but it would be neater and less chance of the glue failing 🙂
Hooola !!
Your embroidery work is extraordinary!!❤. I noticed that your fabric inside the hoop is not taunt. It has a lot of movement. Do you prefer it this way? I did cross-stitch work long ago and preferred a taunt work surface.
Hello 👋. I am sorry you could not share the books. When you share them it lets me purchase here in the states. I have quite a few and have crafted from them. Made some beautiful projects.
Thank you very much for watching! The magnet rolls are not very strong so that's why I glued it outside😊 There are stronger round magnets but they come in a pack of 50. I don't think I will make 50 magnets so I got the roll instead 😅
The cat plushies turned out so cute :D I would love to make a granny square blanket again but I'm afraid that it will take me years. Your squares are very pretty, do you have a link to the pattern?
Cute cats.Too bad you don't want that colour in your blanket it's a beautiful colour, and it can go with green. But I am sure it will turn out great what ever you choose
An easy way is to color the back of the template with pencil, put the template back on the cat and fill in the face with a hard pencil, so the color from the pencil on the back forms a copy of the face on the fabric.
Good morning Kiko, thanks for another lovely video! I love that deep dusty rose color on the granny squares. I would maybe see if they look good together with the green because I think they might. You could always do something else with them too. The cat magnets turned out really cute! I really like the Japanese Sashiko books too. I ordered one before due to your recommendation. I’ve been thinking about getting an embroidery one, but am concerned that the pictures won’t be enough for me to see how to do the pattern since I can’t read the instructions. Do you think the pictures are self-explanatory enough in the embroidery ones? When are you getting your cat? Are you still planning on it? See you next week!
Thank you so much for watching!! The embroidery books I got by Higuchi Yumiko comes in English versions and they're on Amazon if you're interested! I have the Japanese versions and I did find myself using the Google translate app on my phone in the beginning for a few things I didn't fully understand. But in general it's not bad. The new book by Yula, I have yet to look at the instructions so I don't know yet 😊 I'm hoping to get a cat soon! I just bought a cat tree 😅 have a wonderful week!! ✨
@@kikosabiThanks for that info. I didn’t realize they had English versions so that’s even better! I thought about trying Google Translate, but I didn’t know if it would work well enough . I will have to check them out. I’m excited for you to get a kitty! I’ve had cats my whole life and they are my favorite.
Enjoy you channel every week! I’ve never used carbon paper for embroidery design transfer. Could you share more information on which type of carbon paper best for fabric & is it water soluble too like the Sewline marker? Thanks Whoops! I should have waited to comment as you found out the carbon paper didn’t work so well. I too have use the product you ended up using.
Thank you very much for watching! The carbon paper I have did not specify that its embroidery use. The one in the book seems to be different than mine and its blue. I did manage to find the blue ones on Amazon Japan and they are for embroidery/ fabrics so I will get it and try it out in a future video. Hopefully they are better?
I’ve used that roll of magnet tape before and no it’s not strong enough to stick through fabric if it was put inside. However you could find some stronger ones that could be stuck inside the cat so the magnet wouldn’t be visible.
I would love to make some cats from the nekogao book but since it’s in Japanese I wouldn’t understand the instructions. I wonder if they also make an English version?
Thank you very much for watching! I'm not too sure, I haven't seen it. But out of all the Japanese craft books I own, this one was the easiest to follow just by pictures alone. They did a great job at showing each step with pictures. 😊
I have a request not related to this video. Would you mention or link the tabletop embroidery hoop that you use or like. The hoop that gives you hands free help. Thank you.

Hi Kiko
It's looks nice your video , but i would like to listen what you are doing .
Thanks 👍🏼
Instead of attaching the magnet on the outside, it might have been nice to insert it inside so that it is not visible.
I thought the same
guessing it doesn’t have enough magnetism to stick through cloth 😺
I’ve used that roll of magnet tape before and no it’s not strong enough to stick through fabric if it was put inside. However you could find some stronger ones that could be stuck inside the cat so the magnet wouldn’t be visible.
