- Those of us that went on the Rock Legends Cruise shared the making of history in so many ways! This video of the Artimus Pyle Band features both Artimus Pyle and Bob Burns, original drummer from Lynyrd Skynyrd. Filmed by Michael for Rock Legends Photographers. We have lots of photos in the southern rock folder on our site Rock Legends Photographers dot com.
Always liked that Artimus and Bob formed a BROTHERHOOD together!!!!!!
Don't tell me Artimus can't still play!! I miss Bob. It's awesome to sit and watch Bob and Artimus making the same moves at the same time. Two of the greatest.
Pure awesomeness!!!
RIP Bob... Tell Ronnie, Steve, Leon, Allen, Billy, and Cassie we all still miss them dearly!!!
Brought tears to my eyes when Artimus hugged Bob! Damn that songs takes me back to the good old early seventies:)
Bob was not particularly receptive to that hug.
RIP Bob..so sad you are gone, but at least you're with Ronnie, Allen, Billy, Leon, Steve, & Cassie now💔 and now Gary 😭
too many names :(
And now Ed King too😔
Jo jo 2010
add Artimus Pyle... RiP
@@FunkyBazaar what :o
Loved watching Artimus and Bob together not even missing a beat. Mirror image..great job guys
Artie thanks for bringing Bob back one more time!
During the cruise I had the pleasure to be able to thank Artimus for the many years of fine music he's given to me and his legion of fans. He was so very humble and couldn't thank ME enough for being a fan. A true gentleman!
This would have been perfect for Skynyrd, having Bob and Artimus as double drummers!
That was actually Artimis's vision, along with Ed King playing a few songs from time to time, according to an interview he did.
Like the brothers
Hell yeah Just like the Allman Brothers
@@TheShockninjaSurely a class act..Artimus Pyle is. Bringing Bob Burns playing beside him...talk about more crazy things....Bob was later killed in an automobile accident.
Like the Allman Brothers..perfect .
Saw the Artimus Pyle Band in New Jersey at a Harvest Festival in 2019. Band sounded awesome and you can see that Artimus still has the passion and love for performing. Dude can still play the drums. Got to talk to him for a few minutes the next day and seems like a humble down to earth guy.
I miss me some Jersey I hate California it's sucks out here.
@@dougreed9843 move back 2 jersey thn.problem solved.i lived in fla. once and it sucked.guess what i moved back 2 nh where i was from.
This is the first time I saw this. As a longtime fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd, I have the uttermost respect for this performance of Gimme Three Steps. Bob Burns and Artimus Pyle work so well together. Two amazing drummers. May Bob Burns rest in peace.
Likewise for me ! Glad we came across it ✌
Two of the greatest drummers of all time!
The late Bob Burns on drums stopped in the Portman Lounge,Anderson,SC on his way home to Gainesville,Ga. and sat in with our band.We could not belive it,and untill this day I still cherish that night..He was feeling real good for the owner let him help himself to the bar...We played every Skynyrd song we knew and the ones that we didn't know..
I Loved that!
I've seen Artimus MANY times...Always great...But with Bob Burns! That's awesome!
fellow drummers out there--- Playing drums in work boots and nailing it anyway!! Damn! Met Artimus in Asbury Park NJ many years ago-- a gentleman and great rocker. And cool to see the great originator, Bob Burns.
Those are combat boots... Standard issue,,,,
He was a marine, what branch did u serve in?
Thank you for the video of BOB BURNS Playing ,It warms my soul to see that
he's been to place's people never want to go ? This is GREAT CHEERS !

RIP Bob Burns... Fly Free.........
I get a kick out of this. Watched it over and over. Reminds me of the old days. RIP Bob.

Man it makes me smile and cry to see Bob. Bob Burns was a special guy.
RIP..BOB GBNF Brother..
Outstanding!! Way to go Bob Burns and Artimus Pyle!!
Bob just looked so comfortable here. Fantastic stuff right here.
Good to see bob burns playing along side Artimus and in sync great job guys
I have spent close to 40 years in drumming and most of my study was with these two drummers...Artimus sounds as great as he Ever did....and in spite Bobby can’t use his right.kick drum legg he still has impeccable timing also.....👍👍✌️🙏👏👏
To play what they do is very difficult
I also was a drummer for 40 years in local honky tonks,,,lynard skynard songs were on just about every songlist,,,Artimus was hard to match as far as some of the licks he did,,
You got to be born with talent to do that my brother was born with talent doing that before he was 10
Agreed. Timing and groove is fantastic. As well as the “pocket” work. Legends!!! Much respect fROM AZ, USA🙏🏼🇺🇸. Pero. Get a new singer ese
I not only like the video, I als like these guys. Was nice meeting them :)
What a great clip!!.....Skynyrd history for sure!! Wow!
Two of the best drummers in rock n' roll. Rest easy Bob, you're a free bird now. Artimus, keep it goin', you guys sound awesome!
Michael I am SO HAPPY you caught this on video. It was one of the HIGHLIGHTS of the Cruise. And seeing my dear friends Artimus and Bob play together gave me chills all over again. Good job dude! Boy, they were in synch like a machine.
Artimus is a great drummer and cool guy to hangout with, Bob was a great guy as well. Lived in my hometown. RIP brother
Rest in peace Bob.
** Double timing perfect drumming ** this adds the spice to the Skynyrd songs,
keep up the beat boys ** love it.
fan in Kalamazoo ~ USA ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *~ * ~*
My boss's mom is Bob's wife's best friend and I always get to hear these really awesome old school Skynyrd stories. Means alot. Skynyrd runs in my veins, man. God bless the South. Long live Skynyrd. RIP Bob Burns
Always loved Artimus's playing. He has a sound all his own. You always know its him.
What a wonderful sight to behold Artimus and Bob playing side by side. Truly glad u tube suggested it and i saw it.
god bless u Artimus Pyle💯💯💯
Awesome! Thank you, Michael! Love the crowd shots, too!!
I can't tell you how it felt to sing the songs. OH EM GEE! Awesome!!
Two fine LEGENDS right there......Thank you for the memories
Wow both Skynyrd drummers together and in sync once in a lifetime experience wish I was there.
At least Bob Burns got to enjoy his HOF moment before passing. Unlike so many of his old bandmates
It was really great to see bob burns playing along side Artimus.
I saw artimus at a ford dealership in Oregon ohio he was awesome he did his beginning drum solo and wowed the crowd,Bob Burns was great drummer for lynard skynard,at the time,he was good, later all.
The irony is not lost on the fact that Bob was the first member to leave Skynyrd............and he'll admit he had some issues going on in those days...........yet he is one of the last original members still standing. Great vid. Great to see Art and Bob together and in sync.
Rickey Medlocke was NOT a founding member of Lynyrd Skynyrd..and imo he gets wayyy too much credit. He was only a stand-in for a little while in 1970..Skynyrd was formed in 1964. However Larry WAS a founding member.. just sayin the truth❤️
Janet Brewer What about Ed King?
@Scahoni Ed King didn't join Skynyrd until the early '70's, when Leon left for a short time. So Ed wasn't an original/founding member. Is that what you meant?😋
Oh I see .. very interesting, thanks :-)
+Scahoni You're welcome😋
RIP Bob, so enjoyed knowing you.
Two different styles and two awesome guys
Man omg so sorry I haven't seen this before now..it's awesome man I'm loving it..Ty
Hell, this lineup is more authentic than any current skynyrd linup.
twinsmm1 i agree
+twinsmm1 Amen to that. Been there and saw the new Skynyrd. They suck
Any of you guys want to know what really went down with the original skynyrd and the Allman bros. visit the youtube site STEVE VEST SWAMP. he was there in the beginning and played for both bands. He will also answer any questions.
N
How do you figure that?
Damn, this would have been incredible to see! HELL YEAH!!
Gotta love these two drummers both have the passion and feel that seems to have been lost over the years. One classy guy to talk to.
The good ole days!!!!!
Got to see Artie and his band several years ago in Jax, Fl. As much as we all miss Ronnie, if the crash never happened, come on, I think most folks would agree that the musicians (ie) drummers like Arti and Bob were really the stars. The guitars, drums, piano, ( dad gum that Gary) they are what we were bangin our heads to. Ronnie was the voice, the face, and I miss him and all that we as collective fans miss every life lost on that fateful day. Hell, hate me for saying it, but the muscians killed us in our headphones.
❤ omgosh I love his voice!!! Does remind me of Ronnie !! WOW!!!
Keep it going Artimus , your band is awesome. RIP Bob 😢
Yep, great to see them 2 working together, but there wouldn't be anything to drum to without RVZ making the music and driving the bus.
ARTIMUS GOT SCREWED HE'S A CLASS ACT 💘😎
I finally got to see and meet Artimus and his band this summer. 2 days later he turned 76, the skills and energy are still strong.
I LOVE ARTIMUS, HE IS SO AWESOME
What a song! Great to see them playing together! Thanks for uploading
Love it I’m so lucky to Jam with Artimus Pyle in Tokyo Japan way back 1976

History was made and RVZ and all others in that Rock and Roll Band are smiling from above...
Like a man and a band mate , Bob would have still been alive , thank you Artemis for having a heart , everyone wants to put you down but your far more the man and friend anyone could ask for for makein him feel real again , your reward is waiting on you in heaven,
Bob burns had to be the Stiiffest drummer I have Evvvver seen!!! RIP!
He's all business!
He is all business!
Never was a huge Skynyrd fan but I knew the plane crash story. Also knew that Artimus was out of the loop for a long time. This clip showed up on my feed and it was nice to see that he overcame the shock and horror of that day and got back on the drum stool! Rock on Artimus Pyle you sound damn good in this clip!
Love it Bro Art,y'all killing it!!!Skynyrd no1 for life!!!!
Bobby and Artimus as Hall of Fame drummers playing together!!! Awesome!!! 🥁🥁
Two rock legends behind those drum kits wow still both sounding great

Yeah I wonder if the scumbag lost his edge for fucking under age girls Artimus is a loser
@@ajslick5884 he was cleared of those charges by the way they admitted that they lied give Artimus a break damn
Artimus Rocks 🎸
Artie Is And Always Be The Skynyrd Drummer. I Love You Artemis.
Great to see this. Just came across my radar. Artimus was a huge influence on me as a drummer.
RIP burnse,poppa.
Oh my goodness first time getting to watch it was amazing to see this it was like watching them being as a mirror so insync.
RIP BOB...
Best drummer in the world
John Bonham, Ringo Starr, and Artimus Pyle are the three drummers that have influenced my life the most.
I see that Ronnie Van Zant didn't pick YOU to replace Bob Burns so Artimus has to be good because Ronnie didn't have any "lame" musicians in his band. If it's good enough for Ronnie, it's good enough fur me.
Well put.
If I understand it correctly, the late great Charlie Daniels chose Artimus to replace his drummer who was leaving the band. (Talk about a band leader with high standards!). But at the last minute Charlie's drummer decided to stay on, so Charlie told Artimus that Skynyrd was looking for a drummer. And on Charlie's word RVZ arranged to give Artimus a listen. (Actually I think Ronnie had a couple Skynyrd band members audition him). But I think Charlie's endorsement carried a lot of weight, and I think Artimus was pretty much hired on Charlie Daniel's word!
i turned 57 last wed.
i had the good fortune to see a show at the neil blaisdel center in honolulu Hi in the early 1990s....it was the final show of a reunion tour that had lasted many months and was the the first tour in several years for the remaining members of the most badass tightest and by far and away the most musicaly talented band ive ever heard to this day.it was a special show and several guests who had not been part of this tour flew in for the last show...
a friend of mine and myself decided not to muss this about noon on day of show...we drove from oahus north shore...went to the boxoffice and somehow got 12th row floor seats...an unsold block had been released for sale....so lucky i guess...we then found a bar and had a couple drinks to pass the 3 hrs till showtime...and when this band got on stage i witnessed a group of the most talented musicians who gave a standout show that i will never forget...the best band as far as musical talent that ive ever seen...and ive been to many concerts.the way that 3 guitars can all play lead in perfect unison and then each trade to rythm then back and do a sort of round robin that was so tight and crisp and never mussed up for the whole show....ì dont think any other group can come close...no slackers here...these guys are all topnotch and proved they are number one.
so i just saw a couple vids here that sparked my memory....and so i feel humbled and am honored to have seen them live
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls
One of the main veins of Skynyrd right there on stage
Bob and Artimus had the honors of playing together at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame cerimony for the Lynyrd Skynyrd induction. 🥁🥁
Keeping the Legend alive. I hope to see the APB live someday. He was on stage with some of the best musicians of all time and has stories to tell.
