Fantástico video muchas gracias por compartir tu arte y proceso solo lo que no entiendo es como se llama el agua que le agregas para que se pegue la hoja de oro al vidrio yo estoy en mexico y no sabria como buscarla Saludos Joha Mune
Hi! I use Nazdar too, but when I remove the excess gold, it happens that the paint cames off too… I‘ve something very similar like pierre d‘argent..I have also pure shellpouder..but it still cames off… and the gold is also very blury… thanks for your help!
It appears that you're covering more than the number area with the water seize and applying the leafing to more than the area you need. Then when you're removing the excess gold around the numbers, how do the edges of the numbers not get removed as well? I'm confused about how the number area stays in place.
Hello Oskar, Not really, I haven't hear of any vegan alternative. Though I'd love to learn about it too. If anyone here knows anything, it would be great if it's shared with us 😊
This is brilliant! thank you so much for the video. If you wanted to add a coloured shadow, would you paint this on after you have removed the excess gold? Thank you!
You're welcome! I'm happy you liked the video. Please don't forget to like it and subscribe to my channel. That will mean the world to me 😉 Answering your question, yes, you can add a coloured shadow either after removing the excess gold and back it up... or if you have an outline in between the gold section and the shadow you could do it even before gilding. All the best, Joha
Great video Joha, thanks for sharing! I have a small question: when I do the second layer of gold, my water size is breaking and I am struggling to lay the leaf down well. I have heard of using a little bit of washing up liquid in the size, but do you have any other ways to stop this happening? Many thanks
Hey Alice, yeah, add a drop of dishwasher liquid to the size. Not sure why you’re getting this challenge. wondering if your gilding brush is grease free?
Saludos! Joha
Hello, I'm really glad you like the video! Please subscribe and like it. It will mean the world to me. Answering your question, you need to make sure the water size is completely dry before applying the second layer of gold. It's hard to give you an exact time. The time depends on the weather. If its warm it could be maybe a couple of hours and if its cold could be a bit longer. A good way to know is to check that the gold has turn more shinny, like a mirror. Once it's dry you should be able to see your reflection on the gold. I hope this help. All the best, Joha
The gilding doesn't take much time, just a couple of minutes. What takes most of the time is cleaning, preparing everything and waiting in between the gold layer for the water size to dry. I am not really sure what do you mean by size numbers?
@@marshaw The numbers were 17'' all together (including spacing). Each number was 5.5'' approx. I hope that helps. Keep in mind that the size of your numbers would depend on the size of the surface 😉
Hola Claudio, Eso es un tip, la que yo utilizo es un Thorn Tip, esa es la marca. Espero esto te ayude. Recuerda suscribirte a mi canal 😉 Eso me ayuda a seguir creando contenido y significa mucho para mi. Saludos

Hello, You can use other oil based paint. Nazdar paint is great because it drys very fast but isn't a must - it is oil based. I hope this helps you. I really would appreciate it if you subscribe to my channel and like the video. That will mean a lot to me and help me to keep bringing more content for all of you. Thank you very much for this, really clear! Have you heard of a vegan alternative to the gelatine gilding water?

Thank you so much for posting this! What size numbers did you create? about how long from start to finish did the gilding take?

@@joha_mune are they larger than 4”? Thanks for answering.

Hola, como preparas el pegamento?
Hola Fernando, eso te lo explico en otro de mis videos. Se llama 'water gilding, step by step'
May I ask, how long do you wait after applying the gold before you varnish it?

You need to wait until the gold is completely dry = shinny. The time depends on the weather. But guide yourself with how shinny the gold turns.
