Rock Candy is a banger too by them. Sammy singing that one too. I was fortunate to see Sammy solo and warm up for Boston in 77
exactly , sammy's voice is awesome, very hard to believe it hasnt really changed after all these years
Rock Candy
Space Station #9, but really the whole Album kills!
#5.
Ronnie is definitely shredding on that guitar!!!! 🎸 and Sammy is just being a young Sammy!!!! This tune is way better live just saying!!!! Fantastic!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!! 😎🍸
Love Montrose! Geesh I miss this kind of music. Both legends imo Sammy H. and Ronnie Montrose, the whole band.
Montrose was the band the cool older kids listened to. 😊
Love it that you're going into older Sammy. His catalog, whether Montrose, solo, VH, Chickenfoot, The Circle, etc. (I'm probably missing some) is a treasure trove. I'm planning to see his "Best of All Worlds" tour in the greater DC area next month. Think you'd love some Joe Satriani, too.
Ronnie Montrose was playing a slide guitar with distortion. When I saw Sammy in 77 he opened with that song and was playing a slide guitar of some sort
Sammy uses a lap steel for the opening last few times I saw him perform it. Sounds awesome and super fat that way.
So hard to explain to people what it was like to see Ronnie live. I've seen probably over a thousand shows and very few performers compare to him.
that's a great album! very young Sammy Hagar
LOL I was in the middle of my monthly Montrose binge and saw this come up in my feed. Good timing Mug.
I have a lot of things to fortunate for in my life, but among the best things was growing up in the Bay Area at a time that let me see bands like Montrose/Gamma, The Tubes, Y&T, which all feature great musicians... especially drummers. Those guy formed my style more than Gonzo, Moon or Mithcell... because I'd seen them all play live.
Denny Carmassi is one of rock's most overlooked and under rated drummers. The into to Rock Candy is probably the single great drum intro for a rock song, with the possible exception of Rock and Roll by Zepplin (gotta allow for my local bias, I never saw Bonham play in person).
This whole album is awesome
Bar band comes to mind for me
Oh man you gotta do rock the nation off this album!
Love Montrose
Space Station #5 is a must listen
naw
#5.
Called a fuzz box back in the day it is a pedal effect
Fuzz Guitar effect 🎸
Should try, Rock Candy, song now.
But hell the first time I seen Metallica was in a bar Ruthie's Ruthie's Inn
Okay I'm here for this and I dogged Sammy fagar through the whole Van Halen thing but I did like him with Montrose. I like to rock candy baby
Whats the reason for being so rude
Space Station #5.
sammy...
The day that music died can be traced to when the market chose Van Halen over Montrose. Flash over substance. Yeah, EVH had substance.. but by comparison..... fuck.... there's no comparison. Ronnie > EVH
🤘🧙♂🤘
