i really really hope they slow down the release of new champs and focus on asu and vgus, i find them much more exciting than new champs

Considering then only other champs they mentioned was the vastayan and Noxian mommy (don't remember her name), and since she's due for around Arcanes release in NOVEMBER it looks like your wish was granted with three new champs this year, like they said in 2022 it looks like a lot of the champs developers are on gamemodes now which shows with both the constant adjustments to arena and the development of ANOTHER new mode.
ASUs are done by the skins team, not the champions team, so ASUs and new champs don’t affect each other at all.
That’s what we’ve been saying for the past 3 years lmao

Ambessa Medarda was a dream of mine since Arcane came out, and Shyvana was my most wanted VGU after Morde.... I honestly feel so hyped right now lol. I can't wait to see them both in action and they've even given us a taste of 6''7" and jacked Shyv in one of the concepts. I literally cannot wait to see more aaaaaaaahhhhhh

Thanks to Vanguard I literally can't play once the new season starts. I'm a computer science major and dualboot Windows and Linux for many school and project related things, and vanguard requires safe boot to be enabled which prevents dual booting. Thanks riot for forcing me to quit the game
It's a trade off Riot probably already knows. They're just responding to the outcry about bots and this is by far the best and easiest way to get rid of botting.
Either we have bots run around in lobbies or we don't, but a small portion of people can't play the game anymore + no more modding. Based on Riot's decision, it's likely that they figured more people cared about botting vs modding and Linux support.

All of this is super promising for the rest of the year, I just hope the Vanguard announcement doesn't ruin everything with many people saying they'll uninstall the game due to privacy concerns or the risk of certain hardware that isn't made for cheating such as modded skins or certain recording software (like the one SkinSpotlights uses) being banned (and rip Linux support, probably), Riot really should have a work around for this or it could cause a lot more issue down the road
How many times have big online apps, like WhatsApp and many more, changed their terms of service, triggering a big reaction of "let's boycott them so they learn their lesson" ? I don't think that has ever worked or done anything.
My concern is performance, I already must have 100+ chinese companies spying on my data, everyone has. But the problem is, these anti-cheats tend to make games run worse, even if a little, and my old laptop is already struggling as it is, I don't know how much more it can take.

@@sasatofe7707Depending on the pc, yeah. I would advise to turn off the option for vanguard to auto run when the pc turns on and also terminate it when you are not running league. It doesn’t stop the Chinese spyware, but it helps with performance issues.
the level of execution being in the kernel is what scares me. Rip for league on Linux 🙏
I'm excited about Smolder, Ambessa, Skarner VGU & most importantly, the ASU of Lee Sin & Teemo. I hope things will get better in 2024.
I think that base Shyvanna rework strikes a perfect balance between what you drew and the current Shyv. Also love the hair direction

The mini update helped improve Smolder a bit, but he's still uncanny as a Will Smith Fish. I cannot understand how that design went through an entire design department and nobody stepped in?
Executives most likely. I refuse to believe that the same design team who made Aurelion and has insane concepts from LoR can actually pass this design voluntarily.

Why I have the feeling those cool Shyvana concept arts won't be use and she won't have muscles on her final version once again? thats fair alot of anti cheats are actually kernal level like the more commonly used easy anti cheat. However the big difference is that it doesnt run 24/7
About Shyvana, do not be surprised if those concepts drastically change. That still has to go through a ton of approvements from higher ups and I garuntee that she is going to get animed before she comes out. Just saying.
Her DNA team is pretty stacked, she's got some fervent fighters in her corner. One of them even did a fan redesign of her before even joining Riot.
True. Most times the concept art was much more interesting than the final version of most modern league champs. Especially Viego, that one hurt.

Season 2024 might make me start playing the game again. It's really looking great.
As cool as a lot of this is, a lot of people that I know uninstalled all riot games after they announced the Vanguard stuff. I don't know if it's anything to really worry about yet but I guess I'm taking a 'wait and see' stance on it.
The problem with vanguard is that crash pc's for no reason at all, it doesnt happen to everyone and the problem is there, you dont know if yours is going to unalive itself for installing vanguard or not
It's a trade off. Kernel level applications are always dicey, but this is also the most surefire way of killing off almost all betting and scripting. It also will kill off modding and custom skins etc.
Essentially we have to choose between bots and scripts, or moddability and less system risk.
@@myonionatemydog3916people have been finding ways around vanguard for years lol, it's only gonna prevent the cheapskate entry level botters and cheaters
How many of them were still playing ? I have never seen a change that caused concerns in privacy actually hurt the company from user boycotts, no matter how loud people cry about it. I'm not saying that it's a good thing, but I'm reasonably sure that 3 months later, the numbers will not have been impacted noticeably.
@@DarkprosperIf the player count would be affected, it will definitely not be because of this. Unless Vanguard comes with a lot more problems than we were suspecting.
I'm fine with Shyv being super muscly, but I do hope they make her refined since the story seems to be pushing her to be the queen consort of demacia.

Vanguard being added is something i was hoping they would do because as much as i hate how its a kernel level root kit it does a good job at catching cheaters. That being said, i can understand why people will stop playing the game because of it. i will probably play it, because i have already had vanguard on my PC.
I will be honest. The main reasson why i never played Valorant was Vanguard, mostly because i dint understand what is exactly. Yesterday, during my stream, i was talking about the stuff that is comming. I did talk a bit about Vanguard, since, i was, and still, i bit confuse. No joke, been a bronze 1, first ranked match i have, going adc, i got a bot Yummi. Needless yo say, i get why Vanguard now.

My only problem with Vanguard Is that if someone manages to break into the anticheat Is over, the other deal i have with Vanguard Is that it prohibits me to use Custom skins and fucks over a friend who plays league using a Linux os pc, oh yeah there's also the fact that Vanguard make my pc overclock, something that never happened to me in a low to medium spec pc.

When ASU took as long as how long VGU was before.. most original players would retire seeing ezreal kai'sa ahri and lux faces in every skin before the zilean/nocturne and older champ rework happens

Yeah yeah all this stuff is great and I WISH I could be really excited but... I'm sorry but unless they modify how Vanguard works so it AT LEAST isn't running when the game isn't - and I doubt they will - then I absolutely will not allow Tencent kernel access to my PC, so that means I have no choice but to uninstall. Been playing League since S2 and I hate scripters just as much as the next guy but this is about basic computer security. This is not something I'll just take Riot's word for.
I am so fucking excited for Ambessa, she seems so good, also excited to play smolder, just not in the goddamn botlane
