  • Fast look at my latest acquisition during, and after carburetor service. These are nice basic units built in the mid 80’s. This one was obviously cared for and stored out of the moisture. One point to mention, this is a true 4000 watt continuous output generator with a higher surge rating. Many cheaper generators today are sold by their maximum surge rating output and actually have a lower continuous output. Unfortunately this one is quite heavy to move, the previous owner fabricated a simple cart with handle which works quite well. The generator simply sets in channels and can be lifted right off. Too bad it’s not the electric start version though. You will see I set the output a little high since I only had a moderate load connected for testing here.

Good video. Looks to be in great condition. Definitely a two handed pull on that engine.

I was just given a Gillette 4000 watt generator that needs a carb and fuel tank, at least that's what I was told. It does fire if I squirt a little gas in the plug hole. The briggs has no tag on it, but I'm pretty sure it's an 8 horse. It looks exactly like yours. Can you tell me the model?
Your video is just what I needed. Thank you.
