You can still get four wild card spots to use those cards you grinded for. Think it is a way for people to not just use the same team all year and have to continue to grind and build. Think that is a core part of DD that a lot of us missed, having golds or low diamonds and having to work your way up. Definitely a big improvement from last year it seems, not perfect but much better and on the right track.
You still get wild cards, but it's not funny when people already have a game-ending team the first few months and are always the exact same cars up until the new MLB The Show is here. Forcing people to build their way up starting with gold and silver players is great, also gives some time in the spotlight to cards that nobody ever uses, like live series cards for example.

can you change who you have in the wild card spot ? like say i get first baseman A i wanna carry over to season 2, but then get a better firstabsemen, and would rather switch the wild card to the season 1 second basemen?
@@tbonn17 oh, yeah, that's how it worked it 23. The Wild Card doesn't stay with the player. In fact, it automatically sensed when you were using the wild card, you didn't have to do anything special other than put one out of season player in your lineup and then it blocked you from putting others. And when you take your out of season player out of your roster, it automatically gives you the wild card back to use for someone else. I imagine it'll be the same UI mechanic here, just with up to 4 spots.
I know this is your job but man I’m too old for these ultimate teams. They used to be a fun way to put in extra content and actually didn’t feel like a total cash grab. Even with MLB that no longer feels like the case

I like the change I never liked the 99’s at launch and it make the game less enjoyable because of it having the normal progression will be fun but having seasons is alittle bit tough but I get it they want to push the user to get more involved in every season so as long as the 99’s aren’t in day one I’m happy
Thanks for the summary and your thoughts on this. Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic. I actually like the pacing of 12-week Seasons, and paced grind. Last year, I felt like I was trying to rush through everything.
I think similar to last year we will have to wait for the first round of cards to expire to get a real taste of how this seasons content is. if it works perfectly it could actually be great but theres a chance they mess it up. staying hopeful tho!!

I’m excited. I think Sets won’t bother me as much as it does other people. What bummed me out this year was their being no really cool low diamonds/golds to use. Some of my favorite points of the game are killing shit with low overalls. It also killed me that we got almost no 98,96,94,93,91 and low diamond cards. It felt like everything released was 99,97,95, or 90 and nothing in between

Team Affinity has always been 90 cards so it makes a ton of sense for them to break it into 3 chapters instead of all at once, and that also gives us a good idea of what the power creep should look like over a season

Seasons are dumb af. I don't enjoy being restricted on who i can use after season 1 ends. Last year I packed 99 Mickey. Once i got to season 2-3, i couldn't use Chipper and Mickey at the same time. It's dumb as fuck. I quit playing in early summer.. I don't even think I'll get this game and I've been playing The Show since 2006..

For the first year in probably 20 years, I will not be buying a baseball game. The show has no competition, continues to release the game on last GEN hardware and only seems to focus on diamond dynasty. Again this year the only thing they can promote is some kind of change to diamond dynasty and hair physics, I’m out. I’m done paying $70-$80 for a roster update.
Not a fan of sets still but maybe with the power creep it won't feel as bad into the next season. As long as the grind is as EASY as they say it is I don't think it'll be an issue. The 10-0 is a MASSIVE W though. I've gone 9-0 more times than I can count so that would make it possible for me to go flawless.

Super excited to give this year's game a shot. Been a huge fan of DD every single year, but the sets structure made me stop playing 23 in like May, when I usually play the whole year. Hopefully it's better this year but I'm really not a fan of having sets at all. Leave those types of things for events.
Yeah I like playing 2-3 times a week mainly ranked. Not trying to constantly grind just to get a competitive team, they just renamed the sets I’m good gonna pass

Seasons is for the good and the wealthy. For the casuals or the ones that can only play a game or 2 a day by the time they get the players they want to play with they get taken away from them. Thier offline offering is not nearly good enough to keep those fans interested. 1st pass on buying the game in 15 years. Wish I hadn't bought last years....

Im thinking they nerfed stub making opportunities. Every year they gradually make it a little more difficult
I don’t think I can do it again this year. It just sounds like a grind for multiple seasons and with College Football 25 coming, I’ll probably stick with 23 and I’m sure this game isn’t going to last long again
Super excited to give this year's game a shot. Been a huge fan of DD every single year, but the sets structure made me stop playing 23 in like May, when I usually play the whole year. Hopefully it's better this year but I'm really not a fan of having sets at all. Leave those types of things for events.

If I can earn Team Affinity by playing online, I'm all about it. Having to grind conquest over and over again was such a drain.
Yeah I like playing 2-3 times a week mainly ranked. Not trying to constantly grind just to get a competitive team, they just renamed the sets I’m good gonna pass
I hate sets/seasons, I work over 50 hours a week and I just don’t have to time to grind a godsquad each set, I have limited time on the game I hate the fact once I grind a card I can’t use him again unless my wild card
Its gonna be 30 days longer the season plus we get another season to use them then when season 3 comes out them you have 4 wildcards its not bad

@@Shiesty023I thought they could only be used that season and for the next season u can use your slots... So 1-4 from previous season... It's actually going backwards for the casual players 😲 I hope I'm wrong

We only get to use them for one season this year not the next season. It is literally more restrictions this year except now you can have more wild card slots
I feel like people look over 3 week seasons and 4 wildcard spots. Longer times with our cards, fewer times we have to change our roster, and 4 wildcard spots is huge. But people will see seasons and just be mad.
This year is going to fall off even quicker with ncaa football dropping this summer.

I hope they don't do like 4 or 5 different versions of classic players, and that they change it, instead of the same classic guys over and over. I'm sure licensing can be an issue but I'd rather see some random players we haven't seen in years than have 5 different Al Kaline cards.

Season one is guys from the babe Ruth and Ted Williams era and just keep going in 20 year increments until you reach early 2000s to present day
ive played since 19 and this last game was the least i have ever played MLB... 06 was more fun
You should help the developers of the show and get paid for your thoughts. You know the game and have great insights and passion for the game.
Seasons is for the good and the wealthy. For the casuals or the ones that can only play a game or 2 a day by the time they get the players they want to play with they get taken away from them. Thier offline offering is not nearly good enough to keep those fans interested. 1st pass on buying the game in 15 years. Wish I hadn't bought last years....
I wonder how these changes will affect the type of content they release each season. Will we still get recycled cards? Will this help bring more unique rewards every season?

Not a fan still. Power creep over the whole year is what I want. I will still play it but I'm probably going to fall into ncaa football once that launches
