You need to contact his barracks commander and file a complaint.. print the comments from his brother .. show the commander and tell him it stops or you'll take legal action.. he can't determine out of service for low air on visual inspection.. its a % not a guess ... usually below 60psi
Tire manufacturers have charts that show the load capacities of tires vs. air pressure, you can find them online to argue your case. Tires do not need to be aired to maximum pressure if you are running less than maximum load. I do the same on my rigs especially if running on rough roads.
Wrong.....tire must have, at minimum, the correct pressure for the weight it is carrying. Tire manufacturer publishes that info on their web page, for each size and model of their tire.
@@tooljunkie1937 no, go look at any tire and you will see a maximum pressure and a weight next to it. If you are too heavy with not enough air your tire sidewalls will flex so much that they build up heat and cause a blowout. Tim: For the low tire thing, I would have a monthly certification done by at least 3 shops on air pressure. Get a notarized and signed record, if you don't already have one. When DOT tries to shut you down, you would then have the paperwork associated with that truck, and would be able to show it and cut that kind of crap off at the pass. simple a tire is not considered flat until it is at 50% of the sidewall pressure, so 85 psi on a 110 psi tire is fine, Besides if he has no air gauge how does he prove what pressure its at. The ticket would be tossed in court.

Check the the regs in that area because here where I am we only have to have 50% of the pressure specified on the tire so if it says 110 PSI your good as long as it has over 55 PSI.
That's what I tell my buddy who owns the trucks 85 lb 90 lb is fine for a tire I just drive local here in Las Vegas I either drive a Freightliner tractor semi with a pusher axle pulling a 3 axle side dump trailer or I drive a 7 axle w900 Kenworth dump truck I put 25 tons in that dump truck it hauls more than the semi it has four drop axles have you ever watched those videos of some of these truck drivers that get pulled over by Dot and they refuse to help them with their inspection because all you're doing is helping them incriminate yourself there's no federal law that says you have to help Dot with their inspection federal law succeeds state law so whatever federal law says goes but watch some of these videos where these truck drivers have refused to help them with their inspection

When I deal with people like that I always ask them if they were beaten by daddy when he he came home from the bar drunk.
The Dot gets over zealous at times .when i ran a dump truck for aready mix plant the Dot had stopped my truck 3 times in one day in the city limits of the town the plant was in and had no violations .
@Gentry and Sons Trucking A flat tire is an 8-point deduction; an under-inflated tire is a 3-point hit. By law, a flat tire is any tire with a psi at 50% or less of the tire's stated maximum psi embossed on the sidewall. For every 10 psi a tire is underinflated, there is a 1.5% loss of fuel economy. I had a flat tire data queued because Maryland DOT couldn't get the pressure for my inner drive tires because their gauge was different than a normal gauge and the officer could not get it to fit on the valve stem so he said all my inner drives were flat......so I had to stop and have my tire pressure checked and recorded on the work order
In Illinois at the 220 pickle park on 57 had a bear who had a gold creeper.they called him pickle park pete.i don't know if he's still alive or if he's a bear anymore.he would wake drivers up wanting to inspect log books back then.of course these drivers would be intimidated and give em what he wanted.all they had to do was not answer the door.
Glad to see ANOTHER deceptive title! Do you not realize your FMCSA data is public! BTW I like the video, I drive quint axle dump and the the 1st truck I drove was an l9000
I’m not a fan of DOT myself, I recently had surgery that put me out for a month, it was on my rear end so I couldn’t sit down, my first day back a trooper pulls me over for an inspection and I explained to him I couldn’t sit for very long (running 30 min at a time to each load) he proceeded to take an hour and a half on a level 2 and wrote me a violation for a spring that goes to the back of my glad hand (serves no mechanical purpose) that slid down the air line. I slid it back into place and still got the violation. If this surgery wound does heal properly I’m suing the hell out of them!
All they have to do is look at the tire pressure rating on the tire, and if they check the pressure, and it’s below the rating on the tire, you can’t argue with that!👍🇨🇱
The pressure stated is for maximum weight the tire can carry. So if you’re like me my steer tires are rated to 6600 pounds apiece with 120 psi in them I only carry 6000 apiece on them so I only put 100 psi in them because otherwise it crowns them out quicker then they are junk.
When are we going to fix the head liner Boss? It looks cheap like an Oakland Ca. Dock Truck. The Iowa DOT -- IHP shut my 1998 Pete down for two broken studs in the Manifold and that cost me two weeks in the Council Bluff's Kenworth because they could not get on it that long and believe me, They work with the DOT and IHP. They care nothing about the Driver's. And I had to get a ride to St. Joseph, Missouri and then back to get my Truck and had to wait three hours after I got back.
Rather than put them on Blast, why don't you contact the scale supervisor and let him know what is going on? If the inspectors brother threatened to have his brother shut you down then you have a pretty strong case against this DOT officer.
I don't drive Truck, but I do drive School bus in a state where the rules are even more up tight then normal. Even if something happens that is 100% not a driver's fault. Even if the cops say flat out it was the other guy's fault. Even if Video proof shows it was not the driver's fault they very first thing the DOT does is go after the Driver looking for ANYTHING that might be out of place.
Another great video, of a friend helping a friend hauling the dirt . Looks like that new driveway is going to look great . I will see you all later, so take care . 🤗👍💖💫
Tim, I suspect that DOT cop is getting kickbacks from the truck stops to put trucks out of service. I would file a complaint with the scalemaster, and his supervisor.
Can't get anyone to deliver loads of HVAC equipment from Georgia or South Carolina to Canada because knowone wants to drive up here....lots of work, no drivers.
Good luck with that D.O.T I had a problem with one officer when hauling anhydrous ammonia He quickly had a change of attitude when he smelled that stuff I don't know what you think about this but what about putting cat eyes air pressure gauges on your trailer tires it's just an idea good luck
O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 Those old Ford L9000 trucks were so nice looking. I loved the dash, but many of them that I’ve seen had extra screws or bolts in them because they rattled like crazy. I’m wondering if that was because they just ignored any minor issues & it just got worse. Nice truck you have.🤩 The DOT…It seems that someone has it in for you & I think that is really UNFAIR. Could it be that they are abusing their so called “authority”? I know that they have a black list book & they can’t deny it. Hope it works out well for you. At least you’re doing the right thing & recording the process, but be careful if they tell you to not record them. I think they would be wrong to say that, but they sure won’t like anyone stepping on their toes. It’s good to help a friend in need. That’s what truckers do. Take care! 🥰😎✌️
You only need between 75 and 80 psi in any drive or trailer tire when loaded to the maximum U.S. Interstate weight limit of 34,000 pounds per tandem axle group.
Published load and inflation tables from Goodyear and Michelin indicate 75 psi (80 psi by Bridgestone’s table) is the minimum pressure required to support a tire load of 4,550 pounds. In a fully loaded 34,000-pound tandem, each tire in a dual assembly carries 4,250 pounds.
They are boats. Max load might be 5 to 15 thousand pounds for the load of boats. Running 17.5 in tires. My dodge runs 17 in tires. I don't go over 70 psi. If they are 11r 22.5 or bigger. Yes higher psi is required
Contact scale supervisor. Document it all. I have gotten into it because I run lower air pressure in my super singles to keep from tearing tire up. Michelin has recommended air pressure chart for tires all sizes based on weight moving. Have tire man come out sign off all tires equal pressure.
Wow 😳😳 that's awesome exhaust sounds can you make more videos of that truck driving it around with the exhaust sounds. This video blew my mind away, LoL
The 17.5 tires on my trailer say 125psi, I run them at 110-115 cause they heat up to 120 loaded. Running that tire at 85psi not only is it low and squatting out, it creates twice the heat in the tire. 85 is fine unloaded..loaded its no good
Just seeing this now 😢 And see you had the Gringe coming sooner that usual. Doesn’t he usually come around for Christmas?? Dang, that attitude and his aggressive (violent) behaviour is way out of line and NOT in line with operations and their guideline! Did you lawyer up and see this through? Amazing channel Tim and Braxton! You two are just badass!! Thanks for letting me watch on and have a blast the same time!! Best wishes, Dennis (F/ Denmark)
I worked for Schneider for many yrs driving a tanker. Dot always waved me through. It sucks that big carriers catch a brake but the little guys who have to hustle to find there way don't ever catch anything but a hard time. Hell I even always had a load and that by itself isnt so right.
I am a single truck independent operator and haven't set foot in a scale house for over a decade. It helps if you keep your equipment clean and don't operate like this jackass It's really no mystery.......
I’ve seen those “My brother is DOT and has sworn to shut you down” comments. That in itself is premeditation and could land him in hot water…. But be SMART about it and Data-Q it, plus consult an attorney that’s trucking-savvy. Putting them on “blast” only paints a bigger bullseye on your back….good to see the L9000 working, do you still have the other one?
You imagine being that guy going on other people harassing and picking on them because of whatever authority they feel they have over you. Getting shut down for a tire “low on air” whether it is or not is just plain ridiculous and hurts the business. I love trucking but honestly some things happening in the industry is just disgusting.
When I was wrenching for D.G. Coleman, it was 110 steer axle, 100 tractor drive axles, 85-90 on the trailer tires depending on whether they were in town or OTR. tl;dr =The FUUUUUuuuuuu*****?!?!??? Sounds pretty sketch to me, and you should look into going up the DOT COC.
DOT man is just being petty he did not hear a audible leak so he shouldn't of shut it down. Section 393.75 in the truckers Bible. Are you ever going to make sleeveless shirts for us big guys. Keep up the great work on the videos and did I hear Tim Gentry say MUFFLER?

You will win and they will most likely either be fired or put on restraint to stay far away from you and your business.
Personal vendetta has no place in any office.
LMMFAO if this really happened and was not fabricated by Tim, because he does this type of crap. The state would discover all the other shady crap going on with his trucks, and he would be in more trouble than he already is.
There is NO POINT in running max air pressure on a tire that never sees max weight!
I think I seen a video on that. The guy that put that fence up is on Social media. He said he bought the house and he found out that the neighbors driveway was on his property. So he fenced off the driveway access. I think it was tictok.
TIM, I ran 40 Trucks before I retired in 2001, 85 is all I ever ran in my tires, I don't think your DOT Fuss knows what the heck he is talking about!
I couldn't remember your e mail address, that's why I'm sending this here. I ran a trucking Co. For 16 years and it was located on the port of Charleston. They introduced me to a cleaner called Simple green. It's non toxic &, bio degradable. If your like me you hear all that and think there's no way this stuff will cut grease. It surprised me. I've even used it on the interior of my car, carpets are spotless now. Only reason I'm telling you about it I saw ya'll using purple power, I promise you'll never buy Any more purple power after trying this. You can get it Any where Lowes, wal mart etc. Keep up the great contend. Thanks for what you do. Mike
Always back a machine up the ramps if you can help it.. certainly helps when you've got no attachment on
As long as you’re running the recommended amount of air pressure on those tires there’s nothing they should be able to do
Sucks that you got someone with a little bit of power on a trip just singling yall out because of being petty. Hang in there man.
The person was probably picked on in high school by someone who looked like Tim or their daddy liked to beat them after pounding the liquor all day. It is a well established fact that people with power and control issues have them due to previously having no power and control. When I deal with people like that I always ask them if they were beaten by daddy when he he came home from the bar drunk.
The Dot gets over zealous at times .when i ran a dump truck for aready mix plant the Dot had stopped my truck 3 times in one day in the city limits of the town the plant was in and had no violations .
your L 9000 is a work horse, but you need back up lights on it or you might meet mr.DOT...
I enjoy all the ball busting that goes on on this channel 👍👍
70% of 120 psi is 84 dot can't even call 85lbs under inflated tire.
Like the way your dump truck talks to you 🙂
Good job Tim keep up the good work can't wait for the next video
That dump truck sounds the BEST of anything you have put on here.really awesome
That dump truck exhaust sounds damn good with that jake. Can’t beat the sound of a Cummins
All they have to do is look at the tire pressure rating on the tire, and if they check the pressure, and it’s below the rating on the tire, you can’t argue with that!👍🇨🇱
The air rate on the tire is the max pressure not the min. Min safe pressure is 75 psi on axle at max 34000lbs
The pressure stated is for maximum weight the tire can carry. So if you’re like me my steer tires are rated to 6600 pounds apiece with 120 psi in them I only carry 6000 apiece on them so I only put 100 psi in them because otherwise it crowns them out quicker then they are junk.
@@jeffelder942 how can you say that “if they don’t have a minimum pressure” ?🤦♂️
@@jeffelder942 how can you say that “if they don’t have a minimum pressure” ?🤦♂️
@@jeffelder942 when the trailer is empty, it should be the rating on the tire!🤦♂️
Dude first time I watched your video in a long time and first one in a long time and you always getting in trouble haha 😄 with dot
tim 2 straight dump trucks 87 freightliner blue and 72 diamond reo blue in egg harbor township nj on craigslist south jersey alittle rough but decent
DOT will find something on any truck if they want to. That's why I'm home for most of this week. Just another money grab by DOT.
Can't get anyone to deliver loads of HVAC equipment from Georgia or South Carolina to Canada because knowone wants to drive up here....lots of work, no drivers.
How are you an your family are doing great good to see you again buddy
Good luck with that D.O.T I had a problem with one officer when hauling anhydrous ammonia He quickly had a change of attitude when he smelled that stuff I don't know what you think about this but what about putting cat eyes air pressure gauges on your trailer tires it's just an idea good luck
Get some coverhauls for your mecks.
My cousin worked for a farmer that had a tri axle and air operated gate
I hope you can beat it Tim it's time we stop putting up with their sh.t
Excellent work Tim! Keep it up my brother!
Contact scale supervisor. Document it all.
I have gotten into it because I run lower air pressure in my super singles to keep from tearing tire up. Michelin has recommended air pressure chart for tires all sizes based on weight moving.
Have tire man come out sign off all tires equal pressure.
At times it almost seems like I’m watching Duck Dynasty. It sure feels like a wild ride in that cab
85 is fine unloaded..loaded its no good
by the looks the trailer is checked without a load on it, and then possibly confirmed by the driver with a tire pressure guage on the road if needed.
@@kurtfoulke5130 do you really think you know anything about his or anyone's day to day..you don't, stop being ignorant.
Have run 90 in mine for years, odd I have never had problems and they run out better then when I ran 100.
@@kurtfoulke5130 🤣
Man that cummins sounds 🔥love it
Just seeing this now 😢
And see you had the Gringe coming sooner that usual.
Best wishes,
Dennis (F/ Denmark)
I worked for Schneider for many yrs driving a tanker. Dot always waved me through. It sucks that big carriers catch a brake but the little guys who have to hustle to find there way don't ever catch anything but a hard time. Hell I even always had a load and that by itself isnt so right.
That's because the big carriers pay...they bribe. DOT is some criminal shit
I am a single truck independent operator and haven't set foot in a scale house for over a decade.
It helps if you keep your equipment clean and don't operate like this jackass
It's really no mystery.......
I would stop before the weigh station and air them up. Stop after leaving and put them back to whatever.
On that drama I'd say just be the better man and just keep going in there with good equipment.
That old ford sure loves singing
That's why u don't cross scales.. I avoid them like plauge
I could listen to that soundtrack all day long
Yes, you are absolutely right. The swamp rats are going after the little guy. Keep on truckin and fightin!!!!!!
Always something huh. Where’s Travis and Whiskey Bent these days?
Extra video content with all these projects etc might get you some extra $ to get more toys or more cabovers to fix up
I think that dot officer and his brother need to go have a sucking party keep up the good work tim keep them videos comming
yuins are doin a good job haulin that dirt.
