Here's a tip I learned. If you have floppy silicone molds, put a cutting board or tray under it. Now you can tap your mold all you want without spillage
That is what I do, I put them on cookie sheets with an edge. Easy to grab and bang away with. :)
@@scottiajordan4708 Right. Put the mold on a something flat and bang that. And don't move it anywhere. If you have to cover it, invert a box on top of it. I learned the hard way - they distort easily.
I'm learning so much from you. You are a awesome teacher
I love this idea. Even if you make it once, it's a good conversation starter which can lead the way into other luxurious ingredients used in other soaps. If someone wants to buy it, I wouldn't feel guilty selling it, it's a luxury item and is priced that way.
This soap drops in the bath?!
I'd yell like cray-cray 😂 😂
👍🤣🤣🤣
Me tooooo
This was so exciting to watch because I’ve wanted to see a Kokum butter recipe for a while!!!
Wow! There are some oils in there that I have not heard of before!
That is one heck of a bar of soap. I'd love to try it. Thanks for sharing. Love all your videos.
Fabulous face soap! Soap maker’s private stash.
I love your lux bar! Most of all your creativity in formulating the recipe. The dusting of gold mica makes it pop! I love watching your videos!
Nice soap. Every soap don't require full color. Love the idea of dust mica
That's a full tub of expensive face cream in a bar of soap! How good that will be for your skin.
I wouldn't use this anywhere but my face, neck and dec for that price! I honestly thought you were going to fragrance it with Rose Absolute! This is taking eco-luxe to the next level, you could give Tata Harper a run for their money. $100 for a bottle of cleanser, that's just overkill, haha!
What a beautiful business minded women you are😍
What a lovely compliment. Thank you Sally!
I thought you made a mistake on the price $50 😂 when I saw this in my feed. I’ll just keep that $50 bar of soap to myself 😂🤣😂
Sell it and people will buy it. Makes it even better for you. Change it up and make it yours.
I would like to try this for my own personal use but I can’t get the amount of lye to use in a soap calculator as echium oil isn’t on any of them
Try only with the others as a 0-1% superfat recipe and add the echium oil as your main superfat.
Then I would try with half a batch to be sure.
Thank you so much I will do that
Beautiful with oils I have never heard of. Great marketing idea, thank you
Wow! Nice Soap.... I use 91% rubbing alcohol mixed with mica & biodegradable eco glitter it applies very easily to the outside of the soap. :) the alcohol evaporates.
Does the color remain after use?
@@tarawalker7193 it washes off. if you want color to remain you need to add the mica to the soap batter.
@@beccasbythebay Oh ok.
I use rubbing alcohol as a mixing medium for the eco glitter or mica to paint onto the outside of the soap the alcohol evaporates & does not remain.
I use biodegradable eco glitters that dissolve in water & are skin safe
Thank you so much for sharing these videos! I learned the basics with you and these special bars are really neat to see too!
It will be wonderful to use!
A very interesting recipe for me. Made me think. Why do I need to use this soap ? and I couldn’t answer, thanks.
Fabulous!!
Yummy!!!! I will have to give this recipe a try!!!
That's so pretty. I would use it as decorations before I used them.
Really, Helichrysum essential oil in soap ??? make a lotion or cream face with it, not a wash product.
Yup, goes right down the drain. If I'm going to use such an expensive essential oil I want it to linger as long as possible
If you don't mind me asking, what supplier do you use for the less common oils or additives
I want to know this too!
I love your soaping videos! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us.
Gorgeous soap.
beautiful soap. how many ounces were the soaps? Also, how well does it lather since it doesn't have coconut or plam oil
Once again she is a superstar. 🤩. You go girl!!!!
Cool, your videos are for me to learn with to make my soaps better:)
This is what taking it to the next level is all about. Love this! No doubt this will bring attention, the good kind, to your soaps. Very nicely done :)
I think some hand painting would take it up another notch! I would offer it as an add on. I. Would th thoroughly enjoy painting them. Win win.
Wow. Interesting
Why didn't you add some gold to the batch? Then brush on gold mica and glitter at the end. You will get a much better coverage. alcohol also helps it stick to the bar. It would also be nice to know the difference and benefit of each soft oil.
Excellent 👍
Looking at recipes from the soaping101.com website. 1 of the recipes required both sodium and potassium hydroxide. Is it required to mix separately with water?? Or can you add 1 on top of the other in addition to the water??
Which recipe are you referring to?
@@soaping101 ; the Soaping 101's Cream Soap.
You can video the video here showing how to use the hydroxides: ruclips.net/video/6IHTkqP21-E/видео.html
This is divine. I wonder what it feels like on the skin. 🤤
Wow!! 🤩
It seemed to come to emulsion super fast
Hi maam, can you please help to explain about sf or superfat? Am confused, if I used hot process method then in my soap calc 0% then the sf is for example 3 or 5% should I get it from the oils or add-ons? I hope I pick an answer from you maam. Thank you so much
Please see this video on superfatting: ruclips.net/video/lw3qge8GAEI/видео.html
Wow this is stunning. Were you able to sell it. I could see at a high end salon maybe
Reminds me of NYC’s $25,000 Sundae. Though, I use many of those ingredients in my shampoo bars. Maybe I need to look at my pricing better 😜. Beautiful soap, thank you for sharing!
Looks great!
OMG worth every penny beautifull. X
where are you getting these oils.. ive never even heard of some of them..edit...can I just ask where you get all ur info from so I can learn as you have? you seem very informed (Ive watched tons of your videos)
I really want to make this!! Do you have a receipt list for this?
Was it the combo of oils or the EO that caused it to trace so quickly. Beautiful bar. My favorite mold.
Essential oils tend to that along with floral.
What if I don’t have the soap mixture, can I use a stick?
Awesome sauce!! 😘
For that price, you best be putting gold leaf on it. But I get what you are saying, I do a few luxury ‘gift sets’ that run about $50.00 for four small bars...and I sell them.
How much the oils water and lye
What is the lye water ratio
How is the lather of this soap?
I looovveee this!!
I just want to know if you were able to actually sell them?
Looks rich, but my 2 cents, I'd rather use those oils in a nice body butter that stays on my skin instead of washing down the drain. I'd definitely make smaller bars and do a soap, scrub, and body butter set. :-)
Didn’t find echium seed oil in soap calculator?
I would love to try to make this but as another person commented, the echium seed oil is not on a soap calc. It would be awesome if you could share the amount of water and lye you used?
Beautiful, but the micas stick to the wrapper. How do we make it stick to the soap
wow is all i can say
Thanks for sharing,
Im your new subscriber
how is your Sea Buckthorn oil so clear and not outrageously orange? Where do you source it?
I would like to make this and use it
😍🔥
Would love to try that soap for sure!!!!!💯⚓️👁💫🐝
Wow!
Soap making list send
I don't use the microwave to melt my butters
My butters are melted in my oil tank but for small video batches, the microwave on low 30 second bursts makes quick work of the task. You will notice that my butters never rose much above 100°F.
In my opinion so much mica changed the concept of the just natural beautiful color.
😱😱😱😍😍😍
Definitely wanna see how this performs. ❤️
Liked your comment and then noticed your name!! 😂😂🤣🤣
Christee F lmfao sick of it!
I would be scared shitless to use all those expensive oils and mess up the soap
!
I feel like for that price I would want color throughout the bar.. Even if that made it a 60$ bar.. 🤷🏽
💓💓💓🇵🇹
Aaa!!!
Hand on heart - I would never talk anyone into buying a $50.00 bar of soap, even if they could afford it. The guilt would eat me up something chronic. I would never make a $50.00 bar of soap and I know I can afford to do it. And since you have posted this on here for people to see, I’m assuming you are after a conversation as well. As pretty and probably very luxurious this might be...it’s a nope from me. I wouldn’t start that conversation, not even with my friends.
I make my own soaps and have done so since about 2015 only because commercial soaps were driving my skin to distraction. My greatest pleasure by far is my pure olive oil soaps. Or the combination of olive and coconut oil, coconut cream and coconut water soaps. I do not use any fragrances as I think that might have been part of the reason my skin was always itchy, even as far back as when I was a child.
Thank you for sharing and I have seen your other videos over time. This is definitely a different one...nice mould though.😊
Ok I know this is expensive but i would never pay that for 1 bar of soap that is just ridiculous, I believe you could make something very similar and it wouldn't cost a fortune.
The benefits from this is .05 or 5%. That lye water turned those wonderful oils into soap. Had you cooked it. Used a less expensive oil for the base, used those expensive oils for the final process called super fatting your soap at a 15% , this would have been worth the $50.
Thank you for your opinion. There is no way to know how much benefit this soap offers without having it lab tested. Unfortunately, you are not in possession of this bar so your figures cannot be accurate. BTW, this soap was indeed superfatted.
Rhys Porter - You still never know which oils are saponified and which end up in ‘superfat’. Just because you add the oil last doesn’t mean anything, you have no control over how the lye behaves. You’ve received bad information from somewhere.
Exactly @soaping101!
And totally correct @lisaodonnell
If this were true then what's the point of ever using anything but the cheapest oils for every bar of soap you make? Just make it all vegetable oil and coconut oil. Lol. Very wrong science in this arguement. You can try all different recipes with different oil combos and chose to add them when you will and they will all come out different. This lady knows her science so I'd think twice before arguing her methods. I'm grateful she does the experimenting for us before I throw a bunch of money and product down the drain. Besides this is more for fun or a very high end business obviously.
Soaping101 and you my dear have no idea where mica comes from. Well now you do. Why don't you spend your 5% or plus to child labor minors or the childrens surviving family members that have parished in these mines. I'm sure you will continue to show you don't care by continuing to use your mica. But it's not your problem right?
Pete Manke - To whom are you speaking? This comment is about superfatting. If you have a mica concern, bring it up in your own comment as opposed to a response about an unrelated issue. People don’t know where a lot of things come, maybe you have a valid concern. I wouldn’t assume anyone would do nothing with the knowledge or not care. Sheesh!
All that trouble and you didn't make enough to balance it out enough for an even batch of 6?!
