    Here's a tip I learned. If you have floppy silicone molds, put a cutting board or tray under it. Now you can tap your mold all you want without spillage

      @@scottiajordan4708 Right. Put the mold on a something flat and bang that. And don't move it anywhere. If you have to cover it, invert a box on top of it. I learned the hard way - they distort easily.

    I love this idea. Even if you make it once, it's a good conversation starter which can lead the way into other luxurious ingredients used in other soaps. If someone wants to buy it, I wouldn't feel guilty selling it, it's a luxury item and is priced that way.

    I wouldn't use this anywhere but my face, neck and dec for that price! I honestly thought you were going to fragrance it with Rose Absolute! This is taking eco-luxe to the next level, you could give Tata Harper a run for their money. $100 for a bottle of cleanser, that's just overkill, haha!

    Hand on heart - I would never talk anyone into buying a $50.00 bar of soap, even if they could afford it. The guilt would eat me up something chronic. I would never make a $50.00 bar of soap and I know I can afford to do it. And since you have posted this on here for people to see, I’m assuming you are after a conversation as well. As pretty and probably very luxurious this might be...it’s a nope from me. I wouldn’t start that conversation, not even with my friends.
    I make my own soaps and have done so since about 2015 only because commercial soaps were driving my skin to distraction. My greatest pleasure by far is my pure olive oil soaps. Or the combination of olive and coconut oil, coconut cream and coconut water soaps. I do not use any fragrances as I think that might have been part of the reason my skin was always itchy, even as far back as when I was a child.
    Thank you for sharing and I have seen your other videos over time. This is definitely a different one...nice mould though.😊

  • @ryvysong
    @ryvysong 5 лет назад +3

    The benefits from this is .05 or 5%. That lye water turned those wonderful oils into soap. Had you cooked it. Used a less expensive oil for the base, used those expensive oils for the final process called super fatting your soap at a 15% , this would have been worth the $50.

    • @soaping101
      @soaping101  5 лет назад +14

      Thank you for your opinion. There is no way to know how much benefit this soap offers without having it lab tested. Unfortunately, you are not in possession of this bar so your figures cannot be accurate. BTW, this soap was indeed superfatted.

    • @lisao3041
      @lisao3041 5 лет назад +4

      Rhys Porter - You still never know which oils are saponified and which end up in ‘superfat’. Just because you add the oil last doesn’t mean anything, you have no control over how the lye behaves. You’ve received bad information from somewhere.

    • @christeef6840
      @christeef6840 5 лет назад +3

      Exactly @soaping101!
      And totally correct @lisaodonnell
      If this were true then what's the point of ever using anything but the cheapest oils for every bar of soap you make? Just make it all vegetable oil and coconut oil. Lol. Very wrong science in this arguement. You can try all different recipes with different oil combos and chose to add them when you will and they will all come out different. This lady knows her science so I'd think twice before arguing her methods. I'm grateful she does the experimenting for us before I throw a bunch of money and product down the drain. Besides this is more for fun or a very high end business obviously.

    • @Kat00001
      @Kat00001 5 лет назад +2

      Soaping101 and you my dear have no idea where mica comes from. Well now you do. Why don't you spend your 5% or plus to child labor minors or the childrens surviving family members that have parished in these mines. I'm sure you will continue to show you don't care by continuing to use your mica. But it's not your problem right?

    • @lisao3041
      @lisao3041 5 лет назад +3

      Pete Manke - To whom are you speaking? This comment is about superfatting. If you have a mica concern, bring it up in your own comment as opposed to a response about an unrelated issue. People don’t know where a lot of things come, maybe you have a valid concern. I wouldn’t assume anyone would do nothing with the knowledge or not care. Sheesh!
