I meant it more in the "choose how you wish to play" kinda way where you don't have set ways of playing the class and still be of value to the team lol but I get what you're saying
Yeah, it kinda feels like a FUNKe copy, especially with the ratings revolving around albums. And I’m all for it, I can personally never get enough of this style.
I like using shotguns for the burst, and I really like the Axtinguisher but I dont use it much cause I cant get close enough I even bought a festive and everything
Man this is video is really good, ticked 9/10 boxes for me. I loved the animations, the jokes, the writing, the edits and god damn are you good at pyro, really impressive. Truly well done! Only thing this needs now is some more sound effects and you have a 10/10 my friend. Keep it up! [also nice trigger discipline on the flare gun, wouldnt wanna hurt the camera guy :)]
I love all the recent discussions on movement shooters, typically they center on rocket jumping but this video offered a new perspective tha I did not expect. Good video 👍
First 10 seconds and I'm already hooked, it's an absolute CRIME you don't have more subs because this editing is S TIER. I respect you for being not only an amazing editor, but also making content about something that is really cool to discuss! I really appreciate your content and please keep it up! ❤
you could even think of Call of Duty as having combos, at least the older ones, with trickshotting. i remember learning all types of different instaswaps nacs, reload swaps and cancels, stalls, you name it
Before watching your video, I already played combo pyro but switched back to spy out of enjoyment, then came back and almost instantaniously fell in love with combo pyro after getting one giant dopamine rush from knocking a heavy into the air with a pipe after setting him on fire, detonator jumping up then smacking him with the axetinguisher
How do you only have 2.6k subs your editing is amazing and your video topics ate engaging and unique. btw ur character looks like the guy from inscription. I am also a Tyler fan as well lol.
This video is such a pleasant mashup of a bunch of different styles that I can just recognise under your own unique flare, Maxor, AveragePixel, Funke etc
LOVE the video, the lazypurple references, the ultrakill, the FUNKe references, THE MFING EDITING OMG AND THAT DAMN PYRO FIT, just all amazing! just read about the trigger discipline on the flare gun too OMG you're awesome!
Sea of Thieves of all games used to have a really interesting animation cancel system. All the guns are single fire with a very long reload time. You can swap weapons during the the reload animation (which doesn't allow for backpack reloading), but normally you'd need to wait for a relatively long draw animation before you could fire. But the draw animation was cancelable into sprint, which was cancelable into ADS. That meant you could fire -> switch -> sprint -> ADS -> fire in a fraction of a second (the dreaded "double gun" technique), which, if your aim was true, was a guaranteed kill. Rare eventually patched this out by adding a hard cooldown timer between drawing and firing. There were also several small animation cancel techniques that they patched out over the years, mostly involving canceling a long cooldown by stowing an item and pulling it out. If you did the first two hits of your sword combo then stow-canceled it, you could throw out consistent damage rather than waiting for the long cooldown after the finisher. By stow-canceling your bucket you could nearly double the rate at which you could bail the ship, while also making the task much more skillful. And, similarly, stow-canceling the dig animation for the shovel could double the rate for pulling up treasure, which was very useful in the old Arena mode. I miss old Sea of Thieves.
I love the video! I loved seeing TF2 and fighting games mentioned! You make great jokes also! Though there was elements like the rating that felt like it leaned a lil too much on Foekoe. Keep up the good work, bell ticked!
Great animations and you had some good topics to talk about. I’ll have to give ultrakill a visit. Also love tf2 but I suck at pyro so market gardening is my dopamine dump.
One example that comes to mind for me is the original Unreal Tournament game. I don't remember if there were that many combos, but it definitely utilized a lot of quickswitching stuff and encouraged you to vary your weapons in the middle of a fight. One particular combo was with the shock rifle (the weapon in slot 4, between the green slime gun and the green plasma rifle), where you would alt-fire to shoot a slow moving lightning orb, and then primary fire to detonate the orb creating a large explosion.
At 6:00 when the pizza tower music started playing I got confused, as pizza tower isn't really a FPS or combo-game XD Also I'm glad hisanimations linked to this in his community tab, this is good, yet extremely underrated stuff! :)
This is a great video holy cow. I love the editing, the jokes, the topic, the delivery. Well freaking done I'll be looking forward to moore from you hahaha
Thats crazy. I just finished playing ultrakill the other day, and I was thinking about how the only multiplayer fps that even comes close to ultrakill's stylish combos is Pyro's gameplay, and then I get suggested this video lol. Solid vid 👌
My favorite pyro move is the “sketchek” named after the RUclipsr that popularized it then faked his death for some reason, it’s an extinguisher combo with a mandatory detonator blast to launch you into the air. The secret is that if you have your “switch your weapon to the last used weapon” button switch you from your flamethrower to your axe, you can puff out only 1-2 flame particles right before hitting them with the axtinguisher, meaning you can even hit pyros with it
super late but holy shit, haven’t seen a tf2 video essay with pacing this good that had me actually laughing this often in a good while, so glad i found your channel + this video
bro this video is so niche to me. I love all of these games like ultrakill and tf2 are some of my favorite games of all time. and your editing style is great I hope you blow up more man love the good work.
the asmd shockrifle from the unreal / unreal tournament series has always been my favorite weapon ever. even at its most basic form, it has 3 disticts firing mechanics. 1- a hitscan with VERY HIGH stagger. it pushes the target around so hard they can hardly aim or move if you hit your every shot. the second one is a slow move but decently damaging and fast firing projectile. and the third one, the one that makes this weapon so iconic, happens when you hit the secondary projectile with the primary fire. it explodes in an extremely large area and does massive, disproportional damage. it's so awesome. on its most intricate iteration, you could also stop the secondary projectile in mid air to make traps with it. you could even stop multiple projectiles and cause a chain reaction of explosions with all of them. but at this point, i thought it was too much. plus the explosions were nerfed to hell in this game so it didn't feel very satisfying.
I was gonna comment "you remind me of FUNKe, in the greatest way possible" but then I saw the album rating at 5:57 and I knew. You are so amazing, 100% subbed.
something that's pretty looked over when talking about tf2 combos is the other combos other classes can pull off pyro is the undisputed king of combos with a seeminly limitless skill ceiling but there's something special about short circuit jumping over a soldier before blasting him point blank with a panic attack or completely erasing a medic from the timeline as a hybridknight by shieldbashing them then shoving a grenade down their throat that simultaneously launches you away to safety they're not as flashy as the pyro's combos and most of the time are too situational to work (except for the bash & blast combo I've used that one quite a bit) but they are possible and can add a bit of flare to some weapons that are rare to see
I do like that, despite the funke inspiration being there, it's still your own. the little nod to him directly with the "rating something out of a weezer album" but making it tyler was a nice little thing, but also funny.
Just found this channel, and hoo boy what a trip. Funny commentary, good editing, a neat animated avatar, and several cleevr moments (Cough, 8:59) Earned a sub right away.
jesus christ this is one of the most creative videos ive seen in a long time, good job dude you really seem to take the potencial of good editing to the limit

Im a bit late but thank you for this. Its an already incredible video but the combo pyro part was very lovely for me and many others in the community. You really managed to put into perspective the dopamine and general skill which goes into the playstyle and I hope your video becomes an inspo for many others to begin delving into this playstyle and honing their abilities. Also thanks for plugging some of the lesser known channels. Their content is incredible and pushes the boundary of what I even thought was possible for the class (Talking about pyroman 50) so their recognition is well deserved. Thank you :steamhappy:
SUPER great video! i love the funke inspiration in terms of visuals and pacing, but you have a very charming individualistic style in regards to your humor and personality. you have loads of potential, and if you keep making content, i think you could amass a solid following. good work!

I could see the inspiration from FUNKe instantly but your style is very different and I liked it. Great video!
