Did this in my 1 tonner back in 1985. Lots of 4x4s waiting for tide to go out. Was lucky, but timed it well, came out running on 6 cylinders. Pulled up once through, sprayed some CRC on the motor and took off. All the 4x4ers couldn't believe it.

Those 3 patrols are cleaned religiously and are regularly checked over and all rust is stopped, removed or treated long before it gets anywhere close to developing past surface rust and it would be a shock for any of them to ever come up on the market as there all building those cars to own until they die

They'll be rusting within minutes of contact with salt water. The heat on the metal (a few degrees to tens of degrees), salt, water, dissimilar metals and other electrolytic processes, electrical current flowing within chassis components (that's the negative rail of the 12 volt battery, positive rail goes to all electrical components to be switched on or off as needed) will promote rust and rust will take hold and will appear first where there are dissimilar metals, such as steel for chassis rails and HT steel bolts for the rails. Those vehicles are doomed.
