Roots Revival at Morgenland Festival Osnabruck - Story of Live Music during the Pandemic!

This is a Virtual Rebirth of Roots Revival's Cancelled Performance at the Morgenland Festival Osnabruck in Germany.
This video consists of two songs composed and arranged by Mehdi Aminian inspired by Maria Casandra Hauși’s repertoire from Maramures.
Mehdi Aminian was invited to Morgenland Festival Osnabrück in 2020 to put together a project for the “Balkan beyond Brass” yearly topic of the festival. However, with the emergence of the Pandemic, the festival was cancelled and Roots Revival team decoded with Morgenland Festival to create a production with parts of the repertoire. The musicians have filmed and recorded their parts at their homes in 6 different countries and the recording and the film has been produced in Austria and Romania.
This production reflects our approach towards the paradoxical existence of live music and musicians during the pandemic; a tragedy taken with humor and serenity in anticipation for better times. Depicting the musicians on the tombstones at the Merry Cemetery of Săpânța reflects best our approach to the hard times of the pandemic.

The Merry Cemetery (Romanian: Cimitirul Vesel) is a cemetery in the village of Săpânța, Maramureş county, Romania. It is famous for its brightly colored tombstones with naive paintings describing, in an original and poetic manner, the people who are buried there in addition to scenes and funny epitaphs depicting their lives. The Merry Cemetery became an open-air museum. More here:
