A few things in regards to reverse lockout on non type s ecus. The rsx base PND ecu only requires repinning the harness if you run a type s 6 speed harness. If you just run the rsx base engine harness, there is no repinning, rather just move the intake butterfly runner plug over to the reverse lockout plug, it fits exactly the same. In Kpro, set the ecu to run in PRB mode and the ecu automatically sets reverse lockout to run on that intake butterfly runner plug in TSX and k20a2/z1 fuel maps. I dont know about the other ecus like the ep3 or crv, but on mine it worked instantly without issues. There is very little difference between the rsx ecus and thus no need to spend upwards of $4-500 just to get a type s unit. Base rsx ecus go for about $200 but get this, you can even do all this on an automatic ecu if you want to save even more. Just have to run the vss wire directly to the kpro board.
So just wondering if i got a 08 K24A2 motor (TSX) And a z3 trans (Civic Si) I can have both reverse lockout and the vss on an auto ecu?(03 rsx base). In combination with a type s harness? Because i have like 2 of them i thought were useless and was worried about having to spring for a type s ecu. Im decent with wiring and I see that if you send it in through one of their dealers they automatically give you that wire that accepts the speed signal from the auto ecu
@@ravisieun8218 if using kpro on a base 02-04 rsx PND ecu and a type s harness, you will have to repin the reverse lockout wire to the b22 plug. On a type s harness it will be an open slot because type s's dont have that sensor. If using an auto ecu, you will have to run the vss signal wire directly to the vss input on the kpro unit, and tell it to read alternative vss input in the software. There is also information on this on hondata's website.
I was honestly waiting for this reply because I just wanted to see what my chances of were of getting reverse lockout functionality on the automatic ecu before I sent it in to have it done. I know it's possible, just wasn't sure if it was the same method between auto and manual ecu. Thank you

Yes please make that kit. I’ll buy one right now lol. I’ve been running my k24a4 swap with Accord trans but haven’t been able to get the speedometer working bc of the wiring.
I'm in the process of collecting parts for my k swap now. I keep coming back to your videos for tips and tricks. Thanks for helping me throughout this swap.
I wish I could’ve had my swap done differently. 2000 Civic HX, formerly J-Swapped, when 3 lobe JDM K24A with mercracing tvs900 SC and EP3 trans with 06-11 civic LSD. With the 3in pulley on stock internals except ported RSX S oil pump. The shop that did my swap left in the J-swap shift assembly….crooked so it’s a far reach for me for 5th and reverse. Just wish I had the budget to get more stuff replaced but life is in the way right now. She made 285hp and 198tq. Compared to my 8th Gen Si with the comptech sc made 303hp and 200tq with a 2.95in pulley. Things I would have done differently, if budget allowed, 6spd manual for sure, and built engine. Along with strengthening up the driveline.
I've always been pretty intimidated of the k-swap. It just seems like a lot more custom work needed, and soooo many combinations of k-series engines/tranny. Maybe one day I'll undertake it.
About to do a k24 swap into my da. Pretty much no info on conversation harnesses for the da platform. And only one off the shelf hydro conversion made by hush (that is no longer available). Alot of one of stuff to do
I'm in the middle of my swap. If you have some mechanical knowledge it is a very simple swap. If I could do one thing differently it would be to spend the extra money on a complete engine and transmission assembly from an rsx or civic si. I pretty much pieced my swap together to save some money and ended up spending the same or more than an assembly would have costed me at the time from a jdm importer.
@@mikelmorgan6409 Innovative makes a much better cable to hydro conversion that you wont have to modify your pedals. And its much better than the older lever types. @@AcuraLvR82 i didn't like how that kit made the clutch pedal feel. I lucked out and found someone selling the hush kit. I paid a premium for it though.
I thought you was going to bring up mounts. For my understanding that they are two companies that sell the best fitment of mounts. But for a guy like me I have a stock ep3 i used to daily that I wrecked a few months ago. I was getting tired of 2 door vehicles so I came across a deal of a 4 door ek with motor knock that I decided will be great for me to k swap. Keep in mind i want a daily it will have ac and ps. Do I need the $400 mounts or will the budget ones be good. Also with the subframe do I need the eg or will the axle angle be good for a long term daily. Thank you for the information you give. Please keep sharing your knowledge.
A lot of people run cheap mounts but also have tons of issues with engine placement, axle breakage, etc. I even once saw on the forum a guy could not access his vtc valve at all with them. Think of your mounts like the literal foundation of uour engine swap Get the Hasport mounts and all those issues will not happen, so its definitely worth the premium they cost. And yes if youre doing it in an EK, an EG/DC subframe is an absolute must. DC rack is best for power steering.
So other then the k24a whats another k24 thats desirable and maybe more affordable? I see them swapped out of crv’s but are there years that would be ideal over others??
I have an EP3 in which im replacing my K20A3 with a JDM K20A with a K20Z3 RBC head replacement. Do you think my stock axles will be okay with the swap. Don’t think I’m gonna be making more than 250WHP
So with an 05 manual rsx K20/K24 wit si 6 speed trans With rsx type s harness Will i have to do the modification or nah ? Im askin cuz everything has different setups
Great information thanks again for the help, Mark i have a question so iam in the process where I am not using k-tuned or hybrid racing emobilizer by pass, I am actually using the oem one. By any chance would you have any information on how to iam running 05-06 Rsx type S swap I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again. Yes we would be interested in the conversion Speedo. 😎😎🤙🤙😎😎
css uses 5v power supply vs vss using 12v. the adapter will not correct this. also you forgot another common issue/trick. GROUND OUT TO A STUD NOT A BOLT. lol so many issues caused by this.
@@AcuraLvR82 correcting the power supply will not fix the speed output. v4 hondata will act as a speed convertor to output the correct signal. using 12v on a 5v sensor will burn it out.
