Everything that could've been said about this game had been said, but i want to add how much i appreciate Ferryman's attitude changing. He goes from thinking he's talking to an adult soul and doing that "jackpot" wolf howl part to thinking that the "adult soul" is a dirty liar for tricking him, to trying to comfort Benjamin in "it's okay, Benny", as he realises that it is a child in front of him, trying to make up a life because he's ashamed of not being good enough
I can not get through this game without crying... its really so powerful. im so glad you played this. the idea the mother portrayed at the end that just by living and touching the hearts of the people around you, thats what makes a life well lived.
I'm a therapist myself, and of course part of our jobs involves listening to some really sad and devastating things, and of course a lot of us get into this profession because we have had some fairly sad and devastating things happen to us ourselves, but I honestly don't think anything has made me sob in the same way this game has, it's absolutely phenomenal and utterly awful.
There are so many symbolisms in this game: The agave was brought up early, saying it has to die so a tree can grow in its place. You the player were already foreshadowed, but little did we realize that you are the agave, and the lesson of the game is the tree that will bloom once you finished it. The cat with one eye from the beginning, I speculate that her missing eye is the eye of judgment from the cat goddess in the end. Also, the cat goddess was also foreshadowed by the history teacher when you were in school, but you may not notice it because of how boring the teacher explains it, like how many schools teach these days. The metronome, apart from being a game mechanic, is a symbol of a rapid changing of pace and the intensity of your life moving forward, and oftentimes, you'll feel lost in the music and be called for being off tune, which is also true in our lives. When we feel overwhelmed, we will be thrown off by challenges in our lives. The idea of blinking is a very good mechanic, but also, it is a symbol of the saying "time flies in a blink of an eye", and even there are moments that we want to stay in certain moments of the story, we can't because of how involuntary our blinks are. We all want to stay on some of the most important moments of our lives, but time has to move forward, and years will go by and we will be reminiscing the days that flew by, full of regrets and questions, more specifically, "What if?" Art is something only you can work, and no other individual can reproduce it. And like all pieces of art, we all to start on a blank canvass. The child passed away without ever fully realizing what his life would be, essentially living a somewhat blank life. And so, the remaining empty spaces were filled with a false life of an artist, claiming that he became famous and lived a struggling but fulfilling life. There would come a time that we might find our lives to be dull and unsatisfactory, so we might be tempted to add glittering yet false or slightly misleading details to make it more pleasing for others to see. There are other details that I might be missing, but I'm pretty sure we all have our own version of how we see things about this game. But I'm also sure we can agree that this is a good game.
Not gonna lie… I was looking for playthroughs and I was going to skip to some of my favorite parts, but the way you reacted to Ernie in the beginning clip made me just let the whole 1h40m video play 😭 I’m not crying.. you’re crying!
I thought that too, I think the doctor appointment scene hinted on that a little bit (She missed the blinks light up the room so we didn’t see it here). Aswell as the dialogue and how his mother talks about his condition. Although, I think the game wants it to be non-specific. A vague chronic illness to make it relatable to a wider amount of people.
man, this game as well as That Dragon, Cancer make me so emotional, especially when you know they're stories that are happening all over the world. That Dragon, Cancer is much more heartbreaking though, seeing how it's actually based on a true story. Cannot recommend it enough if just to support the creators. Would also recommend To The Moon. Very good game.
I read the mother with far more grace the first time I saw this game. I see the layers and imperfections more clearly this go, but that's how humans are, I guess. Beautiful game.
Hi! This might sound a bit rude or something, but I was wondering if you could cover “The beginners guide”? It’s not a recent game, but I’d love to hear your commentary on it, don’t feel pressured to cover it, this is just a request!
I've played and watched this game multiple times at this point and this still hurts me in the best way possible. Before Your Eyes is unlikely to ever go down as a blockbuster hit, but to those who have experienced this game... I think it'll be an important one to them. It was very interesting to get your take on this story since a lot of the things you'd pointed out, such as how the mother probably forced a bit of her own dreams onto Benny are things that I've seen people speculate on, or how perspectives always cloud everyone's view, so it was interesting to hear that you reached a similar conclusion, so thanks for playing through and making this video.
I love your vids so much and how you analyse everything lol have you played life is strange because i feel like that would definitely be your sort of game?
I think the blink-detection was having issues because you were looking to the side. Might have worked better if the camera was on top of, in stead of to the side of, you screen? You seem to have enjoyed it nevertheless, which is the important part. :)
After watching the whole thing, this playthrough is a disheartening r/whoosh ... this game should be the bar exam for aspiring therapists and psychiatrists

It's such a powerful game. The part at the end with the mom is definitely the most emotional part for me.
I like how the “Pain” flurry thing fades when Chloe walks in. Either it was right timing or it actually was Chloe who helped.

I thought I wouldn't cry since I played it the first time, sobbing right now
This was such an emotional rollercoaster I haven't heard of this game before but I am glad you played this !
God this game broke me down, I haven't cried like this in a long time. I probably needed that, though.
The game spells out bye

Wow, I just finished playing this game the other day and then you post a video on it! You consistently come out with playthroughs of games I enjoy
I noticed the pain things kinda look like cancer cells
Oh no. :c

That dog (srry i dont remember his name) was so sympathetic when he found out he was a kid- *AAAAA I CANT THIS IS TOO MUCH I LOVED IT*
Normally I prefer things uncensored, but this time I was glad you did it. That was definitely not something I would've wanted to see :(
i've seen like 3 playthroughs of this game now... i still cry every time at those last few minutes TT^TT
The way how the story it's tell in the game it's so good, I can't stop crying, what a good game.

I really love the first scene, and the mechanics in this game are soo interesting, its amazing
It's such different mechanics! It goes against what we do without thinking and how our body reacts normally. Especially with such an emotional game.
Its kinda like that game on iOS, about cats in their "happy place", remembering moments of their life. Playing with emotions.
this game is amazing, it’s.. im not sure how to describe it, but its one of the few that brought me to tears
The second half of this game broke me in ways I haven’t been broken before
This game makes me fight tears every time.
I really love and appreciate your insights at the end after you finish playing
PLEASE play Beginner's Guide! It has so much emotional/mental stuff in it.
Just saw the full playthrough, this game is one of my favorites, it's so different, thanks for playing it
I've watched countless playthroughs of this game, and I've teared up every single time.
That was a beautiful playthrough of a beautiful game =;D Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness!

That's not rude at all. It's definitely on my list of games to play.
Well this game got me crying and I feel depressed
I'll just cheer myself up with funny videos

thank you so much for playing this game! I haven't watched your video yet but I think it's the perfect game for you to play!
i don't think a game has ever made me cry this much before
1:06:32 tells you to skip to itself. Which is interesting.

Wait what is this channel : O Why don't I know about it? This is great! About to binge your videos, love your vibe!
Oh I didn't know it was different from first love to best friend

Ok, I’d suggest you maybe try Good Pizza Great Pizza. Play something pleasant and easy for a bit, yeah? Just for you, maybe. It’s free on mobile
