I always just assumed she lived an easy and pampered life. Shows how little we actually know about people. I love how she says we don’t have to be a victim of our circumstance. Very inspirational! Just pre-ordered!
She's fine af
@@JohnSmith-pg9ns that's wut u got from that comment bruh 😂😂
@@alfblue4734 from the video and you did too
I enjoyed her book.
I read the book and it is good but she has not learned a damn thing.
The difference between how she frames her story and how others talk about their horrible mothers- makes me want to buy the book. She does it with humility and humanity, and not just victimized hate. What growth. Love it!
SPOT ON!
@@TorieLives I think the original commenter Monique was saying that she loves how Minka does not victimize herself. You just contradicted your point ….first you said you should let people handle it their own way but then you said let them grow in their own way, which contradicts the first part of what you said. Handling it in their own way implies it’s their choice to either grow or not grow. Growth means not letting yourself be a victim. So you’re saying people should be allowed to victimize themselves but then grow in their own way …..which are inherently opposite, and so this makes not a lick of sense. Monique’s comment was spot on and there’s no judgment there.
She's amazing.
The book is wonderful.
It's a good read and I found myself feeling sorry for her except by the end of the book she keeps repeating the same mistake on who she hooks up with. Like now she is over 40 and is still going with rock stars. She needs to go after rich men over 55.
Wow, growing up with such a mother, I don't think many people understand how severely painful it is. Now that I know, I see it in her eyes and the way she moves and speaks. You carry that trauma from parenting with you even after you're "free" from toxic parents. It's hard because you get shunned by well-raised people, nobody explains things to you because they think you should've learned it at home, which you couldn't. You learn things about the social world VERY late. She says she only learned being available for friends late, those things people just know in high school for some reason and it's because they grew up in a better household. This is some really good stuff to share as a public figure, I wish there was something like this when I was still struggling hard. Being peaceful inside is never passive, always pro-active, for children who grew up in toxic households, especially under narcissistic parents who weren't really prepared to parent.
"Now that I know, I see it in her eyes and the way she moves and speaks"
Can you please explain that? Thanks
Wow! Thank you for this.
I went thru a similar experience to Minka and hearing you articulate how we move thru the world was insightful and appreciative ❤
Great interview. She is a lovely, intelligent woman, and I'm inspired by her willingness to heal and better herself. She was openly and unapologetically vulnerable, and that's rare these days...Especially in the entertainment industry.
Intelligent? Not wise when you read the book.
Sending her so much love and compassion, you can tell she has a pure heart 💖 what a gift to the world 💖
I have always adore Minka Kelly! Listening to her in this interview you can tell her she’s done so much work on herself, and I couldn’t be prouder as her fan. I can’t wait to read this book and melts my heart just to see that she’s in such a good place.🥰❤️
Minka is so real poised and incredibly beautiful. She’s very classy. I love her voice it soothes me 😊 I’m excited to read her book!🎉❤
"In the most humiliating moments we grow the most" - that can be quite true!
Omg. When she said she felt like she had to trick people into knowing she’s not a threat they don’t have to hurt her. Wow I have felt like that and I had a manager one time tell me I see the fire in your eyes there is a beast in there. And that was soo affirming and powerful. Good to know I’m not alone
i love her so much now after seeing this interview and hearing her on the Friday night lights podcast. She has so much depth and wisdom and i can relate to her story so much. Keep on doing amazing, Minka
What a refreshing interview. I have her book on hold at the library and I am so excited to read it.
I loved learning about her. I think she is an amazing actress and just love her candid interview.
Beautiful soul inside and out! Forgiveness is freedom and the mercy with grace she extended to her Mom is true beauty! Not to mention she will affect so much health and healing to others in their difficult relationships through her book and these interviews of honesty! God bless you Minka ❤
Minka is still such a classic beauty(I remembered when Fri Night Lights first aired years ago and she definitely graced our tv screens with her beauty). But I have to admire her as she always tries to improve and better herself. Even when she mentions that she sometimes receives mean comments, she takes it as constructive criticism to improve.
Just stumbled across this, as I’m in a very deep sad pit of grief and darkness.😪😔😢 I recently loss my adopted mom and my late fathers passing anniversary is nearing along with Mother’s Day. So I’ve felt the weight of being parentless, lonesomeness the emptiness, if not the abandonment even more. 💔😢💔 To my own biological mother I don’t even exist it’s a very heavy weight of unbearable grief I feel and carry. I don’t hardly even want to be here, feeling very orphaned, and realizing how hard it is to be here parentless. My phenomenal adopted mom was the mom I never had her birthday also just passed along with the second Easter without her.💔😰l wish she did not have to go, this soon I hate this.💔🌏😥 #GriefHurts Never really heard of Minka but I appreciate her being so open and vulnerable in sharing story.😢❤️🩹😥 #Parentless
I hope things are better for you now 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Wow. This was an amazing interview. She’s really doing the hard work of growing up with someone that’s as complicated as her mom. I sense she has compels ptsd from it.
Thank you so much Minka for sharing your story! It's a beautiful journey you are on and looking forward to getting a copy of your book.
I chanced upon Minka's interviews a day ago on RUclips and I've been watching, re-watching her videos and thinking about my life. I'm on a path of healing too and this genuineness of Minka's heart and rawness of her story is so inspiring. Really appreciate it. ❤
I love Minka and hearing this made me tear up a bit bc she seems to carry light all the time, everytime I see her in instagram she feels so free. Way to go, lovely woman. Healing is beautiful.
Wow, she's just lovely. Love her voice and how she views life. Hoping she finds her special person soon and gets to have the family she desires.
She is over 40 and still dating guys that will not marry her.
Love you Minka! Thank you for telling your truth! I've always loved you. You are a beautiful woman inside and out.❤❤❤❤
I dont know why but I like her. I think she is pretty. And now I respect her struggles. She fought and made a name for herself. Best wishes to her.
Wow! I had no idea about Minka’s story. She seems like such a respectful and resentful woman. Not to mention just absolutely stunning. Minka you’re an amazing woman ❤
I've always been a great admirer of Minka Kelly. She's sensitive, smart, extremely talented. The woman she's becoming is amazing. She's honest and vulnerable. Her acting is evolving with her discover of her human powers. She's really marvelous.
Yeah I'd date her too
Love her. Always loved her for her talent and beauty and to know she had this experience makes her so much more beautiful. Her words on humiliation is so deeply impactful.
She’s on my shortlist for one of the most Underrated Actresses currently!
What an interesting interview, Minka is on the right track to healing her trauma. Bless her...
Cool interview! Really enjoyed it! 🤙✌💖🎶🎵😉😁
Her book does a beautiful job at reviewing her childhood, forgiving those who wronged her and taking accountability for her future happiness. I think the culture (especially celebrity culture) celebrates victimhood, so it would've been easy for her to throw everyone else under the bus.
I adore Minka! Can't wait to read her book!
you go into denial, because if they die, i die. that's so true.
my mom was chaos growing up too. and is still till this day still chaos in a lot of ways. i love her a lot, i dislike her a lot. my dad was my rock. and he just died. and i was in such denial and i suffer a lot now. now i only have my chaotic mother left and it's hard to accept that fact.
I will definitely check out this book. It really means a lot that women like Minka, can share such stories. 💕
My sincerest condolences to you, @Zabina, on the loss of your beloved dad.💔 I feel you in the “suffering part” along with how you expressed your dad being your rock. I thank you for sharing a little openly. My beloved adopted mom was mine, whom sadly has recently a year ago passed.😪😔😥 Now parentless, having also loss my biological dad, I feel the deep sadness, painful sorrow and loss without any loving parent to talk to. Or have to love on me, and I on them, I feel very orphaned, the biological mother who abandoned me I don’t even exist to still till this day. It hurts and is heavy, every thing feels shattered in this thick layer of grief and lonesomeness of not isolation I feel. 😪😔😥 I don’t feel like I want to or belong here most often lately, my adopted mom was the mother I never hard…😥😞😢 #GriefHurts #Parentless💔🥀💔
So beautiful internally and outside ❤
You are one of my favorite actresses. Loved you in Friday Night Lights. You are so beautiful and your voice just melts my heart. Thanks for sharing and staying strong. Therapy helps so much and you see blessed. I wish I was able to share my story with you because I can sympathize. We have lots in common. You are an inspiration to many people. Love ya 💯🤗😘
When Minka Kelly has blonde hair like she did in Titans she looks alot like Gwen Stephanie. They could play sisters in a movie for sure.
she's an old classmate from H.S. I remember her as that 16yo girl trying to navigate life. Listening to her, she's grown so much but she is also still that 16yo I remember from school.
Somehow I thought the same. I can almost hear and see that little girl inside. Her eyes carry all the pain and neglect she has navigated. But she is also so wise and incredibly mature.
Definitely will be reading her memoir
I adore her and am so proud of her. Can’t wait to read her book!
Same!😊💕
She is angelic ❤ love her aura
She is not an incarnated angel. Please stop calling everyone “angelic.” There are only a handful of incarnated angels on the earth at this time, and she is not one of them. Stop using the term angelic, or angel, so loosely. Angels are of high rank and rarely incarnate. So just stop.
@@deak4032 From the Oxford dictionary: Angelic: (of a person) exceptionally beautiful, innocent, or kind". Someone who's beautiful, calm and simply kind may be called angelic.
@@carolinarolingson4411 thank you Carolina! This is exactly what I mean ❤️💕
@@deak4032 I will not stop😊 but I respect your opinion.
An amazing interview. She has come a long way and will be just fine.
She looks like an angel…❤
Her story 😭😭🥺❤️
Her book is so inspiring!! Such a great writer. 💛
She is absolutely lovely. Hats off to her, and all other people, who face their trauma, become better, and learn from their mistakes. I wish the rest of her years are full of absolute joy, peace, and fulfillment.
Minka Kelly and Kristin Davis should play sisters in a movie and/or TV show...they look so much alike!
Yesss! Two brilliant actresses, too.
I love how she swanned up and never changed her voice.
One of the most gorgeous women ever, she’s unreal.
I didn’t know has she had this month depth of soul, and richness of character. She’s a solid person. Cool.
She'll always be my childhood crush, special place in my heart ♥
What a beautiful and elegant young woman. Inside and out and great self awareness. She is going to be great!
Keep shining, beautiful! 🤗✌️💜🙏✨️
Such a lovely young woman. I'll be reading her book. 🙂
What an amazing brave, beautiful, soul.
I always thought her and Chris Evans would be married since they were on and off for so long. It’s nice to hear her talk about how her childhood affected her relationships.
I have always loved Minka❤
She’s so stunning.
Lyla Garrity rules!! Minka was excellent on FNL. I just finished watching all the seasons on Netflix. Too bad there wasn't a 6th season. I miss it.
Minka is one beautiful hottie. I wish her all the best.
Love her comments
Reminds me of Brooke Shields' story. It is so hard for kids to be the responsible one and have the weight of their parents addictions on them.😢
Very well spoken life experience, good luck.
What a smart lady
Why was she asked if she wants to get married or have kids? So odd. I thought we had moved on from asking women those types of questions.
Why
Exactly what I was thinking. Men are never asked these incredibly stupid, basic, irrelevant questions.
What a beauty, both inside and out. First saw her in Parenthood. I can see why she and Trevor Noah were together, both had traumatic childhoods that resulted in them being deeply compassionate, intelligent and humble people.
Love you Minka kelly
Always liked her 😊
A beautiful real human ❤
I read her Memoir. I thought it was great!
That’s one beautiful woman - both on the outside and inside
Minka is the most beautiful, elegant, and strong woman. Her book was so moving, probably the best book I have read in years. I wish her the most happiness in the world
No.
It's sad bc you can see she's trying hard not to cry
childhood is pretty much everything, who you make friends with, who you date, who you lean towards.
What an incredible woman inside and out. I wish I was 10 years older, lol!
Hollywood had shunned her because she wasn't as beautiful as other actresses. WTH? She's so freaking pretty.
Being pretty isn’t enough
this explains a lot
Hello Meghan Kelly, what are you doing these day you are a beautiful lady we need to see more of you ❤
Her Mom seems great
I saw her in Beverly Hills...she is beautiful
shes gorgeous
This might be superficial, but I found out Minka is left-handed and I instantly feel a kinship with her. Read the first chapter and it's quickly the best book I've read this year
She was absolutely gorgeous when she was in her 20's.
She looks practically the same…
Lovely
I love u girl
Lovely Aura. So feminine ❤
Where has Minka been. Haven’t seen her on TV for a while.
❤️❤️❤️
Damn, Garrity 😢
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can’t believe she’s 42 years old. She looks younger.
Most attractive woman in hollywood
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Damn she is good.
Minka: I'd love to be a mother
Me: I volunteer as tribute
She's 43 lmao
@@joesalad69 We can still try
Nice.. people...
She makes it look easy, but this is difficult to do.
The candor and vulnerability is incredible. I truly hope she feels empowered and finally at peace. She deserves it all.
Minka Kelly as a woman you will find some romance in your life ✨ 💛 to look and feel good better about your own to kiss some won how will treat you like a princess to make your body feel strong 💪 💖 inside your self now with this pendmek out there in a lot city's dating or just enjoying yourself
Very rich interview, wishing her only good things...
Still good looking at 43!
she looks alot like Leighton Meester
And they have a similar upbringing. I believe leighton was born in a prison because her mother was incarcerated
@@prima-madalina yeah she was. they are both amazing actors
To me, Leighton and Minka are both classic beauties.
They were in the same movie together…The roommate
Very impressed with her honesty and willingness to be vulnerable. By the way, I'm a gay man who believes in reincarnation. When I come back, I hope I'm a beautiful woman as her. Wow, she's so beautiful. It'll be my luck when I come back as a gorgeous woman, I'll be lesbian. 😂
She sounds a lot like J lo. I’ve never heard her speak before.
Is that her real voice ?
