Wow!...........Brilliant idea! These leaf skeletons are perfect for Fairy wings if you want to be more artistic with a leaf 'collage' type picture!! Hugs xx
What a wonderful and informative video ... Your calm presentation, excellent instructions and nice photography were so enjoyable. I also loved the elegance of the framed displays. I am going to try this out! Thanks so much for creating and sharing this tutorial.
@@dsepisodes so far for me, most common monstera do not, philodendron of all varieties I’ve tried to not, aristolochia leuconeura does but there is a tiny window between ready to go and melty.
Merci beaucoup pour la vidéo! J'ai trouvé un nouveau passe temps chronophage 😂 Et je saurais maintenant quoi faire des feuilles que je devrait couper. Alors ce geste me semblera moins douloureux. Are you using hot water? 🤔 And, a sponge make the job?
Nice video! I use a bit of running water and a toothbrush to tap it .. to get the debris off, it also works very well. Regales indeed take forever and disintegrate veins too fast ... queens are the easiest in my opinion .. soak em long enough and they come out almost clean!
First, You answered my big question I'll find a paint brush thank you thank you. Seen some and they were using Toothbrushes, your way makes more sense. I am going to photograph them. and they fa senate me. So, now I'll be able to get up close and personal with them. Once again thank you for your great presentation!!
Do you think I can do this with Sunflower leaves? My grandma would absolutely love this if she were still here. She would take me on walks before dinner and let me pick some plants, which we would bring into the garage and spray paint in silver or gold. We'd let them dry and while she was finishing dinner I'd get to arrange our art as a centerpiece for the dining room table 🥰
Thank you for the warning about Alocasias, i tried it and it failed. I am now having a Tandurusa leaf in water and i won't waste my time anymore on it :)
Depends on your conditions and leaves: higher temperatures = less time; thicker leaves =longer. I'd say 2 weeks is the minimum (but I do them form 1mo+) and then I try gently scrubbing off the tissue from the levaes. If it easily comes off, it's most likely ready

Excuse me but at 1:09 she actually said that the leaves were soaking in water. So I don't know what's your problem 😅 the leaves where soaking a month 👌
To the resuce hahah thank you! Its one of those things which depends on your conditions and leaves that you were soaking. Higher temps = done sooner; thicker leaves = soaking longer etc.
I watched this video ages ago, and was bothered about a word you used whilst you captioned you shaking the spray paint. I didn’t say anything, because I felt it would cause more issues than it’s worth. I since forgot about this video. Found it again because I want to make a skeleton leaf out of my Clarinervium, and remembered that I didn’t like the word you use. Please don’t use the word “retarded” it’s such a derogatory word for people with disabilities. Even though you didn’t call anyone it, it ruined this video a bit for me. It bothered me because I have autism and have been called such a horrid word before. I just hate the word, anytime anyone says it, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth so to speak.
Well I'm sorry that you were offended by my humour, which really wasn't directed at you or anyone specifically. It's the internet, people will get offended by anything.

So glad that you enjoyed it 🥰🫶🏻 one of my favorite crafty projects thus far
I'.ve watched several videos on this process. This was the best one! Thanks!
Perfect job,. thank you for sharing,. You are using not only the wood plant but also the non-wood plant.., seems you use the Anthurium's leaves
Yes Anthurium leaves were used :)
Regale takes forever!!!! I sped the process up with baking soda mixed with water. Alocasia and Philodendron melt and turn to mush and tear.
So only anturiums work?

@@thebeauceronboys9397 So only anthuriums 😂 thank you
@@dsepisodes pretty much so far and wild leaves of random plants 😅
Heard of this trick and was thinking of giving it a go. How long do you leave em soaking afetr you add the soda?
Perfect and excellent job, thank you for sharing.❤
Glad you liked it :)
Those turned out lovely

And, a sponge make the job?
cool water and a paint brush
Are they just soaking in plain water?!
Yes :)
i feel like this would be a great idea for something like a phone case if you had an appropriately sized leaf
Uuuuu that'd be awesome! :D

Awesome! I always felt that the running water was too harsh.... Yep anmd crystals as well! Mag's tend to have thicker leaves as well.
Did you put them just in water or adding some in water, please?
@@senkabobovcan2356 I use just tapwater and an old (clean) kitty litter tray so it's long enough for most leaves

Good luck, hopefully you got some nice skeletons :D It's addicting once you get going!
How long do you need to soak the leaves and what was the spray you used ?
I think the spray was just gold spray paint? I’m wondering the same thing about how long to soak them tho
Honestly the soaking is quite long process (1 month at least) and for the spray I got basic gold spray.

This is remarkable! How long does it take to take one of the leaves to break down?
I found out it depends. Ofc smaller ones are faster, but some thicker leaves (magnificum etc) can take longer. I guess 1-2months
Did you boiled it with baking soda?
Wonderful! Very good video. You showed exactly the information, thank you.
Glad that it helped!
Hey thanks for sharing. May I know what is this black sheet that you used in your frame?
I've used some self adhesive foil I got at Bauhaus :)
Thank you for the warning about Alocasias, i tried it and it failed. I am now having a Tandurusa leaf in water and i won't waste my time anymore on it :)
There could be a way around it, but IMHO not with this exact method!
how we knwo that the leaf is ready for removing tissue?
I usually try to gently remove the tissue by hand (rubbing the fingers together). If the tissue is coming off, it’s usually good to go 😊
Você merece muitos likes 🎉 que delicadesa . Você poderia me enviar o nome desas folhas que você usou quero tentar obrigada por compartilhar ❤❤❤❤❤
have you used yellow anthurium leaves to make skeleton?
Can be done as long as they are not dried and still have some "juice" in them
What kind of paper did you use as the background?
I found some adhesive paper with matt finish :) From Bauhaus I believe
Nice
I have done some peepal leaf skeletons....thank you..from India..

Which leaf you used plzzzzzzzz reply.... thank you
I used velvety anthurium leaves, they work the best!

Have you tried monstera deliciosa leaf?
I did .. didn't work .. but give it a try, might work for you?
Been meaning too, but since it didn't work with melanochrysum I suspected the outcome would be the same. Might still try it tho!

I'm sorry but I don't speak Spanish so I won't be able to any videos in it :(
Girl now im gonna be choping all my leaf for my empty wall lol
Lolol only the yellow ones!
thanks.
Welcome!
How did you attach the leaf to the paper?
Honestly I didnt, you could probably use super glue or smth. The frame holds the leaf together in place with just enough pressure.
@@adansoniia How neat! Thanks for sharing.

Not informative at all idk what all these comments are talking about. Didn’t say what it’s soaking in or for how long.
