    This process is called "Retting" and it was traditionally used as a method by some native cultures to get strong plant fibers out of thick stubborn plants not easily processed by hand (such as hemp or yucca) for making natural cordage (rope using the reverse wrap method in case anyone wants to youtu e it and learn it).
    Making natural (and not so natural. Like plastic bag) cordage is an amazingly useful skill i feel everyone should know ^_^

    For a large scale production over 3 bags of leaves, retting peepal leaves in a large bucket of water and mud in 3:2 ratio and stirring it every 3 days is easier and quicker. Takes less than 15days and no need to brush, just rinse, leave it to dry in the air to remove the odour.
    I make greeting cards and notes with this technique for my friends and they love them.

    I remember my Mum telling me of a friend she knew that had a skeleton leaf that had been dipped in gold or gold leaf (I can't remember). I think that would be a really cool project to do with these!

    • @mariasartistry
      @mariasartistry  3 года назад +3

      Yes, you can gold leaf the skeleton leaves and then dip them in epoxy resin to create beautiful jewelry pieces or decoration items.
      You can also spray paint them in gold. So, there are many options 🙂
