Life has some very peculiar twists and turns when you break it down, what were the odds of this song ever coming to light? Amazing story of how circumstances and a fantastic singer like Terri Nunn made this all come together
Fun fact: Paul young who sang the 1985 US hit “Every Time You Go Away” was offered the song “Take My Breath Away”, but turned down the song on such short notice!
Wow. Terri Nunn hadn't had sex in 4 years and that's what informed her original performance. Probably a lot of guys at the time would have been happy to help her out.
Easy choice for that song. Did you listen to Martha’s voice sing the lyric “Take my breath away?” Martha couldn’t stretch it out at all like Terri did in her nice smooth vocal singing. Martha’s voice is too scratchy for that song.
This is great documentary and so grateful for it. I will add that Berlin begun with Terri Nunn in 1979, she left to act before their debut album was recorded, but ultimately came back after a year or so & then they released Sex, I’m a etc... as told here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin_(band) But I understand why that part is simplified somewhat. Thanks again for shedding light on that wonderful song & brilliant band!
One of thee greatest songs ever...and in pop culture and movies, and of the 80s. Great story on how it all came together. as a kid I always thought they (Berlin) wrote it, and the movies producers asked for it, put it in movie soundtrack and band got paid heavily, and overexposed which cause them to fade away/break up.
She was so damn pretty! I remember watching the video and having a hard time getting how pretty she was, a girl that pretty you never find it working, just modeling.
Obrigado Martha Davis por ter gravado a versão original dessa música, ficou fantástica. A versão do Berlin é praticamente a mesma coisa com um pouco mais de emoção
The Navy had recruiting set ups at movie theaters, these doc movie guys got it incorrect. I remember quite well. I come from an Air Force family and we laughed because, good luck trying to be a pilot, boys! The program is nearly impossible to get into so have fun being out at sea on a WESTPAC cruise for 7 months. Good times
She was striking gorgeous! and singing that song! Oh my God!
Berlin were far far more than just Take my Breath away! Almost every track on Count Three + Pray are top 10 hits for me!🤩♥️♥️👍
I remember Berlin when I was a kid.

wow. Martha or Terri. Tough choice. Both are fantastic.

Terri was completely angelic in her rendition! No one could touch her-- not even Jessica Simpson in 2003(?)!!!!!!!!

The song for the Millennium
Muy buenita musica
5x the usual number of USAF recruits is weird when it's a film about the Navy.

What language is the host speaking? I can't fully understand it.
😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
it was a gift from Moroder
His name is Giovanni Giorgio, but everybody calls him Giorgio :)
Who agrees that Teri Nunn got hotter as she got older.

I like Martha Davis's original demo version more so than Berlin's version
