One must follow the simple installation instructions. The lighting effect is spectacular after some thought about placement. A minor issue was cheerfully and immediately remedied by a very excellent customer service. It is refreshing to know that a company is so attentive to its customers, and I recommend Woodland Scenics without reservation. 👍
We're sorry this is your experience. Please contact Customer Service directly at 573-346-5555 regarding this issue. Whenever there are issues out of the norm like this, they are the party that can help :)
I have just purchased this system. I am an electrical engineer and a very picky person, this system is really a great system for layouts and other applications. I am currently illumination 2 roundhouses and a turntable with this system, easy to use and great lighting control.
Glad to hear you are enjoying it! You can always send us pictures through our website, securewoodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/show/information/ContactUs?. We would love to see your layout!
A bit late to the game but this is EXACTLY the system I imagined when I wanted to add lights to my scenes for stop motion videos. The system works brilliantly and at a scale which fits. I'll be testing, practicing and using them in the future. Superb product.
Awesome! Be sure to send a picture to marketing@woodlandscenics.com when you're done. We love to see how our products are used in different forms of modeling.
I'm starting small, the helper division im modeling on my 1st module is a phone shanty and outhouse. one dimmed stick on light in the shanty one gooseneck light above the door.
Can you splice the wires of multiple LED's together to run them through a single port? I have a few buildings with multiple floors that need 3-4 LED's each but don't really want to use 4 ports for just one building.
Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go and see what happens. I was curious as you guys wire together three street lights in to one plug in your street lights video.
Our Just Plug Nano and Stick On Lights were designed for one LED light per Light Hub port. The Just Plug Street Lights, Wall Mount Lights and Vehicles were designed so that the number of lights or the one vehicle in each package can be connected to the one included Linker Plug.
Just curious if I use my 12v 19 amp power supply if I could plug more than 3 20milliamp LEDs into 1 hub if it would be safe to use as long as all my LEDs had resistors on them
How many single light street lamps can you put on one plug/port? What limitations need to be considered before implementing the Just Plug system? At what point would I need to buy the expansion unit(s)? Thanks!
1. Our Street Light sets (i.e. 2 lights in one package) fit in one port. 2. If you have a specific lighting effect in mind, we can let you know whether or not Just Plug can create the effect. If it is possible, we will provide instruction on how to achieve it. 3. One Light Hub is designed to power 4 individual Pre-Lit items. When you are beyond that, you can purchase a Port Sharing Device. One Port Sharing Device plugs into a Light Hub Port creating four new light ports. This allows you to power 16 Pre-Lit items from one Light Hub. When you are beyond that, you can purchase an Expansion Hub. Four Light Hubs plug into an Expansion Hub.
The LED bulb has a wire that leads to the plug. I assume there's a set length of wire (aka wire harness) that it comes in. What if need to run an LED, say 20-feet away from the plug in module?
Why are the screw holes on the hubs and expansion hubs way too small for the supplied screws? I tried screwing it to my layout and applied some pressure as the screw was going nowhere. Then I heard cracking and stopped. I checked all the hubs I have and I see the same issue on all of them.
Greetings! There shouldn't be any cracking of the product when you're using the screws. Please contact our Consumer Service department (link below) and they will be happy to help you. woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/show/information/ContactUs
Our Just Plug Lighting System does offer a 240VAC Power Supply for Australia/New Zealand. Hopefully this will work for you. Here are the specifications for that Power Supply: POWER SUPPLY AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND (JP5773) Type I INPUT: 240VAC, 50Hz OUTPUT: 24VDC, 1000mA
Kinzer Hurt Hello Kinzer - Typically LEDs are quoted with a lifespan of more than 50,000 hours of continual use. We can't say exactly how long our particular LED lights will burn, as we haven't had one burn out yet in testing. However, we can tell you that LED lights have an extremely long lifespan, especially when compared to incandescent and florescent bulbs, and they will stay nice and bright. When they do reach the end of their lifespan, they will begin to grow dimmer. I hope this is helpful.
The Just Plug Nano and Stick-On Lights come with an attached linker plug and are not manufactured to be removed from the linker plug. The wires on the Street & Wall Mount lights do not come attached to a linker plug, you have to insert the Street & Wall Mount light wires into the Linker Plug included in the package.
Robert Denton Hello Robert! How fun...we learned our King's English word for the day...had to Google boffin! Love it! Unfortunately, spare individual components of Just Plug are not available, however the Just Plug Lighting System is available in the UK. You can contact Bachmann Europe PLC to find a dealer near you. Here is their website. www.bachmann.co.uk/ Hope this is helpful, Robert...and Happy Modeling!
Model railways Hello! You will need a Power Supply (JP5770), 4 Light Hubs (JP5700) and 8 packages of Lights and 1 Expansion Hub (JP5702).If you want Warm White Stick-On Lights, you could purchase a Power Supply, 4 Lights & Hub Sets (JP5701) + 2 packages of Stick-On or Nano Lights of your choice (16 to choose from) and 1 Expansion Hub. And, If you prefer to use your train power pack to power your lights instead of the Power Supply, you will need the Connecting Cables (JP5760) to connect your power pack to the Expansion Hub. Hope this helps!
We thoroughly test our products for their intended use. Since our Just Plug® Lighting System was designed for Just Plug Lighting accessories only, we do not recommend using anything other than our system with our Just Plug Light Hub.
ty for using shrink tube. i also think you should offer 8 or 10 pin hubs instead of just 4. people are going to end up with 20 of them easily, not cool
***** i appreciate the response, i love giving feedback on products and actually having it make a difference in the world. thanks for being such a great company for SO many years. and to reiterate on my original comment, i would definitely go with 10 pin hubs and not 8. also, i noticed you used 2 pin connectors like computer pc fan headers do. by doing so you've now enabled to yourself to make the LED's themselves modular. you could make LED's swapable with different colors, not at the hub itself, but where the end of the wire IS.
***** Thanks MIke, I will send your additional comments on to Product Development for consideration. We appreciate the feedback. We like to hear from our customers about our products and what they think we can do to make them better. And, we appreciate you taking the time to put in your 2 cents! :-)
If you need more, you can try our Port Sharing Device. You can use it to plug in up to four LED Lights per a single port. woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/show/Item/JP5681/page/1
+LNERMALLARD4468 Gaming & Model Rail Roading - Two of the Nano Lights come as flashing lights - Yellow Flashing (JP5754) and Red Flashing (JP5755). The other available Nano and Stick-On Lights do not flash. Hope this helps, and thanks for your interest!
john hemple Hello John. I will send your request to our Product Development department. That may be something they would be interested in doing in the future with regard to expanding the Just Plug video. Thanks for your suggestion.
Tyler Juszczyk Yes, Tyler. Every hobby shop that ordered the system should have it in stock. Several online hobby shops are offering it as well. You can purchase most items through our website, however you will pay full retail and shipping, making it a much better deal to purchase it elsewhere! Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply Justin I'm a beginner bought loads of street lights and hub's wish me luck cheers mate
are the two cables from the lights able to be soldered onto other lights
Can I connect lighting hubs with other lighting hub via the dimmer ports?
I'm starting small, the helper division im modeling on my 1st module is a phone shanty and outhouse. one dimmed stick on light in the shanty one gooseneck light above the door.

Hello! The Just Plug system is designed for one Just Plug LED light per Light Hub port. We cannot guarantee the results if using it differently.
Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go and see what happens. I was curious as you guys wire together three street lights in to one plug in your street lights video.

This is not something we have tested, but we do not recommend altering the Just Plug® Lighting System.
I'm using a 10amp NEC DCC system running at 12Volts, can I use track power to power the hubs?
It will provide power at 12 volts, but the lights will be dimmer.

For those of use with really large layouts, is it possible to extend the prewired harness length?
Could you clarify what you mean by "prewired harness"?
The LED bulb has a wire that leads to the plug. I assume there's a set length of wire (aka wire harness) that it comes in. What if need to run an LED, say 20-feet away from the plug in module?

Are they available for the UK market, and are the mini white plugs & LED 'pods' available as spares for the electronics boffins, please?

Show me drilling holes thru “base” of layout to inside buildings, and more complicated installations.
I'll pass that along to our Video Production Team for consideration.
Thanks, I look forward to seeing a future episode on it.
