Watched this yesterday for my birthday, what a amazing film!, worth every penny... Don't want to miss this one in cinema/movies because the sound effects are so loud and good that you feel like your in the movie, also watch it in 3D it makes it 10x better! ps. Take a tissue or a box because some parts are very emotional but it's a great film and story line!

Well I live in San Francisco and let me tell you seeing that tsunami approach the Golden Gate Bridge was so hard for me. I was bored and raised in this city. When you live here in San Francisco you feel at least one 2.0-3.0 earthquake a month and occasionally bigger. Yes I will go see this movie but I will be as scared as shit. They were filming this movie a few blocks from my house actually.

There is no vertical change of the Pacific plate, thus an earthquake along the San Andreas fault would not cause a tsunami. Tectonic plates have a relative direction of motion. Therefore there are convergent, divergent, and transform plate boundaries. Convergent boundaries create zones of subduction which can generate the vertical disturbance needed to generate a tsunami. Warner Bros. Pictures needs to learn a little more science before they make people actually think that the San Andreas fault might cause a tsunami in LA....there are plenty of other fault lines which have subduction zones that can cause a tsunami to hit LA... but not the San Andreas.
