Thanks for the content. As for me...I will always be a Toyota man until other companies can produce vehicles that guarantee no less than 250,000 miles of use so the 50k cost seems nothing unlike most of these other vehicles that are not so great after 125k and rarely last 250k without a requirement of a full engine rebuild to surpass that mile mark. And yes I am willing to admit when they are running some US Diesel engines are great but I highly doubt you can travel 250k miles of daily driving and weekend overlanding plus extended trips during camping season and they only need the oil changed and rinsed off like a Toyota.
Totally agree I had been subscribed to his channel cause of his 4runner, plenty of other overlanding and off road channels to follow. He has great content and quality but my interest was more so in his rig so soon as he sold the 4Runner I unsubscribed and haven’t really been back to his channel but glad he enjoys his new rig and having fun with it. That’s one expensive ass truck right there along with all the mods
That's my favorite area to explore. I did that "difficult" part in my stock Ranger and threw a couple of wheels up, but it was fun. Pretty sure that spot you were camping is my go-to spot, but I didn't get a good enough look at it.
Jason, What are you thoughts about 40" tires for a cross country drive? I am retired and plan every year to drive from Vriginia to the west coast and spending 6 months overlanding in California, Nevada and Utah and then returning to the east coast. AEV is recommending a Prospector with 37" tires because of the extensive highway drive time and more extensive line of tires and the lower cost for the 37" size. Do you have any thoughts? I really want the 40" tire size for the reasons you point out in this video.
I've been following Chris for a long time and love his channel. I constantly think that these channels should have more subscribers, but I also notice that their video views closely match their subscriber count. In essence, their growth is very pure. They don't have millions of subscribers that don't watch the content.
I live in Arizona and know so many people that have done this trail in mildy modded 4Runners let alone your old stage 7. I think it all comes down to the driver
Love the Skycamp. Recently tried the Airflow summer tent but the zippers didn’t line up. I think they sent me the 1.0 and the zippers for the 2.0 are different. Customer service said they’re working on it, will let you know how that turns out. Hope you are well, hang in there!
Closing the loop on this comment. I've been working with Aaron at iKamper for past few weeks. He's been awesome and I received a replacement summer tent within 3 weeks, which is pretty good in the middle of the pandemic! Apparently, I'm the first one to get a summer tent in the US. Cool. I'm not too impressed with the tent itself so far, but I want to test it out more (once we get the thing out of our driveway) before giving a final verdict.
Hey Jason, how is the rear end set up on the RAM? Do you have a locker setup, or are you utilizing the factory “anti-spin” differential? I’ve been looking for a locker that’s not ARB, I prefer either manual or electric. I know Auburn and Detroit have the “Torsen” helical style anti spin, but prefer a true electric locker. What are you planning or have done?
Oh man..!! That’s my go to camping spot! Dude you got access to some real locals only camping and wheeling spots.. I need to have a talk with Kevin and Keith..! Lol. 😜
Is there a way to tell the stops to not drop down when you open the door? I know it’s a yuuuge comfort / convenience / and even aesthetic benefit but seems like a big ol off-road liability. I know you mentioned before you weren’t sold on the drop down steps.
I love them. They come down enough to make entry easy and they tuck way up behind the rocker panel. I’m sure they could be disabled. Just not sure how.
Hey Jason, thanks for posting. I've always wondered why you don't fly to Florida and rent a car or use a company car while you're down there. You can't like driving that much. Stay safe, stay healthy. ✌
Honest question, why doesn’t your wife come along for any of these trips? I’m trying to convince my girlfriend to come out with me and she doesn’t seem interested at all.
Jason, I know you don't have control over what ads play and I'm letting them play because Google has money and the working class doesn't right now. But, my God the scammer ads (playing on all channels) are getting bad. At least I know that 5 minute ads probably aren't cheap and that you are getting the money.
@@SwellRunner Yeah, I know. But, If you ever get to the point where RUclips actually contacts and actively seeks your input (Linus Tech Tips has spoke about RUclips doing this with him), could you ask them to work on minimizing the scam get rich quick ads. Also, stay healthy and sane in these trying times. You have great content. It is a different flavor than some of the other off road/overland channels I watch and variety is the spice of life.
Those KM3s and AEV wheels completely transform the truck. Looks great!
LOL. That truck was practically yawning going down that trail. Easy peasy.
is that his son? I'm old school if my kids calls me by my name one day Imma start charging them rent. :)
lol same!!
A smack on the head fixes that lol
Need rules in a household. 😂
Not impressed with the behavior of his kids (they're in several other vids). They're rude and disrespectful.
@@up2top I've never seen them be rude or disrespectful. Actually the total opposite.

You talk too damn much!
I have a 2020 Raptor but had I known this beast existed, I don’t think I would currently own a Raptor.

To much of you running your mouth in front of the camera. We want to see your gear and where you are not your face
Thank you! That's one of the reasons I unsubscribe from this channel, and his kids are "diffrent".
Awesome video Jason 🤙

Call me crazy but if it isnt a Toyota I don't even bother.
Taking a Chrysler off road is definitely living on the edge. :D
Chris from Venture 4wd is one of my favorite you tubers. .
Me too

Wait did I miss something. Did you sell your 4 runner.?
Unfortunately
Gettin a meth or too much coffee vibe
I think Chris’s channel is pronounced “Venture forward”
Venture4wd
Misterrc L no I know that’s how it’s spelled, I’m saying he pronounces it “venture forward”, play on words
That would have made some awesome drone footage! Glad you are editing with all this down time.
Nice trip Jason looking fwd to more of your adventures after this COVID-19 is over I'll stay tuned. :)
If you can't dodge it.._______!!
And yes this is an amazing build Jason and I know it will serve you well!!!
I’m interested in what psi you were running all around. TIA
Teenagers are all the same 😞
Thanks for the awesome video.
Look up the Ultimate Adventure by Peterson’s 4Wheel and Offroad. Those are the real Ultimate Adventure trucks.
Your kid is hilarious.
Any worries with people stealing gear out of the truck bed? How do you secure it from theft or the elements?
Another great video Jason!
Thanks man!!
New tires and wrap delete looking good

What are the name of your tires?
So does RAM sell the ProspectorXLs, like Chevy sells the ZR-2 AEV Bison's? Or do you buy them directly from AEV?
Great video btw.. !

Ahhh....BFG!
Love the rig Jason.. Do you usually use all those (white/water) Rotopaxs ?
Thought you had other tyres than BFG's? maybe I gave missed something in these days of not looking at a watch or calendar!!!
Hey Jason, thoughts on the KM3’s? And how many miles do you have on them? Thanks!
How do those KM3's perform on the road in snow and ice?
Did I miss when you swapped the wheels?

I do like driving that much! But that trip was unusual - I didn’t know how long I would be there. I usually do just fly in.
Honest question, why doesn’t your wife come along for any of these trips? I’m trying to convince my girlfriend to come out with me and she doesn’t seem interested at all.

Does your truck have leaf springs or coils?
coils.

Thanks Jason. I needed this video. I had to skip your last one. But this made me feel better.
Awesome 👏
Jason, how does that big diesel do on steep mountain grades, such as I-70 through the Rockies? Especially compared to your 4Runner?
More powerful engine and more comfortable than the 4Runner. So, it does great.
Insanely great.
Better then any gas motor.
😎
Ik it's a little weird of me asking, but what brand is that coat your'e wearing? I really like it.
pretty sure that's a Fjallraven jacket.
Correct.
Fjallraven - love their stuff. It’s pricey, but it lasts a loooooong time
@@SwellRunner Sounds good, thank you.
His daughter seem rude as hell... no way my kids wold behave tht way...
Get rid of that diff cover does no good..
So disappointed to see you and another 'Tuber trade your 4Runners for Dodge Rams. Seems like a horrible trade-off in reliability and capability.
