Thumbs up for the heated steering wheel comment. Wasn't something that I was looking for in a truck but the Ram liked had it but didn't think I would really use it but he is right, you don't know what you were missing until you have it. Must have for every truck I am going to own in the future.
Sweet rig! I like seeing these full sizer's being modded. They are so tough right from the factory you dont need to do anything to the drive train. Thanks for sharing!
Very big appreciation of both of you and you parts and videos Really like what you did with the ram I have one to I’m building now and love it on 36’’ tires. Wish I wasn’t so hard to get parts from WA
Really looking forward to see the long term reliability of the Ram vs the Landcruiser. A Ram 2500 diesel gets about the same gas mileage as my 4Runner 🤣
I have 35s on my Ram and no lift..I know you have done lots of research .. Have you considered the AEV lift.. Keeps stock springs and driveability.. I do like your fender flares.. They look tuffer than my well hated bushwackers.. And the storage you've added is awesome.
The 6.7 in the US usually come with 3.73 gears. Also the Ram Power Wagon E-Lockers should fit in if you have the AAM 11.5 and AAM 9.25. Biggest issue you are going to have with the 6.7 is a blow turbo around 200,000km unless you de-tune it.
Amazing video! I sometimes wonder if I should have gone with the 2500 over the 1500 for overlanding, what a beautiful vehicle that is! How many years until you release something with the new body style? hehe
Cummins will put the Ram on top of toyota in Australia in no time. When it comes to reliability and dependability Ram/Cummins wins hands down.. I was a toyota guy until when in 2006 I got my Ram 2500 5.9 IL Turbo diese and today after 200,000 miles and 13 reliable years I am a hardcore cummins/Ram guy. I also own a 1979 Ford Bronco with a 400 cid but Ram/Cummins rules.
The engine is only one component of a vehicle. Cummins has never been the issue with RAM. The problem with RAM and pretty much all FCA products is their heavy reliance on electronics and poor build quality. FCA tries to pack every single little electronic doodad, option, assistance into their vehicles and trucks that that is typically what fails first and most often. RAM/FCA rates last in reliability for a reason and it is not the Cummins. RAM makes big, beautiful, and capable trucks for sure but don't be so quick to fall in love with all the superficial crap. Nice sexy build but if I can't trust a RAM truck in the US then I sure as hell ain't trusting it out in Australia.
@@Gazziza29 Saying Ram trucks as a whole are unreliable is completely baseless and false. Them and Jeeps being last place reliability has been thoroughly debunked. My last 1500 made it 225,000 rough miles without a single trip to the shop. No electronic issues either. The full size truck segment is too competitive to have crappy components. In my circles the Ford's have the most trouble, and I have witnessed brand new F250's succumb to death wobble and fuel spillage right before my very eyes. Two close friends had 3.5 ecoboosts that needed completely new engines in less than 150,000 miles. Their trucks also had loads of electrical issues all the while my crappy Ram never had any trouble. Point is everyone likes to point fingers at Ram while they sweep Ford and Chevy's issues under the rug. Since 2009 Ram has completely changed for the better.
Just some quick advice even though you guys review the truck and go over it how come you guys don't drive it let's see how it feels that would be a really good part of these videos
@@throughjackscamera4432 I've seen quite unmodded 2500's driving around here in Australia. On the road they are fine, it's just finding a place to park is the issue. Usually you have to park towards the back of parking lots away from other vehicles or you'll have a hell of a time getting out.
@@throughjackscamera4432 Yeah man, it's massive. Most people I've seen that own them run horse ranches and such back in Victoria where I used to live. I'm also originally from the states, just live in Australia now.
@@l2andom i should stop by and say hey after my trek in Nepal next year. I'd love to visit WA, Cape York, and Victoria! A wide range i know, we all dream don't we!
Awesome build! The power is great to have, but I’d much prefer a smaller wheelbase, lighter vehicle, with decades of proven reliability. Toyota for me, but this is cool!
I struggle to see ram being the future dominant vehicle in Australia. A 79 series is considered a large vehicle. A ram although beautiful is just too large to be considered an acceptable 4wd here. Rangers and hiluxes dominate the 4wd industry here
great truck but they'll only see a very small market here in aus cost will see to that 150k+ plus after market mods + running costs rego ($1200 per year an rising in queensland for a v8) + insurance (i'd hate to think) + servicing(parts etc) really it's only for business owners who'll write it off on tax as a business vehicle and a few rich people the "average joe" can only dream an go find a 2nd hand 200/79/76/80 whatever......
Hey, a bit confusing when at the start of the video 0.12 they state "In The Shop" with a back drop of Snow Peaked Mountains; Then inside the shed he said that they are in The Gold Coast (Australia). Is it just me who's confused???
It’s a shame they have to go smaller. In the states you can park trucks like that anywhere even if you take up 2 spots (cops just get it) lol. But seriously I do understand why in Oz they have to bring it down as they were influenced by England (sorry about that it’s a small country hence the creators of the Defender).
oh don't worry cops "get it" over here in aus too "wait right there while i get my fine an defect books and a large pole wrapped with 40grit to ram your arse dry with" you yanks have it much better than you realise......
England small, yes. Australia is actually just as big(landmass) wise as the continental USA. But it’s population is shockingly about the same as Texas.
14 foot gooseneck ,hmmm sorry to nit pick , sounds like what I told you 4 yrs ago 2500 all the way , may want to run a 1500 over the shop 3 ltr V6 diesel . When do you want top pick up my RN F250 for rebuild spec project I’ll go you halves .
Nope...sorry , but to big ,heavy , and unproven in Australia and Australian tracks and conditions . Very nice overall and plenty of grunt but it takes more than that to be as good as Landcruiser, just an opinion obviously and no offence intended . I’m also a big fan of Patriot just by the way , with much respect for Justin and his team .
Thanks for tuning in! This thing was a beast!
ExpeditionOverland Going to buy one as soon as I sell pretty much everything I own 😂
Agree very nice
These full sized rigs are absolutely amazing, definitely goals
Awesome truck!! what a BEHEMOTH!! Well done Patriot mob, you guys rock!
I too have seen this thing in the flesh, Im only 1 lotto win away from getting one lol. Cheers Steve

I want one exactly like this one is built!!!
Wow this guy could sell more RAMs than a typical FCA employee and he’ll do it from the Southern Hemisphere
Love the builds and videos! Keep up the great work!
Now if only we could get 79 series cruisers in america.
Really looking forward to see the long term reliability of the Ram vs the Landcruiser.

Nice to here that Ram is appreciated over a Japanese vehicle.

UnicornR33GTR 17 or 18. Clay did say he’d seen it over a year ago

I think you should stick to 3.0 in. to 4.5 in. suspension lift, a 2.0 in. suspension lift ain't bad but not for the RAM Tourer!!!!!!!!
😮😍

The 2500 comes with a inline 6 cylinder. The 1500 comes with a hemi v8.
Chris Behn Had to give you a thumbs up buddy. Most folks do not know that the Cummins 6.7L is in fact a 6 cylinder diesel.

I think the Ram is better suited to towing based on other reviews I've seen on RUclips. I wouldn't take it off road, other than basic tracks
