TkU for the update on the skull ! IMO, I don't believe anyone should be able to trademark or prevent others from producing stained glass skulls, though ! I'm a Halloween freak, and have all kinds of skulls, and I believe skulls are fair game to create as you please !! Just my thoughts ! TkU !
I just got the skull AND the pumpkin with the same stained glass design. I love them so much. But yes it seems very limited. I believe the pumpkin is a replica of the meyda lighting glass pumpkin.
I doubt it's anything to do with copyright or legal issues. Joann's product is a solid poured resin chunk. Glass Art Stories' product is a hollow leaded glass piece. Completely different products, even if one is a cheap knockoff of the other. Unethical - yeah. Illegal - no. Even if the $700 skull is too much, they have some really cool suncatchers that are within most budgets.
That may be true, it was just a possible reason since everyone was so confused by the skull being so limited and not on the website. Only Joann herself knows the real reason I guess!
a lot of the stuff isn’t on joann’s site. that’s not why it’s not there. i messaged joann and the rest of their halloween stuff will be up throughout the next month.
Found the skull at a Joann in another state, couldn't find it at my local one, so I went to the one that was next best and they had only 2. I of course bought 1. Its so pretty, the only thing is the light, I don't care for it and am thinking about switching it out.
@@CozyCrone I saw at Dollar Tree some sound responsive fairy lights, I'm thinking of switching it with that or something similar, but I like the idea of having music playing and the lights in the skull responding to it.
I agree that it would be a good item for Joanns if they even changed it a little more to make their unique version, but this one is basically an exact copy of a piece of art from a small business. I don’t think it’s out of line to want them not to do that.
Thanks a LOT JOANNE'S! I think somehow Joanne's should give the proceeds of this lamp to the small business and they should make a collaboration where the small business gets 60% of the earnings and Joanne's gets 40%, since this item was clearly going to be a very popular item and f*cked us over.
I knew someone would comment this. I’m not a saint, I already spent the money on the Joann’s one and I don’t have the money to buy the real one. But I think the smaller shop deserves to have their name out there at the VERY least, as everyone was so excited about this design and it seems to have been theirs originally. I am still going to shop at big box stores, but is it too much to also not want them to rip off artists?

Oh interesting, I’ve never even seen the stained glass pumpkin!
Stain glass skulls aren’t new, just coming back again. I wish everyone luck, I hope we all find one!
Dang you are so lucky you got that when you did!

Love the skull… but $700 for the artist version is too steep for my pockets 😭
Isn't Joanne's kinda "knock off expected"? People don't shop there for one of a kind art, right

@@Jess4evermore well that is good to know, thanks!

@@Mira_C13 oh that sounds super fun!
I loved that item so much as well!!!
Joanne do better? No way, this Halloween item is right in their wheel house. Deep breaths.

I’m very curious to see if JoAnn will respond in any way. 🤔
Sadly this happens to creators all the time. Not the first or last time this will happen.
Unfortunately very true.
Cool skull 💀, looks like somthing from the movies The Phantom or Indiana Jones and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skulls. - 🎃🧡
What is the upc for the skull. I am trying to find it at Joann's.
I have all the info about it in a pinned comment on my previous video.
$700 😮

If you're so worried about JoAnn fabrics doing something wrong why don't you destroy the one you bought and buy the real one from the artisan?
