Thanks for posting this video. I have two of these same units and one had been dead for over a year. When I opened it up, the same cap was swollen just like the one in your video. Replacing it solved the issue. Many years as an electronics service technician taught me that similar electronic units often have similar problems and once you find the solution for the first one the rest are easy. Thanks again, Jim
Legend! Helped me get a second hand unit I bought off Facebook turning on. Now I just have an issue where my right front speaker channel does not work...
hello...i have yamaha rx v1400 no power but stand by voltage present...if i push switch on, pin PRY from microprosesor only 0 volt where as pin PSW 5 volt present...does it microprosesor dead....thank you.
Also I the rxv375 . Mine used to power on but would off after so long. Now it clicks. At first it was 2 fast clicks. Now it clicks then a second or 2 another click...Help please
Hello. I've got an older version RX-v630RDS, only getting 0.05v on PRY after pushing PSW. Micro computer has a reset pin. does anyone know how to use this feature? I'm totally stumped, i just fixed it after finally finding a bad 5V reg, then i found the volume knob was almost totally unresponsive. I took the front off, cleaned the pot / encoder but now not even the start relay clicks. Can't make any sense of it, power switch is working to the micro computer. I am getting around a 3v signal on another output from the microprocessor M30622M4A as it tries to boot up but for some reason this flows back up to the main regulator board as if flowing backwards into one of the regulators there, seems a bit strangle. Anyway. Since i took the front off, cleaned the volume pot (encoder) i get nothing at all other than what i can measure, around 5V coming to the processor which is within limits, seems to be a small transistor that regulates the 5v not too far from the chip. This model has a 12v standby which floats at around 19V until the power button is hit, then it drops to around 12V and the 5V is present on the processor this one runs vcc between 4.2V and 5.5V at 16Mhz. To reset, says: "a reset is effected by holding the reset pin level “L” (0.2V CC max.) for at least 20 cycles. When the reset pin level is then returned to the “H” level while main clock is stable, the reset status is cancelled and program execution resumes from the address in the reset vector table." Do i basically try a resistor from vcc until i find 0.2V and then hold it down to the reset pin and it should reboot the processor when i hold down the power button. I'm starting to think this is a bad coincidence and that between fixing this and dismantling the front panel something else has gone bad due to the recent powering up but i have personally not come across a potential chain reaction of faults after completing one repair. Bit stumped right now.
I succeed to power my Yamaha Rx-V371. But there is no sound, it shows on the display the music is on but no sound out on the speakers. I tried to reinstall the firmware but couldn’t find it on internet. Any suggestions please 🙏
