Thanks for the video, I'm about to do the same on a Pioneer VSX-321-K-P IC TMS320DA788, where I also only have video, but no sound. I hope to get the same result as you.
Sweet, can't wait to hear back on it. We are trying to fix more audio equipment but aren't as familiar with which units are in high demand for repair so we are having a hard time properly advertising/marketing for it.
@@NicksElectronicRepair Ok, I was able to start the work. I tried heating it up, but without success. I then changed the TMS320DA788 IC of the Pioneer VSX-321-K-P for a brand new. But I still have the same problem at the end, so no luck. Nothing seems wrong with the other components around the IC on examination and also when testing with the multimeter. This made me think of the flow source: Audio Sources (HDMI, SPDIF, etc.) → PCM9211 (Decoding and Selection) → PCM1681 (DAC Conversion) → Amplifier → Speakers. My next step will then be to work around the PCM9211 and PCM1681 from the same board, which are not too expensive pieces to buy, but crucial. Will see what happens next. But I have to order them first, if I need to change one of them, or both. I'll let you know how it goes.
Hello Nick, I have Yamaha v671 receiver and it has similar issue , audio go out and comeback and work if turned on off after few minutes. Now audio stop working , I have updated latest firmware but audio have issue. Are you repair this unit ?
Hello, Yes we can also fix that one. I don't have a specific listing on the website for the repair of that unit but it is very similar to the RX-V675, we should have no problem fixing it. If you want to send it in for repair, we give customers 2 options, you can mail in the entire unit, which is going to be a bit more expensive on the shipping and we do charge a little more since it is a bit more work. Or you can dissasemble it and remove the Digital/HDMI board and send in only the circuit board which will be a bit more work for you, but we both charge less on the service fee and it will save you on shipping cost. You just need to make sure to package it properly so it doesn't get damaged during shipping. I would have you purchase the service for the 675 listing we have on our website linked below, at checkout just put a note that you plan on sendin in the 671 nickselectronics.com/products/rx-v675 If you have any questions regarding the service or process, I would ask that you reach out to us directly through our contact form on our website or email us directly at info@nickselectronics.com nickselectronics.com/pages/contact
It could be a very similar chip. You could remove the cover and take a look at the HDMI board to see if it has the same layout. If it does with the same chip in a similar location you could try heating it or freezing it and see if that makes a difference. If it does then you would have confirmed the fault. If you aren't sure and would like to have us take a look at it for you, I would recommend you reach out to us via our support@nickstvs.com email and we can discuss options for you.
HI Nick, I have Yamaha RX-V485. I am facing a issue where Receiver doesn't connect to the router in the 'wired' mode. It does connect in the 'wireless' mode perfectly - no issues there. I have checked for the faulty cable and the router ports. Both seem OK as other devices when connected there work Okay. Any suggestion what could be the issue? Thank you.
It's very likely as that is a common fault for this one. If you want to send in the board for repair, we can fix it for you. We have one of these unit in our shop as a test unit to fix other people's motherboards.
I must not be understanding what you are saying because my first though is that what you are suggesting is not possible. Do you have a video, or visual you can share of someone doing what you are suggesting?
@ I’ve heard the ground pads with these IC’s usually fail to fault soldering, so I’m thinking if clamping the IC while soldering will help with better connection and longevity

Hi Nick, I have a error DC PRT 024 with mi yamaha RX A 680, do you know from where is it?
Thanks for not making it a 30min video like other repair channels.
Haha yeah no problem!

Let me know how that goes I am curious to know if it suffers from the same failure.
@@NicksElectronicRepair Will do. I'll do it this weekend.

How much does this cost if I were to take it somewhere to be repaired?

Other than the network chip on your Yamaha gone out, I don't know.

I would’ve clamped the chip with a clamp when soldering ground chip
