He’s just head and shoulders above so many other skaters. His musicality and line are so beautiful. The music he chose was so inspiring.

Paul’s skating was so exquisite that the back crossovers during “The Mission” portion of this performance become important and meaningful when usually such simple moves are forgotten. Had Paul been consistent during his career, he would have been an Olympic gold medalist (actually should have been in 1992 instead of Petrenko who had a dreadful, error-filled program while Paul’s was mostly clean and skated with such beauty). One of the loveliest skaters ever.

We all know know even to this day how much he is loved and respected.

Not many skaters have the "presence" to skate to the type of music he chose. He had it.

Such an awesome, and memorable skate. He truly had a style all his own despite comparisons to John Curry. He should have won this competition. Not sure how he lost to Eldridge’ lackluster performance unless Paul finished poorly in the compulsory figures.

One of the "best" mens artistic skaters that I have ever seen, a memorable skating program, so glad I was able to see it again, a real thrill !

Such a beautiful skater, my god. I often think he should have been a dancer, the way he moves so far outside of his frame and how musical he is. He’s a joy to watch, was so happy to see him put it all together in Albertville.

DM Wilcox he reminds me a great deal of the great John Curry

@@elainesnow326 Oh, yes. For awhile when he was a junior skater, Paul's coach was Carlo Fassi, who trained John Curry. Seeing Curry greatly influenced Paul, he has said. I believe he worked directly with Curry some. Robin Cousins, another Fassi student and great artistic skater, lived with the Wylie family while training for the 1980 Olympics.
Curry was the skater most responsible for me falling in love with the sport. Wylie is my all-time favorite.

According to Misha Petkevich (and I agree), Paul has had a great classical style.
