Thanks to this video I did mine today on 2016 TDI Lux. Great instructions! Taking my sweet time in collecting the tools, carefully blocking the car, and doing the first wheel took about 2 hours. The second one was 30 min. or less. I bought OEM Czech Beck/Arnley pads for $22 (amazing!) and sensors for $10 from Amazon. The pads were very tight going in, but ultimately they fit precisely. Thank you Spotted Euros: it was easy, fun and worthwhile.

Awesome video. I recently bought a 2010 TDI and I'm in the process of freshening things up. I'd have imagined this to be much more awkward!

I know. I thought the same thing. Typically everything on the Touareg is complicated.

Why didn’t you open the bleeder valve as you’re retracting the pistons?

Firstly thank you so much for all these useful Vids!
Being one of the main reasons I have been on the touareg Hunt I'd love to pick your brain.
Looking to buy a 2010 tdi with under 100k miles. Having trouble drawing the line of how "new" i want a 10 year old car. Kind of feel to buy the lowest mileage for the long haul but also feel 10 years will need repairs regardless...
    1) Reliability from your experience? Do you see these touaregs hitting 300k or the higher cost repair parts outweigh long life?
    2) Air-suspension is worth it? Price bump plus 10 year old reliability?
    3) Are there plenty of buyback left or becoming rare?
    4) Anything to watch out for when buying these?
    Thanks!!

Do you not recommend copper grease to rear of the pads to stop noise , squeaks etc

Nice Work, Man. Deff. Going to DIY mine nxt time. Super-tired of paying the Stealers $2K for this job. From my old Toyota P/U, I'd recommend using a beefy C-clamp rather than the channel locks, to avoid marring the caliper faces. Cheers.

I own a 2007 Tou v6, is my first AWD and I love it. I observed my front tyres are taking more wearing than the rear tyres. Is that normal in a AWD car? Do you recommend cross the tyres?

I do think it’s common. I think the 4motion system on these Touaregs is a little more front bias. Most AWD cars are.

Hey Josh! My 07 Touaregs front pistons are stuck so I can’t get the new pads in any suggestions before I have to go drop a ton of money on new calipers :)

Now how about that for a coincidence! I've got pads and discs ordered for my 2009 and I should get them by tomorrow. By the way, did you measure your rotors to see if they're still not at minimum thickness yet? I think the front rotors are 32mm new and can go down to 30mm and then they should be changed. Not sure how many people really adhere to this recommendation though.
