- This video we discuss being comfortable and confident with the basic skiff skill of trapezing.
Trapezing adds righting moment, by moving crew weight further from the centreline, without the weight penalty of building wider boats. Trapeze systems are used on most skiff classes which makes sailing from the trapeze a key skill for any skiff sailor.
Here we talk about about trapeze harness fit, then hit the water to break down into steps the process from beginner trapeze sailor to confident helming from the wire.

Been sailing for about 7 years now. I've trapezed before but not the proper way. This helps a lot!
I'm purchasing #894 and importing to the States. This kind of video is exactly what I need to learn the basics. Looking forward to watching other videos on your channel. Will also look into Lennon. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Was it you sent an email via the class website?
Hi Giles, I've replied via email. I've also removed your comment so no-one will spam your email address! Happy sailing!
You can be amazing at what you do, but only a few people have the ability to communicate information effectively and clearly........your very good
Hello, thank you for the awesome video! Would you mind making a video going over tacking when on the trapeze? Things like when to release the sheet from the cleats and rising or dropping the trapeze.
some shore drill examples on the footwork would also be a good to see
Not sure which is more amusing.. Guy's fall, or my high pitch giggle?!
I thought you had sped up the sound on your giggle. Hahahah.
How do you have your secondary height adjustment setup on the trapeze wires?
We use a 'continuous splice'. The advantage being you can still adjust it with weight on the trapeze.
Its discussed in more detail at 5:27 in this video: ruclips.net/video/7nnbg6nWZd8/видео.html
