    So thrilled to download your latest book on audible and to then discover that you’re also the narrator. Bravo!

    my name is david duran and i am 27 years old, I live in Cuba and all my life I have been passionate about sailing, all my life I have dreamed of having a boat and being able to live and sail across the horizon, unfortunately at 27 years of age I have never gotten on a sailboat and much less sailed one, I live In a country where boats are only for the grandchildren of the leaders of this country, no ordinary Cuban like me can board or navigate a boat, and if one day I approached one, I would automatically be accused of trying to escape from country in the boat, there is no freedom for a boy like me who just wants to fulfill his dream, and thanks to your videos I can live through you what it is to sail and learn a lot, and pretend that it is me at a certain point who sails the boat, I hope in the near future to be able to escape from cuba to the united states where I can be a real person, and work hard to be able to fulfill my dream of having my own boat and sailing like you do, and you christian williams is responsible to have inspired me I am determined to accomplish this goal, hopefully one day I will have the honor of being able to meet you personally and be able to learn from you as an inexperienced navigator, dont stop to make videos pls!

    I've been taking my first lessons in sailing at 42 just like a kid and they have been a blast! Thanks for the amazing videos

    This is one of your best videos. Not because of your appearance in cameo as the narrator (with a voice like a jazz quartet), but because of the content and structure. You deferred to "the experts" and then give context to your audience. Thanks for showing us how it's done.

    Man, I wish I'd have been exposed to sailing as a kid. I suppose it is at least as much due to living in the middle of the country, but still. Had I been exposed to it as a kid, I imagine the direction I went in life might be fairly different.

      The boxy ones are Optimist prams, probably the most popular starter boat for kid programs. Little boats with red swipe on sail are RS Tera, a more modern trainer. Many pram are designed for home building, such as ruclips.net/video/IWxmZKtYz3M/видео.html

    Are there any programs desighed for 50 year old kid, or thaught by experienced sea sailor? I live in Salt Lake City, enjoy desert/mountain life. And ocean is calling on the other end.

    • @trippg3261
      @trippg3261 Год назад

      Absolutely. Any community with any body of water has sailing schools. One of the best ways to learn is to find a sailing club almost all of them will be more than happy to just show you around the ropes.

      @@trippg3261 Thank you for the comment. I thinking about the club in Bellingham WA where I used to reside, the gloomy winter is something I need to cope with. There are several small towns along the Pacific coast in Northern California. I will avoid big city as possible.

    I’m sailing my Catalina 25 a little too much sail up a gust comes along and overpowers the boat lots of weather helm. My reaction is to fight it with the tiller. It’s too much so I release the main sheet. What would happen if I just didn’t fight the tiller. Is that an option? Love your videos!! Got any advice?

    • @ChristianWilliamsYachting
      @ChristianWilliamsYachting  Год назад +2

      When the boat heels the hull shape causes excessive weather helm to maintain the course. yo . Ease mainsheet or reef until weather helm returns to normal. Other options are to feather up into the wind to reduce heel, or to put the crew on the weather rail so you can carry more sail without heeling so much. Excessive heel looks dramatic in photos but in fact slows the boat down. Keep the boat on its feet by every means available. That usually means reducing sail when the wind comes up.
