My family and I were in Buriram in January of this year, visiting an Angkor Wat replica there. We met many people who still speak khmer. It’s indeed a beautiful place.
That is SUPER cool Yun!! I hope this brought back some good memories for you (thank you for sharing, I guess I need to return again and remember the few words of Khmer that I know/knew :) )
Yes I was there in 1990 many of them still speaking khmer /Cambodia but Thai forbidden them to speak but international law enforcement Thailand not to do it anymore because of cultures. ...
Nice. Ya, most of the Ancient Buddhist temples you see in Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam were all Ancient Khmer Temples when the Khmer King ruled almost all of southeast Asia a long long time ago.
It's awesome to see a Khmer ruin in Buriram. As for the Naga, according to legend, ancient Cambodia (Kambujadesa) was ruled by Queen Soma, the daughter of the Naga King. Thus, since ancient times, after Kambu Swayambhuva aka Kaundinya, sailed from India and joint matrimonial union with Queen Soma, Naga or Neak in Khmer has been important symbol throughout the Khmer Empire. Thanks for visiting the ruin and share footage of it.

Thanks for the great video, look at the juices from those rotisserie chicken, mouth-watering! I agree with other viewers, the editing skills and camera work is “purdy good”. I also watch the whole commercials, You’re Welcome! Lol
Well said! Haha, those juices!! (I went back and watching again). Thanks for the good words about the editing, yeah I started learning from the first video (14 months ago?), using just a GoPro, so ... yeah! Hopefully I will continue! (and wow, THANK you for even letting the ads play, thanks so much!!!)
What a beautiful Khmer site!!! Also your papaya salad with plara and your dum tang are all big on umami i bet with simple Gai yang!!!!
They are! Haha Eugenio, great comment! Been trying to appreciate the umami content of all my meals lately, most of which are veggie-based, but definitely not this one :). haha
@@JoelsTastyRide i was vegetarian 2x in my life.... good vegetarian cooking is a mastery of bringing out the levels of umami in food
Great video Joel and Li. I always learn alot from your videos Joel, very informative. Thanks!
