"It's too much when tattoos cover your personality" - that's a word of wisdom
@@Psalm_107.31 When someone is such a boring person, they have to make themselves interesting via extreme tattooing rather than who they are as a person.
Kinda like extreme metal-heads, own personality is bland so they replace it with the metal style.
The dude with a skull on his face is a perfect representation of that 😁
Why does no one understand what speech marks are anymore
@@Helbeneathmyshoulders I do not agree with you. you have the right likes aesthetics, styles etc. but first of all you are a person and I think that as long as people see you as a person and not as a walking scratched freak everything is ok and it has nothing to do with the "edge" personality
@@Crossfire990 Nah. Extreme metal is super sick done well! Genre is no "style replacement" for personality.
Lalo has the best philosophy, in my opinion. "When the tattoos you carry on you are heavier and stronger than your personality" That is profound and brilliant, and the video could've ended right there...
Totally agree. Best answer right off the bat.
Seriously! He was right on
110% true.
sucks he got treated like trash in ink master
He said it spot on!!!
I LOVE how Sarah Fabel talks about it in medical/functional terms rather than aesthetic. Too much is when you damage your largest organ (skin) to the point here it can no longer function. Brilliant.
@@detroitfettyghost8492 wtf is wrong with you
Totally agree with you Anna. There is too much relativity in art that ignores the real physical impact of ink on skin.
I wonder if there are long term studies about skin health and tattoos especially the more covered people.
Pretty sure Anna said nothing about smashing her... so your comment is irrelevant.
@@detroitfettyghost8492 fuckin hell dude, just keep it to yourself
Joe Smith: normal name, soft voice, calm demeanor
irl: *SKULL FACE*
How calmly he talks and moves and the contrast with the skull face just makes him so attractive to me
@@alicefinardi1025 I understand what your saying, but would you walk across the city hand in hand with him?
@@Kaasbaas045 that is not exactly what i was picturing in my mind when i said that i find him attractive
@@alicefinardi1025 ah you were smashing him already in your mind? Skip the bullshit, my type a girl
El Diablo went from becoming a member of the Suicide Squad to professional tattoo artist.
“No need to hurry, Ease into it” is great advice
It's hard to fight the urge tho D:
@@shelbylogan6470 Fight... Harder? 😂
I really needed to hear that. I really want another tattoo right now but my parents don’t know about my first one and I don’t have a sound job because I’m in college, so I really needed to hear that.
Guy Aitchison knows what’s up honestly. He always has the best advice
He is the voice of reason everytime, opposite to some of the other "artists" :)
Pinkrabbitears 1 dude would be great to sit and get tattooed by for hours on end you would learn so much
@@fuchsteufelswild463 why the quotation marks
I got such a dad/Bob Ross vibe from him 😅. It was pretty reassuring.
His and Sara Fabel’s advices. Do what you want as long as it isn’t damaging your health.
Guy Aitichson is the wise hippie uncle that we should all aspire to be
just curious, what flag is your profile?
@@thedestroyasystem if i had to guys id say that flag is demifluid. btw are you a system too? we are undiagnosed soooooooooo (feeling invalid)
@@JacksonH8r Bruh thats such a mood. We're undiagnosed but definitely have OSDD-1b.
@@thedestroyasystem I mean when animals react to who's fronting differently then you kinda know
@@JacksonH8r Lol yeah
Sara Fabel makes an important point which I find its not very hammered into the community. I love my tattoo and want to get more but I am aware that it can affect my health. Anything with the eye is no go. I rather have my vision for as long as I am able to have it. I also think the artist who said that if your tattoos are stronger than your personality gave the best answer.
She has points..on her chest...2 of them
I have eyes tattooed it’s safe if done right
@@snakeeyes1662 not safe for everyone though. Me, personally, I am prone to eye infections and have had (bad) ulcers in the past, to the extent where I almost lost an eye. Now, since I manage my eyes better (I was like 11 or 12 when I had the bad ulcer), I am only prone to infections and such, and only have to have like 1-3 surgeries every 2 years. But because of all this, I'd say I could lose an eye even if I went to the best eyeball tattoo artist in the world. As with absolutely anything, it ain't the same for everyone. But fair play getting your eyes tattooed! You must have some pain tolerance :')
Sal O'Mahoney unlucky for you it’s not painful it’s injected 1mm into eyeball with insulin syringe
Saras point is bullshit. A tattoo wont make your body stop “breathing”. Your skin doesnt breathe. The “biological functions” of your skin is basically absorb and exude besides the fact that it is there to protect everything thats going under it, which isnt prevented by tattoos.
I had to laugh out out loud at the fully tattooed guy, face and all...named joe smith.I'm sorry, but thats hilarious! The most generic name for such a memorable looking dude.
ReezeGoingSenseless THE MOST generic! Lmaooooo
That's the point. It probably isn't his real name.
@@morgan.hasara why though, this is just advertisement and exposure in the end
Site Sakaio could be his stage name
Most the artists are like “don’t get crazy face tattoos” and then this dude is just like “GO FOR IT MAN!” And has all the shit on his face and body 😂😆😂
I love that the softest, sweetest sounding of them all is Joe Smith and he looks the most gnarly or all of them.
The fully tattooed guy seems like a cool person to hang out with.
Don't let the beyond-average name fool you, Joe Smith is an above-average human🖤
Yessssss I see him in so many videos and I always get happy when I see him!! I think he's the coolest person ever and I'd loooove to get to know him ㅠㅠ
@@inked his name doesn't even bother me a bit :'3 I like his "chill" personality.
@@jubiloks_ hes alright
@@jubiloks_ yeheess I feel the same! I always get excited when I see him in these video's :D
There's something about the presence of Guy Aitchison that just soothes me.
I know! I REALLY want to get tattooed by him since he’s said he specializes in tattooing over scars. I’ve def got my fair share lol.
"Too much is when the tattoos you carry on you, are heavier and stronger than your personality"
Totally agree!!!
Guy Aitchison's advice is the best I've ever heard about getting tattoos. Period. For some people on the outside, even one tattoo is "too much". My parents for example. They hate tattoos. I have one, and about to get another tomorrow. And researching my third. At 46 years old, I know who I am. And they are for me.
^ 100% about this
Thanks! I have a RUclips channel by that name to track my journey back to health and fitness!
Inked notice me
Mid-Life Crisis Fitness yeah. I love full body tattoos, but for a petite, girly girl like me, with my personality, I don’t think it would be a good match. I have like 10 tattoos that I can hide. like on the inner side of my arms (forearm and biceps) but on the outer side of the arms might be too “heavy” for my tiny ass arms 😂
Boom boom boom the contrast might be great, the “girly girl” plus “heavy tattoos.” Lol! My tattoo artist called my arm tiny, and people generally comment on my small size. Im getting a dragon on the back of my forearm, so I say if you want it, go for it!
I agree with the artist who said when your tattoos are interfering with your body’s ability to perform its job. And also the ones who talked about jobs and lifestyle because honestly it does effect that at a point. Also, I agree with the artist who said that when the individual pieces are making it hard to actually see and appreciate the pieces you already have. And yes, I have tattoos.
When it comes to tattoos, it should always be quality over quantity !
I wish people could understand that
Absolutely. That’s exactly why I’m willing to travel to get mine done.
Omg yes like why people still get them done because they are cheap or free no you get what you pay for I know a few people who did there own at home because they bought a gun and ink and they look like shit covered infected scars
I dont rly care bout quality lmao ive never really been interested in big pieces either i would let my friend tattoo me or someone that is learning/practicing
for you maybe
Young people:
"No such thing as too much"
"If it effects your health it's too much"
"If you're doing it just to be wired (eyes) it's too much"
Middle aged:
"That's a hard question..."
"Maybe not the face..."
"Make sure it's not going to effect your work life..."
"Your body is your temple, treat it carefully, you'll find the right balance..."
Old guy:
"You gotta know who you are! Your arms and back are prime real estate! Don't fuck up like I did!"
😆😂😆😂😁😄
Some people dont live long enough to ease in to it
The wise and the naive
The guy with the ‘Y’all Need Jesus’ shirt looks like he’s brought along Jesus to sit next to him just to illustrate his point.
Omfg XD
Jesus is black
Jesus has the same glasses as me. Nice
I wouldn't have realised had I not read this comment and went searching for the guy with the shirt
lmao I’m weak bro🤣🤣🤣
ahahahahahahhaha
joe smith’s voice is so relaxing and soothing i wasn’t expecting it to come out of his body lmfao. he seems awesome!
He really is
Faces on your face is too much
Blueface
A face tat with a face tatted on that face tatted on your face is maybe too much
A face on a face on your face = faceception
King Crimson was truly angered by that quote
Blueface has benjamin franklin tatted on his face. A dude named Xan Frank has a portrait of anne frank also on his face.
Joe smith sits like hes reserved and shy which is interesting to me like he looks and is so cool and nice
“How far is too far?” They ask, to the man who has his own skull tattooed on his face.
you only wanna hear answers you like? its fitting to ask him broughten your perspective

Because Rolex are expensive man, anyone can get apple watch though
Why do I keep watching these videos I don't have tattoos nor do I plan on getting any.
Why do I keep coming across ppl commenting this every time I watch these videos?
Love Lalo and Sara's answers the most. Definitely, your choice and different people carry their art differently. But, your body IS your temple and you get only one. If your sense of self is lost or it negatively impacts your health it kind of takes away from that philosophy.
Guy Aitchison and Joe Smith are literally the nicest guys ever.
I'd love to get a few pieces done by both of them.
I reckon it's like drinking: when it starts to negatively impact your day to day, that's too much.
Drinking should be illegal
@@LuhJay3 Why?
@@LuhJay3 another "i can't do it so you shouldn't guy." Huh? No one asked you what you thought should be illegal. I think you should keep your opinions to yourself, but i doubt you will.

The guy with the "y'all need jesus" t-shirt is next to a jesus-looking guy.
Just wanted to point that out

1:23 Guy Aitchinson has the best advice on tattooing that I have ever heard.
« When you do all black or start tattooing your eyeballs »
Michela:am i a joke to you?
Guy Aitchison sort of reminds me of Woody Harrelson... lol
I liked the fact the 'health' issue was brought into this discussion. When you are tattooed to the point that your skin can no longer physically do its intended job, you've gone too far.
The last guy. Truth. I have bright coloured hair and some days I'm strong and other days I'm not and I just want hide, because it's always mentioned anywhere I go. My soul needs the bright colours, but I went for a long time miserable with brown hair, because I couldn't take people constantly talking about it, or coming up to me, even the good comments. I couldn't imagine how often you'd be approached/talked about with a face tattoo, and there are days when everybody just wants to be incognito and left alone. Do you, but it would take a very mentally strong person to live that life. Fucking kudos to those that are that strong. :)
My God 😍 Sara such thoughtful educated response!! Beautiful professional artist!
sara fabel is such a doll
getting tattoed by yomico in january can't wait
Agreed with ease into it. Got my first tattoo on my ribs a decade ago and loved it. Since then Ive known I want at least 50% of my body tattooed. However, I only get a piece done every 2 years. Getting a tattoo is an experience, if you find the right artist it’s a blast. Why rush it when you can gradually go adding on throughout time so the fun is never over.
It bugs me when people are getting tattoos to give the impression they are something they really are not. For example: I know a guy (complete tool) who got his grandfathers military ID number tattooed on himself when his grandfather died. Now, he didnt give a crap about his grandfather when he was alive, (& certainly did not change after he died), he was / is using that number as if HE himself should be respected because he has a military id number on him. But its not his! He's trying to mooch that recognition from his grandfather service as if it was his own. I guess that is like people representing themselves as verterans, wearing fake uniforms etc. I guess what I am trying to say is dont get tattoos because you think others will think differently of you, (& tattoos dont cover up being as asshole!). Get them for you. Get what you like. YOU have to live with them. (Me - Aussie female with 4 tattoos that I love and planning on more. & most people dont even know about them, they are for me) ❤
I completely agree. That is a large reason for why I don’t think really young people should get tattoos. BC many young people are much more concerned about how others view them & dont yet know who they themselves truly are. I know a LOT of people who got tattoos when they were young (16-21) who only did it bc they thought it would make OTHERS see them as cooler, gangster, rebel, punk, etc. The majority of such people I know REGRET getting those tattoos! And some of those who got highly visible tattoos that young (esp face & hands) have had those tattoos SERIOUSLY NEGATIVELY IMPACT their lives! 😕
Of course there are PLENTY of older people who also get tattoos for the wrong reasons. Unfortunately age does NOT always insure maturity. And some people will ALWAYS care more about what other people think of them & focus their lives/make all decisions based on what impact it will have on others’ opinion.
Ppl spitting straight facts here I see :)
Someone in the military would never really get their dod. Its like getting your social tattooed on you
@@77thezone exactly ☺
Lalo said it best and to the point. "When the tattoos you carry on you are heavier and stronger than your personality." Covers all the other explanations completely. One may be enough for one, full body just enough for some.
Anything that is not actual skin is definitely too much. Sara, Courtney and Alexandra know what’s up.
Stephanie Gomes soooo, everything other than your fingernails and corneas?
I know the girl with the botched eyeball tattoo. She went to someone with 0 training and trusted him just because he had them done on himself. Luna cobra is the only person who should be trusted to do this procedure if anyone.
Anti-Cosmic Satanism Yeah, no. Your corneas are meant to be clear, they are delicate and easily scarred, there are sclera lenses that preform the same aesthetic function, non permanently and are changeable. Also they don’t blind you so easily,
What happened to her eyeball?
@@Oct8pus inexperienced, untrained guy went too deep in her eye and injected the ink. She was supposed to have both eyes done but the pain was so bad she said no to getting the 2nd one done. She has scar tissue all over her actual eyeball and had to see multiple drs for multiple medications because it got so severe she couldnt see. She was a model and it totally ruined her modeling career.
@@peeptobyveidttheo holy shitballs! That sounds absolutely awful. Thanks for responding
Is she the Candian girl? I just googeld it and the article I found said: "the artist (who also happened to be her boyfriend) injected too much ink in one sitting, used a needle that was too big, made an injection that was too deep and did not dilute the ink with saline as is required." That's a lot of mistakes to make when the eyeball is concerned.

Intelligent, grounded advice from the eccentric world of artists? Who knew? LOVE this!
The more I watch inked videos, the more I like Guy. He is always so thoughtful with any subject.
The one thing that stood out for me is the lady that said “once it becomes a danger to your health u should tread carefully “ I absolutely agree with her , very good advice ✊🏻✊🏻😘
Anything hateful crosses the line, to me.
4:30 his shirt says “ya’ll need Jesus”
Bro he’s sitting next to you 😂
I love watching these videos to get tattoo ideas for characters in my books, and it's enhanced my writing so much. Thanks guys!
Lately, I've been unable to stop thinking about getting my first tattoo. But I'm never 100% sold on any of the ideas I get for them. Guy Aitchison's advice just gave me the answer I needed. I'm not even sure of who I am right now and I'm just letting the rush to get a tattoo get to me... Now I know I definitely want to wait.
I love how Carlos Torres uses "read" in the artistic sense. He's absolutely correct. I paint, and it's the same with painting.
Kind of the big things that were recurring.
Respect the art and culture of tattoos. Do not get a tattoo because you want other people to think you are weird, or cool or whatever, get a tattoo because *you* want it.
Take care of your body. It is the only one you get, and tattooing definitely goes too far when it starts causing long term damage to you.
Don't feel rushed to get tattoos, no matter how much you love them. You aren't going to lose the ability to get them, and getting a tattoo is committing to changing your body significantly. Make sure you are happy with what you have on yourself because a mistake is going to stay with you for a very long time.
Finally, you have your own personal set of standards for what qualifies as too much. Respect that other people will have different opinions, and understand that your tattoos will affect how other people think of you, regardless of how fair it is to be judged on your appearance. It is a part of the package.
They all had good advice. I'm pretty tattooed myself and I love all of them(even though most are patchwork and not really the same theme). Imo, too far is when you go to the face/ eyes. But you do you/do what makes you happy!
Guy Atchison has great advice. Save your arms, back and torso. I started with my feet and legs. I'm 35 and still don't have any tattoos above my knees. It's easy to cover with pants and shoes. Some people have no idea I'm tattooed.
How long did they interview these guys for
I'd say once they get the answer and then they ask another question. Maybe the artists get asked 10 questions and those questions will be spread out over a few months.
Still being interviewed now 🤣
What do you mean?! They never left!!
With all this editing? They probably sat down for at least 6 hours with each person. Some of these people been in these same outfits since the beginning of the year and still churning videos out. I remember when I was interviewed on this news for something I wrote I talked to the reporter on camera for like a full hour. When it aired on TV it was like maybe two minutes of footage.
They can’t ever leave. It’s a trap. There’s no escape
Being hooked to ink is better than a lot of other things u can get hooked on IMO. I really like what these artists had to say super chill.
I like tattoos, because I like art. But I wouldn't get a tattoo cuz of personal reasons: I get bored of things overtime and second I prefer not to add anything permanent to my skin.
I think the opposite of you. Why get some shit that means nothing to you.
Guy Aichison had the best advise. Truly wise in his words.
I’m a 48 year old who had 3 tattoos taking maybe 5% of my body that I’d gotten decades ago. Now I’m getting more ink than ever before suddenly with a full plan and a strong idea of what I want based on the art that means something to me. I’ve never been happier and my back piece from 25 years ago is faded and destined for coverage unless I can’t get art I love and need to laser it off first.
Quality over quantity is true in all aspects of life. But quality and quantity are a killer combo!
I love this dude with the skull face tat
how is no one talking about the guy just hitting his vape lol
Leave the man be lmao
I loved the first answer. And that differs for every person.
“Find out who you are before you get tattooed” great advice because if I would’ve gotten all the tattoos I wanted before 21 I would’ve regretted them all. I’m 24 now and I got 10 tattoos, no regrets so far
These videos are honestly the highlight of my youtube experience
1:38 I like this dude cause his so honest and actually cares that people don't make a mistake
Joe Smith is so chill and cool I wanna be his neighbor 🥺❤
Probably the best tattoo channel, one of the best but it’s cool to hear what tattoo artists think about different types of tattoos.
Lalo, Guy, and Shine had my favorite advice of the video
Am I the only one Who watches these and mostly just admires the tattoos? 😍😍😍
That's certainly something everybody must decide for themselves. I personally would never get my face (and eyeballs) tattooed. That'd be way too much for me. But...to each their own! :)
I like His Aitchison. He always thinks about what to say and actually gives good advices and tips (in all of the videos)
Such interesting perspectives from such a cool group!
what i love about this is that it shows not everyone thinks the same way. the answers are different and theres always something we agree with or not, and i like that this says: the meaning of too much is really yo to you, and no one else.
All due respect to Joe Smith, but the ONLY place someone can work looking like him is a tattoo parlor. Too many people make tattoo decisions at 20 that leave them unable to get into various careers outside of trucking later on.
He was talking about working at tattoo parlors. He started a couple decades ago, when you had trouble finding work even there with face tattoos. And honestly, more and more places just don't care about tattoos. His case is one of the most extreme, but we are getting closer to accepting that every day
Any warehouse job will hire him, if he can put up good productivity numbers
For me, this video sums up perfectly the concept that there is a tattoo artist for everyone. The key is putting in the research. If there is a tattoo that you want... put in the effort to find the artist who will work with you to achieve that. Not all tattoo artists are the same!!
Wish they could’ve got Michel Bottin on this subject.
*Michela 😊

I thought the same thing, but I feel like the trolls would have a field day with her
How tf didn’t they ask the chick who has eyeball tattoos about this when half these people are talking about eyeball tattoos lol
Mr. Koala seriously. Love her tats and the eye tats. So cool yet still so beautiful
Homeboy with full face tattoo seems super cool and is honestly super attractive. I never am really here for full faces but dude is rocking it and seems to have a bomb personality
I love Joe! I love hearing his opinions
Guy, is honestly the most humble & wisest person here, hands down 🙌
i was waiting for someone to make the reference of “how far is tattoo far” lmao
i agree with everything joe smith said. they are so right about the experience of living outside of societal norms. we both view beauty as something that comes straight from your internal layers rather than your outer layers. something i have thought about several times is completely keeping my face hidden from everyone so people will treat me however they please based on who i am rather than who i look like
I've been watching these videos, Joe seems hella cool 🔥
He is irl :)
Joe Smith is one of the sweetest and most endearing people ever. He has this very strong appearance, but then is so articulately spoken and just so nice to listen to.
6:18 you got an rollex logo tattoo on your neck but you carry an Apple watch on your arm !!! That is too much for me !
Autonomy Is A Beautiful Thing, That’s The Joys Of Body Modification, Everybody Should Be Able To Go As Far As They Choose To
Once it stops being art is when it becomes too much
I like the last guys point... personality and personal choice are everything.
"To each their own" is now my new phrase
Not a fan of the full face tattoo but I would 100% get tattooed by that dude. It shows such dedication to the craft and I would feel safe with his work.
Wait there was one artist that talked from a medical and intelligent standpoint everybody else talk from a philosophical or a greedy standpoint or your typical stand points of there's no such thing as too much it all depends on you one artist I have respect for out of all of them
I went with the getting to know who you are and think about it aspect. I was 45 when I got my first tattoo because I wanted it to be meaningful and say who I was. It’s now almost 3 years and I finally figured out what I want my next one to be.
That question is subjective... I have 17 tattoos and I’m nowhere near done... but my mother thought it was too much when I was on number 5
TJ Avagliano 😂😂💔I am on 25 n I need more 😂😂😂my mind gave up at 2
"find who you are before getting tattooed" the best one I think
Guy Aitchison where were you and our wisdom when I started to get tattoos at 17? Haha! Wish I had as smart tattoo artist like yo back then!
For a guy with face tats he is a really casual person and sounds like he has an awesome personality
The background music reminds me of food wishes RUclips channel 😂👌🏻
In my opinion every person should be able to do whatever she or he wants to, in the end it's only you who is living your own life and living in your body. Don't like me or the way I look - it's your problem, I don't care if I'm comfortable with myself.
Carlos Torres seems like such a nice dude.
I did what guy said just by chance . Waited until 25 . Studied into Japanese stories for years . Started with a full leg Japanese followed by the other leg . Arms and back are the prime real estate especially arms you see them all day every day saving those for last
when Courtney and Alexandra said that "you're just trying to be weird if you get your eyeballs tattooed," I just thought "would yall say this to Grace Neutral?"
Guy Aitchison always gives the most thoughtful answers.
