Thanks for watching…. The Chigg
😊
The thing you thought was a Clevis is a piece that hooks onto the hames on a mule or horse that the trace chain was attached to to pull a load . The hames had several different locations for them to hook into. The hames fitted onto the collar of the mule or horse
Thanks for the id.
Spot on.
Also, the other mystery item looks like a link of a chain used on a manure spreader or some other type of farm equipment with a gear chain.
Most excellent
I really like Mike, such a humble guy. You guys make a great team.
You and Mike had a really good day with lots of Civil War artifacts, Chigg!❤
I enjoy seeing Mike in your videos. He`s a pretty standup guy.
Another great dig Chiggs and Mike. You two have so much fun together. ALB.👏👍😀
This is such a classic chig video. Relics, friends and a fun time.
Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Thanks for watching.
Chigg, you remind me of a friend I grew up with. He and I fed off each other with humor. I like how you tell Mike " Naw that is nothing".
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
@aquachigger You should get a reference book " Cartridges of the World" to help you with shell casings you find.
Not a bad idea.
Massive amount of bayonets, and belt buckle , barrels and Canon's lay buried it's Coming MOooooar!!!; )
I'm sure I will be happy too, Beau. Time to refresh my beverage and watch the picture show.
Chigg good evening from England what a lot of interesting finds thanks again for a very interesting video about those brave souls whom lost their lives in leaving these kind of items behind , beautiful history thanks again take care see you soon
Glad you enjoyed it
Glad you both had fun and finding some pretty cool stuff ❤
I bet mike would love to have a play with one of those rabid beavers :)
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
'Evening
When Mike hunts with Chigg it’s like young Padawan and Yoda, but regardless the adventure is strong with these two. Thank you.
Another Aquachigger Adventure appreciated. The Williams cleaner reminded me that a good friend recently gave me one and of course I had to learn more and discover there are 3 types. It's a different experience to actually hold a bullet (he gave me a few others) to feel the weight and know a soldier had to carry a significant load. It helped me understand why you always love finding bullets. Thanks, Beau, for another day of looking for and finding some great artifacts.
Edit: I'll never come close to being first as the notice "dinged" 19 minutes after you posted. Just happy to be able to watch your videos.
Glad to see you're still uploading. I watched your videos years ago and now im back
Hey, thanks!
Thanks Chigg another great video , you and Mike both did good.
Nice hunt Guys.
I like how Mike's Chigg hat is all worn out.
It isn't worn out, just broke in comfortably.
Mike you are a very lucky man to get to dig with Bo. Listen to him and learn everything you can because he is a very smart man and knows his civil war relics. He also knows lots of other cool stuff. God bless you and your families my friends.
We all have seen your collection of complete civil war cannon bombs. I like how you smile up on a frag! I like how Mike needs your opinion and you make a call for him. Most awesome team! You guys are fun. Rk.
OH!Look it's the awesome Possum crew,great digs Chigg,Cheers!
pretty good video glad to see the weather improving come on SPRING
At 11:55 that is the sidelock screw and brass escutcheon for a Civil War British P-53 Enfield Rifle Musket. It is one of two that held the lock mechanism to the stock.
Good call. I didn't think about the screw still being there.
9:59 I’ve dug those in civil war sites, and believe they’re some kind of 3-way buckle horse tack or to secure straps on wagons.
Awesome finds guys. Thanks for sharing!!!
Another keeper! Thanks guys!
Good luck, my friend! Nice finds... Big hello from new friends and subscribers.. metaldetecting couple.. from southern Europe!Hapyy hunting!
That's a tire chains link. Love your videos.
Thanks Chigg
Cool site! I'd definitely rehunt that place.
Great hunt guys. Congrats on the CW relics.

God bless the Russian children
Best wishes 🇺🇦
Great finds chigg 👍🏻 watching from Washington County Md
Chigg..the small spikes are likely from narrow gauge logging track's..there line's were often moved and relocated as the timber petered out in one area..
Yup. The logging outfits didn’t use plates either, they would just roll up the rail behind them.
Here in northern Michigan, from the 1870"s, the railbeds are loaded with mostly damaged spikes, nuts, bolts and sometimes joiner plates that held the ends of the rails together. After 25 years I'm convinced the loggers either didn't carry money to work or just didn't have any.
Awesome finds, guys
Awesome
Awesome finds!
Mike! Get on the iron.
Your little spikes remind me of minor spikes that they use in the old mines back in the day
If you didn't look at that Blackhawk I would have been very disappointed in you hahaha well done!!!!
Thanks guys, Really enjoyed your Excursion!
LOL! Looks like you guys had fun! Great finds! - Muddypaw 🐾
May Not Be Gold But It's Fun Looking & Diging.
enjoying your videos aquachigger, can't wait until u do the bottle collection
A great team preserving history, great video
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!
Great video guys! Congrats
Great video as usual Chigger Meister!!!
That item that looks like a buckle . I believe is farm machinery chain links
Chigg and Mike hey
Mikey likey spikey
Interestingly, the small rr spikes were made for hard wood. When used a harder wood, it was too tough to drive the big spikes in. As well as to attach small metal peices on the tracks.
Would they ever had used those spikes in the construction of heavy-duty wagons? - Muddypaw🐾
Gotta stop for helicopters and trains!
I watch every video of the chigg I want to watch mikes channel too , but can’t find it. I been watching chiggs videos over 10 years
This camera brings out the wrinkles in my hand. 😂
Chigg Dig...YESSSSS!!!!
Square thing looks like a chain link from a manure spreader
If it's not you, Beau, I'd be curious who has the largest mini ball/ bullet/ artillery collection.
The "clevis" is from a hames. Could be CW era or later.
Could the brass piece be inlaid into a musket stock and the head on the nail piece hold a leather sling? Could the spikes be used to peg a tent? Good finds for both of you.
What about Civil War Tent ⛺️ spike where ropes were used to help hold the tents. ??
Howdy
Howdy
Funny fact , William cleaner is the guys name, was supposed to be a more accurate bullet, not a cleaner bullet..
Your spikes might be from old field Harrow used to level a plowed field .
7:00 Didn't some Canon set up on a short rail.
Lots of vapor trails in the sky lately. Something going down.
lol
👊🤩👍
Could those spikes be tent spikes?
Hello Aquachigger, I'm moving to your area, soon, and I'm currently here until the first week in April. Do you have any pointers on how one could find places to go metal detecting in this area? I'm currently staying in Waynesboro, PA, at my mom's house. However, when I move, I'll be living in Jefferson, MD. Any suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I, truly, enjoy watching your videos! Thank you for showing us what you've found over the years.
You will have to ask permission from someone whether it's friends, family, neighbors or strangers. Jefferson is a great place for CW relics.
Thank you for your help. I suppose I'll have to ask strangers because my sister is the only one I know, here. I detected part of my sister's yard, but, I only found trash. The part of her yard that she would let me metal detect, I think may have been fill dirt from when they dug her basement when the house was built. There's a dairy farmer right behind her house, so, I think I'll ask him if I can metal detect his fields. Also, across the road from the dairy farmer, there's a house that was a Civil War hospital, and, it is currently being restored by an historical society to be used as a museum. So, the dairy farmer's field should have relics.
A tent spike?
Maybe the lil spikes were tent stakes ?
@celticmandoplayer Maybe, but they would be very heavy to carry in a backpack for a small tent since they walked everywhere and they would be too small for a large tent. Wood stakes are lighter and make more sense I think.
@@aquachigger Yeah, I do agree, but maybe they could have been for larger tents, like for officers or cook stations/medical ???
All men are born knowing the stop and watch the helicopter rule.
Chig,
Always wondered after handling all of those bullets. How much lead you absorbed thru your skin.
That could explain alot.
😂
Just kidding
Love your videos
And how much love you have for history.
Will you be attending Detectival and the RCM rally again this year?
Maybe. Don't know yet.
when wrapped in paper like other bullets was it possible for soldiers to tell it was a cleaner bullet?
I suspect so because they threw them away.
2nd
I appreciate your dedication.
@@aquachigger do you have a last place trophy?
@chadlinton.919 this means war!
@@raynin civil war!
@@CHAD-RYANI'm sending a round your way filled with buck shot.
Can they be tent spikes?
Unlikely to use heavy iron when a much lighter wood stake works.

.
Did i get it??
Darn you. A period has to be banned.
How many times does he say "civil war" in this video😂
You did manage to squeeze another in...thanks!
1. Video SEO is not done. (I have already visited your RUclips channel. According to VidiQ, your channel's SEO score is 0 out of 100, which should be 70+. If you can make it 70+, it will help your channel grow faster. If you want to get good results SEO your videos.)
@user-to8cu1yz6k. I checked it and get 100%
So do you think people made fire pits and shot Civil War bullets after the war cuz I have 80 and 100 year old guns that are my everyday uses so do you think people throw away their Civil War guns are they kept using them for years after the war
Repeating rifles took their place soon after… I imagine technology had a big draw during those times.
By the way my 270 is from 1960, 64 years old.
:)
@taxesdeathandtrouble.1886 You are right. Metallic cartridges were very common even by the end of the war. It seems many were cut down to make poorman's shotguns for bunnies though.
