The issue is this guy was making gross comments about his partners mother and his partner and everything they were doing and the parents went "I don't want him in my house and I found a polite way to get him away from me and my child for the night." Doing things traditionally isn't inherently an issue as long as you still believe others can have their own way that works for them. The issue is this type of guy who goes off about wanting traditional roles but then he isn't holding up his end. He simply expects everyone else to wait on him hand and foot and excuse his harassment because "he's traditional" which he thinks means "I'm a man and I get everything to me and everyone has to bow to me, especially my girlfriend." When it's that sort of thing the issue is more hypocrisy and the harm he's causing than it is the actual lifestyle he says he wants to be living. I’ve seen her pick up a two hundred pound person and move them from a bed to a wheelchair, or maneuver a bed bound patient around to change their clothes and bed linen. Not to mention helping to bathe patients. Try spending 12 hours moving 100 to 200 pounds or more of dead weight because of paralysis, stroke, broken limbs,or other physical problems. Try catching that person and stopping them from falling and hurting themselves when they are trying to walk on their own.
It’s usually not about the manual aspect of it, but the implied lack of medical skills and intelligence required to be a nurse. You know, like, “oh, you’re not actually a doctor, you’re just a nurse”
