Glad it was helpful! And I hear ya! When I first started I would focus & recompose and had to break the habit. But after using single point focus a while, I swear it becomes second nature where you don't even need to think about it. 🙂
I would like the next clip to be about how you press the shutter button, or how to look through the viewfinder, or which way the focus ring rotates to focus close or far :)))
Good stuff here! If I can get past my need for perfection, I can get started on my goal of becoming a senior portraits photographer. I hate that I get in my own way.
Oh, I can relate! One thing that helped me was redefining my relationship with 'perfectionism.' Instead of aiming for perfect, I started striving for excellence. Excellence > Perfection. The truth is, the only way to get better is through (messy) action. But the great news is you already have clarity on what you want - and that’s huge. Make your vision so big, clear and exciting that it becomes bigger than your fear, and you can’t lose. 🙌You’ve got this girl!
Great question Ashley! For still subjects, AF-S is best because it locks focus once and holds it steady. While AF-C (continuous) can still work for still subject, it will constantly scan for movement, which can cause subtle, unnecessary focus shifts. That’s why I recommend AF-S for still subjects and switch to AF-C for movement.

Can you shoot still subjects in continuous af mode or will they not be in focus?

What the best setting for a Nikon 7ii mirrorless camera?
Great question Laura! I'm planning on doing a video breaking down my camera settings / how I set up my mirrorless camera. 🙂
