    It blew my mind! I hope someday I'll be able to visit this magical place... Meanwhile, I'll try to put into practice a nice lesson from these trees: they survive with little they can get... Isn't that wonderful enough?!

      Trees are the OG minimalists, living their best lives with just soil, water, and sunlight. We could all learn a thing or two from them!

    Thank you. I'm watching this from Bishop tonight and feeling so peaceful. Being reminded of our ancient elders and the beauty of this area, it's a gift you've given.

    BRAVO Scott, so well done - everything, music, video/drone quality, narrative text, etc.! Your genuine and sincere reverence for this special place is so obvious! I keep thinking about TIME and the recycling of the elements of nature. The ancient Dolomite seabed contains the remnants of truly ancient sea life...and those atoms have been incorporated into the Bristlecone Pines themselves. The cycle of life is so obvious - the atoms of the Bristlecones are the "recycled" atoms from truly ancient living things. These trees may be the oldest current living things on earth, but they are comprised of ageless atoms. Stardust - to - Stardust, over eons of time. One must sit down in an attempt to comprehend it all.

      So glad you liked it! It's definitely worth adding to your bucket list. This is one of my personal favorites, and I try to get up here a couple of times a year. Winter time brings an average of 30 feet of snow, so I can't head up there right now. I'm planning to go end of May or early June this year. Thanks for watching, and commenting!

      Thanks a million for your awesome comment! I'm stoked that you found the video helpful and inspiring. I'm going to be in for a treat this spring with the bristlecones near Las Vegas (going there in April). I love hanging out with these very old and very wise trees. Enjoy your adventure, and travel safely!

      Thats the perfect time to go - it will be hot in the valley below, but take a light jacket or sweater, it can be pretty chilly up that high. I am sure you will love it there!

    Awesome videography! Recently I've taken an interest in astrophotography & drones. Love the Milkyway shot! Your production value from the music, drone and camera footage. Interested in the equipment you used! The Brististlecone forest has been on my bucket list since the 60s when I first heard of bristlecone pine in a Lassie book.

    • @ridealongwithscott
      @ridealongwithscott  2 года назад

      You should go to the Patriarch Grove where I ended up - 13 miles of unpaved road before you get there however. Anywhere in the White mountains is good for astrophotography, though. Very little light pollution there.

      Methuselah is really tricky to even find a picture of, the actual methuselah tree is a closely guarded secret by the national park service. It is on the methuselah trail about half way through the journey. All though you will not know when you are looking at it, you will have seen it

  • @trimmoos
    @trimmoos 3 месяца назад +1

    2:47 that’s not Methuselah.

    • @ridealongwithscott
      @ridealongwithscott  3 месяца назад +1

      Maybe it's his younger, less famous cousin, Methusehah?

    • @trimmoos
      @trimmoos 3 месяца назад

      @@ridealongwithscott I imagine they’re all cousins. That tree is on the discovery trail, pretty close to the visitor center. Methuselah is on the Methuselah loop trail, 2.7 miles from the visitor center.
