Great suggestions! Chateau Marmont and The Rainbow Bar & Grill are definitely iconic spots. I'll make sure to include them in the next tour!
I lived in Cerritos in the 70s.The library was originally a single story small building, amazing what they've done to it.
It’s incredible how much the Cerritos Library has transformed over the years! It’s a true testament to the community's love for learning and innovation.
Thanks for the video. It seems you know of a lot of cool music and artists I've never heard of. How did you discover them?
Almost all of the music you here on my channel is from Artlist.com, a copyright free music source for content creators like myself. They have thousands of musicians and bands from all over the world looking for exposure and expanding their fanbases. I spend a lot of time there finding just the right music for my videos. I am a musician as well, and have become a big fan of many of the guys at Artlist. Thanks for watching and commenting! What an absolutely clear day. Being able to see The Tehachapi mountains in such detail is rare.
It truly was a stunning day! The visibility made the drive even more memorable. Glad you enjoyed it!
Great tour, thanks! Going to have to add this to my motorcycling list for 2025....
I really appreciate your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear you're adding this tour to your list. Hope you have an amazing time when you go!
There is no Maricopa County California
Thanks for the correction! I appreciate the clarification on the locations. Maricopa is the biggest town near where I started the video. Just slightly more than 1100 people live there. There is a small community called Ventucopa right on Highway 33, but only about 100 people live there. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Being able to see this all the time! Boy, you are lucky indeed!
For real! I’m just soaking it all in while I can! Thanks for watching!
My husband and I traveled to socal last June. We had the pleasure to take a ride on Topanga Canyon blvd to Red Rock Canyon. It was quite a ride, but we really enjoyed the scenery. I didn't know about the story behind Topanga. Thank you, Scott, for giving us such an insight 👌
Awesome to hear you had a blast! Topanga is such a gem. Can’t wait to hear more about your adventures!
Nice video except you are in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, not Maricopa. That's in AZ.

Beautiful! I lived on Vandenburg AFB as a child in the 60s. We went to Lompoc often. Fond memories. I remember those wide-open drives in the area.
Thank you for sharing your memories! It’s always heartwarming to hear how our videos resonate with viewers and bring back such fond moments.
How will California protect itself from Trump? Is it all show by Newsom or can he really protect people from mass deportations, keep climate goals in place, etc etc. I am still shocked by the outcome of this election and really thought we were better than this. Amazing place you went to btw. Had the honor of going there once. Very susceptible to climate change.
Totally get where you're coming from! California’s got its work cut out for it, but fingers crossed for some solid moves ahead! 🌍✌️
@ridealongwithscott Do you know if the state would even be able to? I really felt we were moving in the right direction with so many things, but this seems to take us into the dark ages.
@@luperamos7307 I don't know what our state government can do, but I do not doubt Newsom's determination to block fedral efforts and protect Californians. I agree that this is a setback to fulfilling the promise of America, and I am deeply saddened by the choice of so many of my countrymen. We just proceed, chin up and determined to make sure all people can live free, with completly equal opportunities. Mass deportations are not the promise of America, and walls don't stop migration from persecution and strife. America is a land of immigrants, and humans have always migrated since we left Africa 60,000 years ago. The conservitives don't seem to be very good students of history. America's diversity is it's strength, and we are all in this together. We will survive.
Love this, someday I will get there. Thanks for the ride!
I'm glad you enjoyed the ride! Keep pushing forward, and you'll get there sooner than you think! Being there changes you, go as soon as you can. Until then, watch the video again!
This was GREAT! Thank You for filming it. 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words! It really motivates me to keep creating more content.
Beautiful! Enjoy your channel very much. Started with The Bristlecone Pine video. Got me hooked! Thank You for taking me places I've longed to see. 😊
Thanks a ton! So stoked you liked the Bristlecone Pine vid! Stick around, we’ve got tons more awesome places to explore together! 🌲✨
great video and those were some good tunes too.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the tunes! Music really adds to the vibe, doesn't it? Thanks for watching and commenting.
I delivered at the Aldi's in Lompoc was the scariest ride this route!! And all at night!! Reminded me kinda like Colorado
Wow, it sounds like quite an adventure! Night deliveries can definitely be intense, especially on those winding roads. Stay safe out there! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yes indeed Scot-Laguna Beach is awesome but so is this video. GREAT drone footage too; fabulous. We have tons of great memories made in Laguna. Your camera work brings it all rushing back; thank you very much!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to hear that the video resonated with you and brought back those wonderful memories of Laguna. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great little highway. Took this route to get back to Vegas from Solvang, instead of heading south towards LA. Felt like stepping back in time along some stretches. I can see this highway has the potential to be dangerous with its single lane and limited vision around mountainous curves. Over taking has to be planned carefully as safe overtaking opportunities dissappear very quickly.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s always great to hear how others appreciate the beauty and challenges of these scenic routes. Thanks for watching and commenting!
This was a avalanche of beautiful scenery coupled with music that was perfect. Many thanks to you for allowing me to live vicariously. Best wishes!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you felt like you were part of the adventure.
Thanks Scott. Have a good one!
Thank you so much! Your kind words mean a lot to me. Wishing you an amazing day ahead!
Thanks for another great ride along. Always enjoy the scenery and the music. Helps take your mind off od all the crazy stuff in the news. Have a great day!
Thanks, Robert! I’m thrilled you enjoyed the ride! Just remember, the only traffic we want here is the flow of good vibes. Stay tuned for more scenic detours!
Always such a delight
Thanks a ton! Your comment just made my day! Keep coming back for more good vibes!
Amazing scenery , really enjoyed this one.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m thrilled to hear you enjoyed the scenery as much as I did!
Where is this?
Thanks for asking, DPB! Laguna Beach is just south of Los Angeles in Orange County, California. Orange County is also home of Surf City, USA, otherwise known as Huntington Beach. We live in one of the most beautiful places on earth, with quite possibly the best weather on earth.
@@ridealongwithscott 💘😻😍😍😍
I'd forgotten to thank you for making/posting the video, it truly captures everything I'd loved about driving Topanga (but was too rushed to stop and record myself) and I will be revisiting this video again in the future just as a reminder/homage to how much I'd loved my recent trip out to LA from New Jersey. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
I was out in LA visiting a friend (first time back in 32 years) two weeks ago and drove Topanga Canyon from Malibu to highway 101. One of the most AMAZING roads I've ever driven or ridden on! My friend lives right near the Mulholland Drive/Laurel Canyon Blvd areas and I'd used to think that those were the best. Topanga is WAY better. Coldwater Canyon is a close second though. 🙂
Wow, sounds like you had a wild ride! Topanga Canyon must have been calling your name like, "Hey, remember me? I'm still the best!" Thanks for watching and commenting!
As always well done both photographically and musically. Brought back fond memories of living in Southern California. Thanks for the memories. Look forward to upcoming videos. Hope your week end is treating you well.
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad the video brought back such fond memories for you. Stay tuned for more content!
Porn Valley…
i have the 138 art work photo, lived up there, been driving 138 since 1968. lived in Palmdale
Wow, that's amazing! The 138 has such a rich history, and it's great to hear you've been a part of it since the '60s. Thanks so much for reaching out and commenting!
Hey thanks for this! Is this route a detour if you're driving down from LA or is this the original "Google Maps" way?
This is my own meandering route, just tring to maximize the best views of the beautiful land and sea. I have spent many days exploring this area, and always love returning here. I come here at least once a month for a visit.
Lived 2013-2015 in LA and miss this drive home every day. Thanks.
It's amazing how certain drives can hold such special memories! Glad this brought back those feelings for you. Thanks for reaching out and commenting!
I was out for a drive in the late '70s and stopped to get gas at station on corner of PCH. Had noticed a gal swerving in and out of traffic several cars behind me. She walked up to me in the station and said "my name's Mamu, I have a car just like that but mine's an Alpine. I live on Old Topanga near the corner. Want to come see my car?" Followed her up there, where she told me, "I live in that Tipi and my brother lives in the water tank". She said she was a Magic Mamu, and she could throw a mean Tarot and carried on without a comma that she was someone I should know. She had a snake for a pet, and an amulet and she was breeding a dwarf but she wasn't done yet. She had gray-green skin and a doll with a pin. I told her she was all right but I couldn't come in (I couldn't come in right then . . . ). And so she wandered trough the flap of fur just like a shadow from the tomb she said her stereo was four-way and I'd just love it in her cocoon. Well, I was born to have adventure so I just followed in her steps right past her fuming incense stencher to where she hung her castanets. She stripped away her rancid poncho and laid out naked by the door. We, um, smoked till we were un-concho and were useless any more. Modified lyrics of Frank Zappa's Camarillo Brillo. Can't help but think of these things whenever I go up Topanga. 7:49 LOL
Thank you for sharing your modified lyrics! It’s always great to see how music inspires creativity and brings back memories. I love Frank Zappa, and keep the good vibes coming!
Hello! My name is Jeremiah, we have a program that is dedicated to Joshua Trees. I’m here in Payahuunadü (Owens Valley), we have a workshop coming up, maybe you’d like to join? Curious if your the same guy I just read about? The music from the tree?
Thans for another great ride along Scott. Interesting music in this one. Have a great day!! ✌
I'm glad you enjoyed the ride along! The music really adds to the experience, doesn't it? Always a pleasure to hear from you Robert, have a fantastic day!
8th Street exit of I-10 in Banning. There some nice little lakes or ponds along this drive. Another few miles past Idlewyld and you would come into Mountain Center and Hwy 74,
Oh nice, I love finding those hidden gems on the road! Definitely keeping that in mind for my next trip!
Check out the Paradise Cafe on the corner of Hwy 74 and the road heading to Anza. Ask for the Jimmy Buffet Special (Chesseburger in Paradise). Another nice drive is Hwy 79 from Old Town Temecula to Julian. I have not been on 79 from Julian to I-8 yet and would love to see that.
I really appreciate your suggestions! I love exploring new routes and eateries, and the Paradise Cafe sounds like a must-visit. Thank you for sharing!
I've never been on this part of 74 even though I grewup in north OC... I HAVE been from the top of the hill in Elsinore all the wat to Palm Desert several times (74 becomes Monterey in Palm Desert and connects to I-10)..
It's interesting how we can live in a place and still discover new routes! The scenic drive from Elsinore to Palm Desert is definitely a gem. I did a video on that stretch of 74 as well. Here is the link - ruclips.net/video/xmXgi2CE51M/видео.html.
@@ridealongwithscott We used to stop at the Paradise Cafe on the corner of 74 and 177 (I think thats the number) that heads toward Anza, and ask for the "Jimmy Buffet Special" (Chesseburger in Paradise)... :))
Another spectacular drive Scott-Thank you very much! Keep up the great work and please give us some more drone footage too! :-}
I really appreciate your support! It means a lot to me that you enjoyed the drive. I’ll make sure to include more drone footage in my future videos!
What a wonderful, and heartfelt video. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It truly motivates me to create more content like this.
I love you videos! Thanks for taking us along for the ride! 🌞🙂
Thanks a ton! So happy you’re enjoying the ride with us! Let’s keep this adventure going!
Laurel cyn. Was named after Stan Laurel (Laurel & Hardy) fun factoid 😊
Just to let you know, Laurel Canyon was called Laurel Canyon long before Stan Laurel. There are published references to it as early as 1874. It was named for the California Bay Laurel trees that grew (and still grow) there. Stan and Oliver are still famous though! Thanks for your comment, and keep watching!
That’s a beautiful area, I used to go out to borrego from San Diego nearly every weekend and that and the scenic route up palomar were my favorites
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s always nice to hear from others who appreciate the beauty of those areas as much as I do!
Is going this way less steep compared to taking the 101 up through Buellton? My truck had a tough time climbing the 101 last time going up to Pismo
Great question! Taking this route can be a bit gentler on the slopes compared to the 101. It should make for a smoother drive with your truck! It's a bit prettier, too!
Been to Big bear lake few times but ot lake Arrowhead planning to visit this place soon
Big Bear is cool, but Lake Arrowhead is like the fancy cousin who always shows up with gourmet snacks! Get ready for a treat!
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
I have not been on this highway. It looks so beautiful and scenic. Yes please have CAL TRANS desingnate HWY 154 as a california a state scenic byway.😊

thank you for helping me plan my tripe. good music. loved being here
Awesome! I'm stoked that you liked the video and the tunes! Have a blast on your trip! 🎉
This was so beautiful, the the last song caring me home, reminded me how much I miss my aunt who passed away in November, but I know she was ready so I smiled. Thanks again Scott for letting us see just how beautiful the world is. 😊
Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt reflection. It’s wonderful to hear that the song brought you comfort and reminded you of your auntie.
