Listened to this on a drive from denver to salt lake city with my mom, anderson paak has an amazing way of making music that everyone can enjoy.

It's funny but I do agree with this. It doesn't break any new ground, it's just a solid album
It’s an amazing album, but it’s sort of just Paak staying in the zone that he performs best in.
I was expecting at least a 9 to be honest 😭
@@GG4GJakehonestly I think it’s breaking new ground for knxw as a producer. He’s come such a long way and this really feels like one of his best works for himself. There’s usually times where tracks are too short or just end abruptly but here it’s very cohesive. There’s 1 minute tracks I wish were longer but they feel like they at least come full circle with an idea within that 60 seconds. Idk I love it lol
I interpret Dave Chappelle’s words on the intro track as Anderson having mixed feelings about his divorce. “There but for the grace of God, go I” is Dave expressing sympathy for Anderson in going thru his divorce. “There because of the grace of God, go I” is Anderson moving on to presumably greener pastures. The ambiguity of Dave’s message lends itself to the idea of Anderson’s mixed emotions. And as far as the word “deserve”, perhaps Anderson feels he deserves, or doesn’t deserve happiness after moving on but simultaneously deserves, or doesn’t deserve the negative emotions he’s also feeling. Again, the message is intentionally ambiguous in my opinion, so I could be wrong. Feel free to critique this take if needed.
Dave is not transphobic and Anthony always lets his political opinions dictate his music rating when I try to watch him. I don’t care just review the music. I think he totally missed the mark on the intro. Maybe you should make a review channel. 💯

@@consolas2514 Dave is not a politician. He’s a comedian that makes jokes about trans people, races and more. Comedians back in the day made worse jokes but people are offended easier now. He has a special where he talks about a close friend that he lost who was trans. There’s no way he is transphobic.

People aren't more offended these days, it's the communities finally got an opportunity to be recognised and speak up to say "hey, we really don't appreciate this humour, it's excessively degrading", especially when Dave does position himself as more than a comedian nowadays, doing his psuedo-intellectual "truth sayer" bit at the end of his specials, trying to pose himself like some modern philosophical genius when he just makes grand sweeping statements about the experience of a community he doesn't understand and becomes one of the loudest voices on their issues to white suburbia, kinda sounds like when Raegan called black people dirty criminals when he had no insight into their communities and refused to engage as to why there was poverty and crime in those areas. Only difference is, Dave didn't start transphobia, he just propells it with his specials by misframing trans communities to his audience who take that as their green light to say these things publicly and online. Having a trans friend doesn't mean you can't be transphobic. If I have a black friend, am I suddenly not racist? If I have a female friend, am I suddenly not misogynistic? That's such a stupid argument.
@@consolas2514 A lot has to happen before I label someone transphobic, or racist. That’s a big accusation on someone’s character. I hear you but he’s from a different era of comedy. He was doing a certain type of comedy his entire life than one day it’s offensive. There can be an argument that he isn’t justified to make his jokes but many trans people are fans of him also. But to call someone transphobic is too far.
That yellow flannel is seeing a lot of action this year.

I wouldn't call this a glowing review at all, he mostly liked the album and clearly laid out his criticisms, score made perfect sense to me
He said pretty much everything was good, there wasn't much that he said was amazing.

I don’t think it’s better than Yes Lawd!, which to me is a VERY high bar to hurdle. The light 8 is appropriate and in line with how most other critics feel about the album.

I’ve been a LONG time fan of Knx and Anderson. Knx is one of the hardest working producers in the game with too many mixtapes to count and Anderson is an all around renaissance man: singer, musician, etc. my only comment is that as a woman who is aging I can’t digest all of the language regarding women that Anderson uses as easy as I used to.
Why did he not mention Distractions into Lookin ? They might be the grooviest songs in the whole album, Knxwledge flexing to the moon with simple lo-fi samples

The more I listen to this album, the more I feel it's a classic. There are no skips on this. I agree with Fantano though, it's not a perfect album, but Dilla wasn't always ,"perfect" either and the imperfections make it real and stylish. Super happy they did a follow up.
Underscoring this album to pretend he can't relate to the pain Anderson is feeling might be the least sleek move ever from Melon.
I didn’t know anything about NxWorries going into this album and I really enjoyed it.
The night had been amazing. Anthony Fantano, the Internet's busiest music nerd, had spent hours with me, geeking out over our favorite albums and critiquing the latest releases. As the sun began to rise, we lay in a comfortable silence, the perfect ending to a perfect night.
Or so I thought..
Anthony got up from the bed, and my heart raced as he began rummaging through his bag. I watched, horrified, as he pulled out a familiar item: the red flannel.
He slipped it on, buttoning it up with a casual smile. My stomach dropped.
"The red flannel," I muttered, feeling panic surge through me. "Oh no, not the red flannel."
I stared in disbelief, realizing our night had just been rated "Not Good."

Not enough focus on the beats in this review which is by far the best part of NxWorries imo. If you are someone who enjoys hiphop, r&b and soul I don’t know how your mind isn’t blown when listening to Knx.
Knx style and vibe is so unique he basically created his own genre
sad to see he didn't mention 'distractions' one of my favs on the project 💔
A couple of these song popped up in my record pool and caught my attention without knowing who was behind it, more likely to give them a spin now
Why Lawd, TIMELESS and Chupacabra are the three records I have on heavy rotation at the moment. Bought 'em all within the span of a week. You haven't reviewed the DJ Quik x Problem album yet.

I had some friends go to Vegas to see the Silk Sonic show. And Anderson Paak invited them backstage and had “relations” so hearing he’s going thru a divorce is no surprise. He’s been clearly cheating for years
So it’s only his fault now? 😂 Is cheating not a two way street? Where is her personal accountability, oh yeah most ladies don’t believe in that.

This album is already a classic
I think about the intro more in a superation sense, meaning that even if you don't like it you got to experience shit in order to overcome that kind of hard feelings instead of ignoring them, you are in the spot that you supposed to be because that makes you what you are.
Maybe it's kind of a pinky way to see it but I feel it that way

I thought the album was incredible. I give it an 8-9. My only issue is that I wish the vocal mixing was more consistent on each track. Some are mixed super good while others are mixtape quality. For instance on NVR.RMX Anderson's Vocals are way too low.
