The same people who claim that Fantano's opinions are worthless are the same people who are obsessed by him. If you want to watch a bunch of out of context scores and write a reviewer off on that basis, then you're free to do so. But the point of a review is to challenge your preconceptions and to open you up to different things. A review, ideally, tells you a little bit of the surrounding context of the album and helps you to think about why you liked something and what exactly about it you liked, especially if the review strongly differs from yours. A review's merits should not be judged on the basis of a bunch of scores, but on how well-founded the opinion is. There have been plenty of times I've seen a review and completely disagreed with it while seeing where it comes from. What is the point of starting a crusade against a reviewer?

sexxy red is the worst artist to ever exist
that album got an 8 cuz anthony wants to marry her
nah because he rates things that are so much better like Mbdtf lower than things that are just clearly not as good
atp people are just happy they now have a new number to type
he gave THIS a 6, but THAT an 8. He'll burn in hell...
He gave an 8 cause he wants to slide with her
How can someone miss out on so many classics and still be taken seriously?
X was overrated when he was alive, since his death it’s gone beyond obnoxious how much his music is overhyped
Nope he was clearly super talented. He was 20 when he died and had 2 very successful albums, that’s not common at all. His music was obviously going to grow and mature. He was praised by many of his peers too
My boa fishing for comments 😂 this comment not making you different bro
@@tonysoggybolognaog nah, I’ve always had this view. Never got the hype
@@daryoushz1he clearly had a lot of potential, but then again, he died way too young to do something truly phenomenal
@@gabsnandes7818 yeah I agree. Don’t think anyone says he was some global star but his discography displayed a lot of ability for someone his age
"Y'all know this is just my opinion, right?"
A 6 is blatantly a positive score lmao
it's a positive score, so giving Acid Rap a 6 is honestly not an outrageous take
For most of braindead people, anything lower than 8 is considered bad.
Is that even what people are mad about? Lil Pump and sexyy redd got a higher score than TLOP, Mac Miller, MBDTF, WLR, and 2014 forest hills drive.
Thank goodness he changed his opinion on TLOP and Swimming
A LIGHT 3 ON BIRDS IN THE TRAP IS RIDICULOUS
Not really.
@@baronvonbeandiphow
6 on mbdtf, a 3 on swimming and then 8 on hood hottest princess is OUTRAGEOUS
Unreviewable should be at the TOP of the list
Unreviewable 1 deserves it tbh
the fact that in his head a fucking lil pump record is better than mbdtf is wild
i wanna see this mfs playlist with his ratings bruh 💀💀

Y'know he listens to alot of music, right? Half of it you clearly wouldn't recognize anyway
The House of Ballons score is truly insane lol
he gave red light A "DECENT ONE" BTW
prolly cause it sucks
@@baronvonbeandip I'm not even gonna try to start a conversation, get help young man
3:16 that’s what makes it a good tape/album… chance using those adlibs and being energetic makes it good and memorable.
"woah woah woah
Are you sayin we should think n shiiiit?
Nah bro, sexy red trash, X was a god, well-ordered property and mathematical induction, MBDTF a 6, and other braindead observations"
- The comments section
Yup. Of course the video is literally only rap albums. Of course.
17 is valid though… that album is beyond overrated
Cringe, it’s 1000 times better than lil pumps and sexy redds album which he gave a 7 and 8. Kendrick Lamar praised it too
@@daryoushz1 17 is shallow sad boy music with no substance, the only upsides of the album are the catchy hooks and nothing else. nearly every song on it feels like an unfinished afterthought transcribed into the context of a song, with any song breaking the 2 and a half minute mark sounding boring and needlessly repetitive. sexy red and lil pump are obviously trash music, but the problem with 17 is that the music is trash but everybody praises it. the amount of people praising sexy red and lil pump is far less than the amount for 17. and so what if kendrick lamar praised it? he isn’t god, he’s just an artist.
@@silentxwxlf Kendrick Lamar isn’t god and everyone has their own opinion but praise from your contemporary peers is significant and can’t be dismissed. I personally liked that the songs on 17 were short, but again each to their own. 17 has flaws but it very clearly highlights X’s singing ability and his creative ability merge genres, as well as raw emotions in lyrics. He was 18 when the album released so of course it had its flaws, but to call it trash is hyperbole.
@@silentxwxlfwe not listening to the same 17 😂 you got dat old head mentality Joe Budden head ass

I can't judge on a lot of these since rap isn't something I'm well versed in, but I definitely have some disagreements with Fantano

A light 6 on ds2 is outrageous it’s literally a perfect trap album
He gave lil pump a 7 but mbdtf a 6
And sexy red album a 8
2 on 17 is fuckin criminal

Okay honestly everyone hated on WLR when it came out, so no one hates Fantano’s review at the time. Honestly, unlike most people, the album never grew on me
Rating sexy red higher than mbdtf and swimming is outrageous
And Life Is Good - Nas, he only gave it a 3 😭
Lil Pump got a strong 7/10 😭

Everyone forgetting he gave Blank Face LP by Schoolboy Q a 5
I do agree the MTDF ends weak but a 6 nah I don’t agree lol
How is Arca not on this?!
Absolutely beautiful album with some near perfect songs with amazing singing, and he gave it a 5. A FIVE.
That album is at least a 7, I'd say it's an 8. Easily his worst opinion for me.
a 2 on X's 17 is wild
yea it should be a 1

It should be that, imo
bro thought pablo, 17, ?, mbdtf, yeezus, forest hill drive, and swimming were worse than fucking sexy redd?
Fantano was right about X. Rest in peace, but his music was hot ASS
thank god someone said it, people ride his dick way too much like he was the next greatest musician of all time when he never brought anything new.
his music wipes current state of hiphop today which isn’t surprising
Anthony's opinions on XXXTentacion are some of the most "of the time" reviews I've seen. Back then, X was so controversial and discourse around him was so toxic that any and all mentions of him erupted into flame wars. The way he talks about him back then would be unfathomable today
that's just from hiphop tho
he has dismissed pop for over a decade until charli
nah. not at all true. not one bit.
Lmao what
Anybody here after the Halsey review?
you forgot his review of THE OOZ by King Krule
Obscure, forgotten one: his Decent 3 on Paysage d'Hiver - Im Wald
I love how all of these are rap
Why are they hating on the 17 rating tho? That record was legit 2 at best

I can't forgive him for the red light and come over when your sober pt 1 reviews
where is the infamous Red Light review ?
Framed on my wall because it is perfect
The X reviews were fine. People insanely overrate those two albums. It’s mediocre at best and none of the songs feel finished except for Infinity
I hated the 17 review my senior year when it dropped, nah, I get it now
You’ll come around again later
X's studio albums are some of his worst work but a 2 is still way too low imo.
if motm 2 was called man on the moon ii: the legend of growing hair he wouldve gave it a 10
Him giving Sexy Red's album a way higher score than Swimming and MBDTF really did hurt his credibility. I mean it's his opinion but opinions have to make sense
They do make sense. Didn't you watch the reviews?
@@baronvonbeandip I watched him drool over a caricature of a black woman that white guys love. That's what I saw.
I'm still not over him giving Because The Internet a 5
There’s a reason every single clip starts with “I feel” it’s just bro’s opinion and it’s not more or less valid than anyones. If you feel you disagree with this guy often (Me) just don’t watch (also me why was this shit recommended).
If it was called 'To pimp a swimming butterfly' he would've given it a 10
