Wow, really clear instruction! I like that you showed the bamboo board too, and gave details on the grit of paper, and consideration of heating the treatment, plus making sure you don't damage your kitchen counter etc.
What if the cutting board is plastic?... Would you still use a sander? And what kind of oil if any?..I have watched several videos but yours is the absolute best one that I've found with clear instructions.. thank you so much😊
I really like that you explain basics in your video. The slow motion view of the orbital sander and the explanation of the motion was great. You assume that your audience has broad types of experience and tool access and that is good. It makes your information more useful for more people. I'm looking to refinish two of the large boards such as you showed and your information will be a big help. One thing, and that's the approach you took for the edges. My large maple boards have a black stain on both edges and I'll try to remove with sanding. Also, can the boards be refreshed over time with additional applications of the beeswax and mineral oil when not in need of sanding, but as they are used and dry out? Thanks!
good video and tip on warming the oil. im starting this project tomorrow. what do you think of raising the grain by wetting the board after sanding and before conditioning?
Just found your channel! Exactly what I’m looking for! Thanks so much for this video, so helpful. I love finding small creators, you’re definitely a gem hidden amongst a sea of RUclips creators lol. I shall subscribe now! 🙃🙌🏼
I think sanding it by hand would be better than a multi tool if you didn't have a palm sander. You can add sandpaper around a block of wood to achieve a more even sanding across the cutting board.

Great tip about warming up the oil to make it easier to work with.
So happy I found your channel 😁

No, definitely not. You would need to buy a new one. Also, plastic can damage your knives over time which is why people like to use wood boards.
Awesome!! Thanks!! You are an excellent instructor!!

Thanks! Absolutely, you can just clean and refresh with periodic waxing/oiling. Sanding is only needed for deep restoration.

Thanks for watching!
Well done, great job!
Thanks for the video. How often do you recommend doing this process?
Is that long neck 😂😂 just some friendly humor. Great video
Thank you 😊 so much for shared step by step helped a lot!
Glad it helped!
What is your suggestion to remove gaps in the board.
Thanks👍
Cool
Thanks a lot for the vid.
What if I use multitool instead of palm sander, would it damage the surface, or is it better to make sanding by hand?

wow, pull that dust bag off your sander and hook up your shop vac. You'll find it sands better when you pull the dust away.
I was getting swirls anyway :(
